Wow – It Could Have Been Much Worse – Suicide Bomber Stopped While Entering Paris Soccer Stadium
Posted on November 14, 2015 by Sundance

Incredible report from Fox Sports shows how much worse the coordinated Paris attack could have been. According to the report, the suicide bombers were stopped by security prior to entering the packed soccer stadium filled with 80,000 fans. They detonated their explosive vests as a result of failed entry.

quote:

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, one security guard explained how the Stade de France attacker attempted to back away from the entrance after being discovered, only to detonate the explosives vest in the process. One police officer, confirming the events, said police believe the attacker was attempting to enter the stadium to detonate the explosives inside to start a stampede.

Three minutes after the detonation at the Stade de France, another attacker detonated his explosives outside the stadium. This was followed by a third attack at a nearby McDonald’s. Two of the three nearby explosions were clearly heard by fans inside the stadium, and broadcast footage shared on Twitter showed the explosions could be heard on over-the-air transmission.

Paris Attacks: Suicide Bomber Was Blocked From Entering Stade de France
By Joshua Robinson and Inti Landauro

Updated Nov. 14, 2015 1:56 p.m. ET

PARIS—At least one of the attackers outside France’s national soccer stadium had a ticket to the game and attempted to enter the 80,000-person venue, according to a Stade de France security guard who was on duty and French police.

The guard—who asked to be identified only by his first name, Zouheir—said the attacker was discovered wearing an explosives vest when he was frisked at the entrance to the stadium about 15 minutes into the game. France was playing an exhibition against Germany inside.

While attempting to back away from security, Zouheir said, the attacker detonated the vest, which was loaded with explosives and bolts, according to Paris prosecutor François Molins. Zouheir, who was stationed by the players’ tunnel, said he was briefed on the sequence by the security frisking team at the gate.

A police officer confirmed the sequence, adding that police suspect the attacker aimed to detonate his vest inside the stadium in order to provoke a deadly stampede.

Around three minutes later, a second person also blew himself up outside the stadium. A third suicide attacker detonated explosives at a nearby McDonald’s, police said. One civilian died in the attacks, police said.

At least one suicide bomber was carrying a ticket to the France-Germany international [soccer match] and attempted to enter the Stade de France on Friday, with plans to detonate an explosive vest inside the grounds, according to a France security guard and French police.

According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, the attacker was stopped at the gate when his vest was discovered. The attacker apparently attempted to enter the grounds 15 minutes after the game started, with the intention of causing maximum panic and destruction, but a security frisking team repelled him at the gate. The attacker was then reported to have detonated the vest while attempting to flee the security team.

Police confirmed this version of events to both news outlets.

Three explosions were clearly heard inside the stadium during the game, but the scale of the attack was not relayed to the teams or fans inside the ground in order to avoid causing a panic. Another bomber detonated his vest outside the stadium. And a third device was detonated at a nearby McDonald’s.

HOUSTON, Texas — Presidential candidate Ted Cruz issued the following statement in response to the terrorist attacks in Paris:

quote:

"America must stand with our allies against the scourge of radical Islamic terrorism. This is an evil that does not discriminate between French, German or American, Christian, Muslim or Jew, soldier, football player, or concert goer. Their only goal is to murder those who do not submit to their vicious, totalitarian ideology. Our deepest condolences go out to our French allies, and I know the government of the United States stands by to offer any assistance necessary.

"We must now face the facts. Between the downing of the Russian jet over Egypt and this massive coordinated attack on Paris, we are seeing an unmistakable escalation of ISIS’ ambitions and the scale of their terrorist attacks outside Syria and Iraq. Even as chaos rages in Paris, we need to take immediate, commonsense steps to preserve our own safety. We need to consult closely with our NATO allies who may be targeted for additional attacks. We need to immediately declare a halt to any plans to bring refugees that may have been infiltrated by ISIS to the United States. We need to redouble our efforts to prevent ISIS agents from penetrating our nation by other means.

