I won't be voting for the Donald, even if it means Hillary wins... which I think she already has, but that's another subject.

I urge you Trump supporters to read THIS

You will need to urge the elders to read that, but you will be unconvincing. Especially while liberals are insulting anyone who ever had the slightest inclination of voting for trump by saying they are uneducated. I believe this letter is too little too late. But..., with hat said, I don't believe he will be the nominee so y0our letter may not be needed.

I thought Cruz did great last night on Hannity,... I liked what I heard. From what I know of Rubio, he may have the most reasonable "illegal" immigration plan. (might be)

If you'd vote for Hillary before Trump you've got serious problems and maybe voting isn't for you.

I know quite a few reasonable and intelligent people who disagree with you. And the Constitution says they have that right.

I still think it's going to come down to Hillary vs. The Donald come November.

Please read my last post on the R candidates thread.

Trump hasn't won yet.

I'm most annoyed at Donald for wasting his limited credibility calling the other Rs liars. By the time he attacks Hillary no one will care.

It's going to be an interesting election season. I'm not a Trump fan, but I'm pretty convinced that he will be the Republican choice. I'm not ready to make a prediction for the Democrats. Hillary could still go down in flames with her legal problems leaving the door wide open for feeling the Bern.

One thing seem clear to me at this point. Never mind the "conservative" and "liberal" labels. I don't see a conservative in the bunch that are going to win. The question before the American voters in the end will be voting for capitalism vs. socialism. I'm not sure we have ever been faced with such clear differences in the candidates we will be choosing from. We do indeed live in interesting times. If it isn't a landslide for capitalism, we are really heading for dark times in the future. The historical difference in results of these competing forms of economics are so incredibly stark, it's difficult to imagine how we have gotten to the point that the outcome would even be in question.

Steve,

After being high jacked so far to the left, why is it a bad thing to want a correction to the right? Cruz is a staunch limited govt constitutionalist. That's exactly what we need domestically.

Too many candidates. Poor management by the Republican party?

I'm losing respect for the American electorate. First Obama, now Trump. Maddening.

I read two interesting opinion pieces on Trump this week; unfortunately, I can't find either one.

The first said that Trump has given no historical indication that he has any deeply held political beliefs. His whole career he has concentrated on staying in the lime light, and his campaign follows this path. He REALLY LIKES being in the spot light, and he's found if he says the right things, he stays there. The author went on to basically say Trump is not going to be the hard right winger he's portraying himself as, and he's not part of a subversive plot by the left either. Of course, if he's elected he may make some really dumb decisions based on his motivations.

The other column said Trump has a lot more political savvy than he's been given credit for. Repeatedly, Trump has made seemingly outrageous statements one day, only to pull back to a more moderate position a day or two later, like his recent verbal spat with the Pope for instance. Trump came down hard on the Pope for apparently questioning Trump's Christianity, then the next day Trump said "Oh, he's a great man; I really like him". He's not as big of a moron as he appears to be sometimes.

I sure don't think Trump is the savior of the US or even the Republican party; I just don't think he's the anti-Christ either. Hopefully we won't have to find out.

The furthest right candidate would be called a radical liberal just a few cycles ago. Not one is a right-wing extremist.

After 7 years of lies about how left he is we have a honest socialist and a dishonest Alinskyite on the D side. To go further left would be nearly impossible.

Just heard a political pundit state the D party just won't accept Bernie. Just Joe would be handed the nomination if Hillary goes down.

Others talk brokered convention for the Rs and Marco being handed the nomination. ( The establishment hates Cruz more than Trump )

So..... screw the voters.

While I dislike Donald more each day, he won't have the power he thinks he'll get that Barack wields. Congress is terrified of bucking Barack and being labeled racist.

No such fear with Donald.

So I'll still vote for ANYONE but the Communists.

And exercise my rights to protest. No matter who wins.

The Donald is making a pretty strong run, but I think he'll drop out later and exchange his endorsement for some sweet Cabinet or Ambassador position.

But I've been wrong before

I love what Trump is doing to the process. He said the politicians are incompetent and he's proving it by beating them at what they do for a living (campaign) in his first shot.

I don't see him taking a cabinet position. He doesn't need the job unlike the rest of these guys and girls and Hillary...

Pwnzor, I read the article. What, exactly, do you think is driving the Trump phenomena? Why do you think so many people embrace the bully? Did you know that some of the most successful people are sociopaths? Did you know that politicians are more likely to be sociopaths?

Trump represents the "middle finger" to the establishment. The Republicans brought it upon themselves when half of them bent over and the other half dropped to their knees to service Obama. If murder were legal one day out of the year Congress would be empty the next day. Trump is the steak knife by which millions of people are stabbing the Republicans deep and frequently. I'm sure there are a few good Republican establishment types out there but, unfortunately, when there is a revolution occurring everyone gets the guillotine.

Anyone that believes Trump is an outsider has a very limited (naive) view of what it means to be an insider.

Trump comes from a very wealthy, powerful family. Need proof of that? His sister was nominated by Bill Clinton to be a Senior United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Trump used his family's wealth and powerful family friends the same way George W. used his family's wealth and power.

That's not an outsider, folks! That's about as inside as you can get (with the possible exception of being born a Bush).

Don't be a dunce. If Trump is the Republican nominee, you must vote for him. A lot of Christian rightists pulled that stunt in 2012 and we got three more years of Obama as a result. I have not gotten over the ignorance of that move. If America continues down the road of Obama/Clinton/Sanders, then we will eventually get someone who is Trump x10. Read your Roman history.

Sorry to use such strong language but you need to be taken to the woodshed and rethink your position.

The only thing he clearly has going for him is that he is not Hillary!

Comments on WHY Trump is popular. Worth a read.

To be fair I have never been a fan of Donald. I still get why he gets people excited.

He speaks truth to power. Calls the bull crap as he sees it. You have to admire that.

If that's all he did most here would be much happier about hiring him.

And no one can be everything to everybody. If the candidate for the job has the basics you value, you have no choice but to down grade the personality traits you don't like.

Within reason. I wouldn't support a staunch Constitutionalist if he had habits that truly offended my core beliefs. ( a woman beater for example ) and would reject a candidate if I thought his habits made him "unelectable". But unelectable is hard to find it seems. The most vile folk get elected.
