It is one of those things that seems to free up your mind from thinking about while running trails through the woods.

I tend to sub-consciously think about which way is north, and how far I may be from my next intersection all the time. Glancing at the GPS seems to allow me to enjoy the ride more not thinking about getting turned around.

That may sound silly, but it works. Or we shut them off and ride till we get lost, knowing that we will be able to find our way out, or find fuel and food when we need it.

In Michigan or Northern Minnesota, we don't like getting too far off our route, as a trail can run 50 miles with very few intersections and that may throw the day off quickly if we run 50 miles in the wrong direction. And unless you cache your maps on a cellphone, there is very little coverage to download google maps while in these remote areas.

Having something that records actual speed is just frosting, as it eliminates the guys who tend to stretch the truth.

i can see where it would be very helpful. especially the fuel location.(actually looking into adding a spare fuel can to the back of my RR this season, just incase) just never had a gps, and am not real savy when it comes to that stuff. give me some time and ill figure it out, sure.

as for the cell phone reception, i know what you mean. we cant even get a signal at dads house up there... much less half the time out in the middle of nowhere!

I found a couple sled deals I could not pass up. I bought one, and may go back for the other if this sells quicly.

NoRice, if you are serious about a 2014 M8000 SnoPro in Green/White, I have a lead on one. Ultra low miles, like 500 or so!

This one should go quickly, as I doubt I will turn down any real offers. 326 Miles!!!!! Warranty til 2018

yup, and have one already, so it is literally a flip.

I see there are a few 2014 M8000 SnoPro in the $9000-$10,000 range.

I have a line on one with like 550 miles for $6500. It looks like it finally sold. I thought that was a steal for a 153" SnoPro that new.

It was pulled from their website as well as the one I purchased. They really wanted to move those two sleds bad.

I think it's foolish business, but they are loaded with used sleds since last year was so bad.

I see snow in the forecast for this week in WI and MI, WOOT WOOT, bring it

Since I was flipping sleds, I got mine out of the trailer and started the fun projects for our tweener season. It's been hovering around freezing every night other than that fluke 97 degree Sunday we had.

So I pull the Apex in and start removing the seat and sanding. I did a half-assed 1000 grit sanding job and polished up my tunnel. It's not a mirror finish, but much better with the oxidation taken off.

And if you have to ask, F-yes I have a cup holder on my creeper!! I've kicked over too many beers and drinks to mess around anymore. A guy has to have something to keep the finger tips numb when hand-sanding and polishing!!

lol, i really enjoy my painted tunnel... although the zr900 has the old oxidized silver tunnel, it sure wouldnt look bad polished! i'll supply the drinks if you decide to come down here and take care if that for me!

im trying to get my deerblind project (currently trying to assemble all the pieces in the timber, about 10-12 ft in the air...) finished up so that i can move on to other things when im not out trying to get venison for the dinner table. like brake lines on one of the cars thats now been sitting for a month or 2 waiting, need to be done...

then onto working on the new sled trailer, and the sleds. have my clutch kit to put in, and am leaning towards doing reeds, y-pipe, pipe, and pc5 on the 800... being able to buy the reeds and power commander through my shop, significantly reduces the cost of those pieces ; )

After doing this by hand a couple times before, I did skip the first round of sanding with 500 grit, and that was a mistake.

If I had done it once before, I could have just started with 1000 grit. I did anyway, and it showed. I did use a sanding block on the larger open areas, but most of it is paper/water/bloody knuckles.

I did use a Powerball on my drill this time to buff out the polish. That did work well, but I think I am due for a new ball. It just didn't want to get all the polish off like I wanted it. We will call this a good first pass to get the oxidation off.

The two vipers have white tunnels, and they tend to show the brake dust from that left hand cat brake in the footwell. That sucks!

My last apex had a black tunnel, and that was the easy one to keep clean. I do love the smell of Seafoam burning off from these sleds in the garage. You can't help but fire them up and blip the throttle! The growl of these engines is so addicting.

Anyone out there that has limited themselves to two wheel adrenaline doses needs to go rent one in a place that is known for snowmobiling. Or if you do live in the northern half of the US, find a friend that has a couple and needs a riding buddy!