"Such steps, however, are defensive reactions to an enemy that will continue to try to attack us until they succeed once again. We must immediately recognize that our enemy is not ‘violent extremism.’ It is the radical Islamism that has declared jihad against the west. It will not be appeased by outreach or declarations of tolerance. It will not be deterred by targeted airstrikes with zero tolerance for civilian casualties, when the terrorists have such utter disregard for innocent life. We must make it crystal clear that affiliation with ISIS and related terrorist groups brings with it the undying enmity of America—that it is, in effect, signing your own death warrant."

These jihadists really aren't that bright. A better outcome for Islam would simply be to continue to flood the stupefied western nations until they are the majority. An invasion and conquering without firing a shot.

FvB, in case you missed this important detail in my posts above:

quote:

Latest United Nations estimates show over 800,000 migrants have passed through the Mediterranean on their way to Europe this year, with 660,700 landing in Greece and 142,400 in Italy.

Many more travel north through the Balkans, contributing to the minimum 1.5 million migrants expected by just Germany to the end of 2015.

Maybe it's the western nations (including US) who aren't that bright...

Of course Barry won't resign. He feels he's doing a great job.

From his point of view he is. Russia has gained power, so he's done great by his good friend Vladimir. The U.S. military is being gelded, the economy is in the 6th year of the summer of recovery... more people are out of work, and poorer, than when he started, and he had betrayed our allies and gave support to the enemies of western civilization. Win-win.

Syrian refugee "vetting"

http://www.ibtimes.com/us-vetting-9000-syrian-refu gees-weed-out-jihadists-granting-asylum-1749622

The State Department will first collect biographical information about the candidate and determine whether they qualify for refugee status.

The case is then passed to the Department of Homeland Security, which will send a representative to conduct an in-person interview to further screen the applicant for security concerns and to determine whether the applicant is otherwise admissible, a State Department official said. However, "security concerns" in countries like Syria, Iraq and Lebanon have in some cases prevented DHS officials from traveling for “several years,” according to the White House Proposed Refugee Admissions report for fiscal year 2015.

Raise your hand if you believe that this will keep out ISIS fighters.

My hands are NOT raised. Neither, apparently, are Governor Bentley's:

Governor Bentley says Alabama will refuse Syrian refugees
Posted 9:33 pm, November 15, 2015, by David Kumbroch

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WHNT) – Governor Robert Bentley announced Sunday evening that the state of Alabama will refuse Syrian refugees.

His press office issued a statement that reads in part:

quote:

“After full consideration of this weekend’s attacks of terror on innocent citizens in Paris, I will oppose any attempt to relocate Syrian refugees to Alabama through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program. As your Governor, I will not stand complicit to a policy that places the citizens of Alabama in harm’s way...The acts of terror committed over the weekend are a tragic reminder to the world that evil exists and takes the form of terrorists who seek to destroy the basic freedoms we will always fight to preserve. I will not place Alabamians at even the slightest, possible risk of an attack on our people.”

Contrast THIS...

...with THIS:

quote:

FBI Director confirms (again) that they can’t thoroughly screen Syrians entering the US
Posted by Ann Corcoran on October 10, 2015

Update: 97% of the Syrians we admitted to the US in FY2015 are Muslims chosen by the UN, here.

This time it is not a lower level official from the FBI, but the Director himself who testified to Congress two days ago that they cannot guarantee Islamic terrorists won’t get into the US in the Syrian flow that is about to start in earnest as we speak (FY 2016 began October 1).

FBI Director Comey: "No data means we can’t crosscheck all the refugees entering the US."

And, for those who doubt me, there is further confirmation in this news account at The Hill that the UNITED NATIONS is choosing the Syrians for us! And, because the UNHCR is choosing them, we are already getting a vast majority of Syrian Muslims and not Christians!

Federal officials say “gaps” remain in their ability to screen Syrian refugees headed into the country, even as their ability to check incoming migrants has improved.

