I can relate to wanting a Monster until the S1 debuted. Eriks current bikes are beyond my more pedestrian interests but I'd sure like to see EBR survive... |

When are the Thunderbirds going to tour in Florida? Tell Erik he can ride any one of my family's bikes he likes when he is here. Mi casa, su casa. It's the least I can do for the 50k plus miles of wheelies, stoppies, jumps, smiles, and most importantly- life. 10 of my 35 bikes have been Buells, and they all had something many didn't- SOUL! |

I want to add a little of what I've seen in my short time on this Buell bandwagon. A big part of my conversion to Buell came from other riders who were almost rabid about their brand, first on the internet and gradually in person. then I met Erik. I asked him for so many autographs in 2008 that later, at the concert by the lake he looked at me and said"you're Zack, right?". I almost shit. Two years later when I asked him to sign my latest Buell, he asked if it was in Colorado. again I almost shit. I watched him come out of the factory in 2010 after the shutdown and he saw a whole parking lot SOLID with Buells and a tear rolled down his face. Erik has more heart than anyone I have ever been lucky to meet. And I have a whole lot more friends thru that association in all of you I've met. BTW, Thanks Blake. Z |

The company that just bought EBR's assets is the same company that auctioned off Buell's assets after the HD shutdown: http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/2010/01/article/buel l-liquidation-sale-begins-jan-28th/ http://www.liquidap.com/portfolio/buell-motorcycle-factory-liquidation/ I've got two Buells and wanted to buy an EBR, but I just can't see this ending well. The court did NOT approve the sale to Liquid Assets. Bruce posted that this is a good thing. I believe this gives him another shot at acquiring it. |

I visited the Liquidation site and reviewed their item list in detail of what was to be auctioned off on 28 January. I assumed this inventory equated to their 1.6 mil bid. Well it did not. This auction would not return $1 mil max, if that. I will try to attach the XL spreadsheet, but I may not be able to. There are about 360 lines in the spread sheet and 1016 items. There were no EBR bikes or parts of EBR bikes. Others should check this out as well to keep me honest. So, I don't get it. Where is the rest of the stuff that must be there? |

Last time Liquid Asset Partners liquidated a manufacturer, they sold the motorcycles at the NPA (national powersports auction) which is very typical. |

Stevel- I saw a couple of Buell-related items, an XB engine stand and a "fuel caddy/XB frame", but nothing that's obviously EBR. |

You guys need to check the dates on that auction crap, the links are from 2010, the spread sheet was originally from 2009. This is the OLD Buell that HD sold, not the new EBR. If it was implied that these were from last time, I apologize, to me it seemed you were talking about the present. The news of the delay in court until after the holidays kind of confirms this. |

My thought has been that the court will go with a lesser bid if it means jobs and future tax revenue for the state. Bruce B. appears to be the best for the state option. Of course I am just thinking out loud. Doesn't mean I'm right. |

>>>>if it means jobs and future tax revenue for the state. Wait . . . how would you respond if you were a creditor and the court rolled the high bidder in favor of someone selling a "pie in the sky" promise of jobs and revenue. Short some sort of a bond of binding agreement . . .that ships not setting sail. There have already been discussions, I believe by Bruce, about if EBR would stay in WI or come to New Jersey. Bruce is a businessman and knows the immutable law of running a business. . . .

I don't see that EBR is worth more sold in piece thanks a "going concern" even if the the going is tough. The law they are operating under does give a "going concern" bid precedence over chopping it into pieces. BUT the precedence is limited. I'm not hopeful about EBR. I am certain that we have not seen the last ErikBuell designed motorcycles. |

That is an accurate statement . . . . I doubt we'll see any future reincarnation of EBR . . . I am CERTAIN we will see Erik Buell's handiwork. |

Wait . . . how would you respond if you were a creditor and the court rolled the high bidder in favor of someone selling a "pie in the sky" promise of jobs and revenue. Obama has already set the precedent with GM, although I think we all can agree EBR ain't no GM. |

Nor are the Courts extended the latitude to act as stupid as a minor league community organizer who stumbled and fell into a leadership role. |

This is under Wisconsin law. I read the statute last night hoping to find some language that would allow the judge to consider effects on the community, but found little. Basicly the creditors interests are to be considered first. However, if say the local or state government came in with some $$$ to add to Bruce's bid, that would improve the outcome for investors and perhaps sway the judge... |

Snacktoast wrote: "Court's comment seemed rather apropos to me." Right, because Obama must have "stumbled and [fallen] into a leadership role." Let's ignore that he got a Harvard law degree, was elected to be the president of the Harvard Law Review, worked as a civil rights attorney, taught constitutional law at University of Chicago Law School for 8 years, served three terms in the Illinois Senate, got elected to be a U.S. Senator from Illinois, and was elected President of the U.S. -- twice. |
