My family and neighbors are starting to look at me funny(might nor have anything to do with the bikes) But wanted a consensus at what number do you go from a motorcycle collector to an addict/ hoarder? Attempting to justify buying another motorcycle. |

Well, you can only ride one at a time. It depends... ask George Barber. My take is 5-6: A dual sport, a sport tourer, a standard/classic, an antique, a hooligan bike, and a muscle cruiser... might have missed a few. Oh, and a Rokon. |

... If you have to ask the question, you might allready know the answer. I'm tempted to save a buell from the craigslist wasteland every now and again, but I don't ride enough to justify any more than 2. Street and dirt. So I'd say '2-Bike Minimum, but if you can't ride them all in a week you've got too many' |

Theres never too many. The proper amount of motorcycles you own is easy to figure out n + 1, where n is the number you own. |

I need a sport tourer and/or cafe bike. The wife wants a small retro bike or scooter. I've only got a couple at this time and one is broke |

I have an S1, S3, XB12R, Interceptor 500, CB450 and a 150cc scooter. No problems here. Here is the formula that I use for collecting bikes. My wife doesn't like my math.

I look at this formula the same as for shoes; 1. Formal polished dress shoes(funerals/weddings/carried on long trips)Goldwing-UltraClassic-Ulysses 2. Casual fun clean sneakers(everyday run to the store)Any Buell especially Ulysses 3. Kick around junk shoes doesn't matter if they are dirty, just comfortable(around the house/yard) Blast-XB Buell- totally Ulysses 4. Mud boots(you know you are going into the shit)Any Dirt bike or special days on a whim Ulysses I'm not saying you need 4 Ulysses motorcycles, but rather I found a way to have one that covers the middle two fantastically and enough to do the other two when the need and conditions come up. I had all four types until my Uly came into my life. The others did not move enough to warrant having them. So they went away over time. |

Ok, so if I have eight at the moment and am looking to add a ninth, that's not too bad? I have a 51 panhead and a 56 panhead(my first bike), a 85 virago XV920 (cafe project I am working on), 2000 Electra glide standard, a 03 XB9R(holding onto for my son when he gets a couple more miles under his belt), a 06 blast(my sons current bike), 08 1125r (still working on), a 09 1125cr (my favorite at the moment) |

I went out of control for a while . . . during the time I bought my XR-1000 and XLCR in the same day . . . I got up to a total of 9 in the garage. Now I am cured. Well . . of motorcycles . . .but guitars are becoming a problem. :-) |

I used to be addicted to collecting motorcycles, but I made sure that all of them had good brakes. That way, I could stop any time that I wanted to. |

I bought my XR-1000 and XLCR in the same day . . . The two Harley products that I seriously lusted after in my younger days. Sigh... |

@Crusty All my bikes have fully functional brakes. The 56 is my bike from when I was 18. I injured my hip about 5 years back in a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu match so don't do as much kicking starting as I used to. But the bike has performance machine disc brakes dual in the front. The rotors will clean up fine. Don't hate the player hate the game |

I'm loving that old panhead. No extra fat anywhere to be seen. Does it run 6V or has it been upped to more modern 12V? |