I do find that my garage is at maximum capacity during tweener season. I have yet to pull the saddlebags and move the bikes to their winter resting place out of the way.

none here in the forecast yet. i finally turned the heat on in the house yesterday. figured its been low 50"s in the house for the last couple weeks, but its supposed to get down below freezing and not above 50 really for the next week. figured i needed to see if it would fire up this year. the last 2 years i had to do some kind of wrenching on it to get it going for the winter!

tried working on the enclosed trailer yesterday. need to get the wiring figured out.

it has some funky taillight problem. Hook it up to the saturn or the diesel, and all the many marker lights all over it work, but no taillight or turn on either side... hook it up to the lumina. And all the lights including the taillights work, but turn signals back feed something fierce and basically both signals flash. But all 3 of those vehicles haul my other trailer and the lights work as they should on that no matter what vehicle it's hooked to.

so still have to figure that out.

then i have to do the clutches on the new sled and MAYBE reeds, y pipe and pipe, and a tuner.

then also have to figure out why the old prowler still doesnt like to move under its own power very easily.

still havent figured the damn trailer lights out...

but i did just order a clutch puller, some new shock guard(my other ones both broke after 1 season. ugh. some a-arm guards, boysen rage cage reeds, and a tuner... still have to order a y-pipe and the a fatt azz big single pipe for it... i MAY just order the y-pipe and run it that way this year, unless i decide to plunk down the funds to get the other piece. it will be a performance boost eitherway!

Here's what I've been working on. It's my race sled. A '71 Sno-jet SS with a yamaha 292. I was running the stock chain case, skidoo track, bogies, and rear axle. It now has a chain case, skid, track and clutch from a '76 Sno-Jet Astro. Hopefully I can be competitive this year. The bogies just don't put enough pressure on the studs.

loks like your already having fun for the season! lol

finally got the new trailers lights all figured out and working! sooo much easier when your friend has a car lift and says to swing by... lol

now i just have to go around and seal up a few of the stress cracks in the trailer cap. those things are thinner then a pop can! so it has a few small cracks around some of the bolt holes. no biggie. nothing a little blackjack wont fix good enough to keep the water out.

got the parts i ordered for the f800... but ofcourse right after i ordered the tuner went on backorder... so... ive been burning up the phones trying to get one still enroute to me.

have about a month before the first trip is planned.

We put on 22 miles last night between Diworth and Glyndon. A buddy had to break in his new Renegade.

I saved my sled and rode the wildcat. This amount of snow we have just cushions it so nice. Hopefully the 40's will hold off and we can keep what snow we have.

That pic was taken up in White Earth. There was plenty of snow around home, and also back in the trees. Out in the open it all melted.

On Saturday, we loaded up and headed south to find that strip of deep snow around Ortonville. We could see there was a lot of traffic in the ditches and on the trails. But the snow had gone away.

The gal at the gas station said we missed it by 2 days! She said there was tons of snow and sledders from all over. Well it all pretty much went away.

So, I took the neighbor boy out yesterday and we ripped up what snow we could find. A couple nice face shots and a few spin outs that seems as if we were going to flip! Amazing power and stability in this beast. I need to nickname it soon!

Looks like fun!

My Dad just called me last night and told me he bought a very clean 2012 800 RZR. so i guess i'll have to try that out before long...!

I'm currently working on getting the RR pieced back together. Got the new reinforced steering brackets installed(1100 miles and mine already had a bunch of slop in it), got the new Boysen reeds put in, as well as got the airbox trimmed to fit with the thicker reeds. Stuck a map in the tuner while at work today, so still have to hook that up and figure how to mount it under the hood. Also have to finish assembling the clutches, and install the new y-pipe and bigger chamber pipe.

then i have to figure out the wiring(running new, and converting it from a/c to d/c) and get my mounting finished up for this

a dual spot flood to hopefully help me quit out running the headlight!

the plan is to take the center grab handle off my front bumper and mount this in its place.

im not sure why im doing any of this though... leave for the Christmas snowmobile trip to wisconsin next week. without any snow... ugh

We got snow now!! WOOT!

I like the idea of extra light, and that is why I have HID's in all the sleds we have owned. But what is with these Jack-holes mounting these LED lights between the skis?

I mentioned this on Hardcore sledder and Totally Yamaha that it would get ripped off. And what do you know, first ride out and someone rips their $100 light off the belly. What were they thinking?

Where were you planning on mounting it?

Did you get enough to ride? Probably no kind of a base to it...?

And look at the previous post again. About half way down it talks about the mounting ; ) lol

I cant imagine mounting i down and exposed on the bellypan area. Ofcourse that thing wouldnt last! Im surprised my bellypan does sometimes lol!