During a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing on Thursday, FBI Director James Comey sounded a cautious note that is likely to be picked up by critics of the White House’s plan to welcome more refugees into the U.S.

“My concern there is there are certain gaps … in the data available to us,” Comey said.

“There is risk associated of bringing anybody in from the outside, but specifically from a conflict zone like that,” he added.
“There is no such thing as a no-risk enterprise and there are deficits that we face.”

In particular, the lack of solid on-the-ground intelligence assets in Syria has clouded the U.S.’s ability to crosscheck the backgrounds of every refugee hoping to come to the U.S., Comey and other national security officials told the Senate panel.

Obama administration officials have insisted that the vetting will be thorough, despite concerns about the lack of intelligence.

Any refugees headed to American shores would first be recommended by the United Nations, the Obama administration has said, and then meticulously screened by various U.S. agencies. [They have not been able to say how they could possibly be “meticulously” screened—ed].

I saw a re-tweet by "cyberpunk" scifi author William Gibson yesterday that claimed that all the members of all the known Islamic terrorist organizations make up only 0.003% of Muslims world-wide. I'm pretty damn skeptical of that number. I'd also guess that excludes people like the young Muslim men shown on French TV cheering the news about the attack in Paris.

The best quote I read all weekend said something to this effect: "No, most Muslims aren't terrorists, but Mohamed WAS, and that's the problem."

Your point is well taken. But, these two governors are setting an important precedent, and it will be interesting to see if other governors follow suit.

It will also be interesting to see if the federal government, at the behest of our pResident, "coerces" these governors to change their minds. The DOJ, for example, has been used VERY effectively for such purposes in the last seven years. Or, perhaps some federal funds are held for ransom.

Can't have the states actually acting like they're sovereign entities, y'know...

I was under the impression that states weren't able to refuse refugees that the feds assign to settle there. I do support them making the effort to refuse to do so in this case though. As usual for this administration, they are failing to provide even the most basic of assurances that we aren't importing the enemy into our borders.

I think trying to assign a percentage of Muslims who are terrorists is kind of like assigning a percentage of the US that fought Hitler in WWII. The vast majority never did any fighting. That doesn't mean that the vast majority opposed what we were doing. Far from it.

Or, as the Hildabeest famously said, "What difference, at this point, does it make?"

The preezy certainly has been untouchable during his tenure, in spite of all his deliberate, documented failures to "faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and...preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

I don't wonder too much any more, trying to tune down the out rage and remind my self that it ends soon.

I expect if the Iranians are as close as the
skeptics say to a nuclear weapon, a terrorist attack using a smaller one in say NYC or LA ( not Leland Area ) may be closer than we think.

I saw a ready for hillary sticker on my way home yesterday, I just have to shake my head.

French PM On Paris Attacks: “Planned From Syria” – Launched From Belgium
Posted on November 16, 2015 by Sundance

Several new items of information surfacing including an additional suspected terrorist added who was another Syrian refugee. Ahmed Almuhamed and his brother Mohammed Almuhamed both traveled from Syria to France as “refugees”. The suspects currently named:

Salah Abdeslam, 26 – urgently sought by police (pictured below)
Mohammed Abdeslam – reportedly arrested in Belgium
Brahim Abdeslam, 31 – named as attacker who died near Bataclan concert hall
Omar Ismail Mostefai, 29, from near Paris – died in attack on Bataclan
Bilal Hadfi, 20 – named as attacker who died at Stade de France
Ahmed Almuhamed – “refugee” attacker who exploded vest at Stade de France
Mohammed Almuhamed – “refugee” status unknown.
Samy Aminour, 28, from France – status unknown.
Three other attackers died during the assaults in the city

French Prime Minister Manuel Valls stated:

-Friday’s attacks by Islamist militants in Paris were planned and organized from Syria.
-New terror attacks were being planned in France and other European countries.
-150 raids on suspected militants had been carried out across France early on Monday.
-France was dealing with a “terrorist army”, rather than a single terrorist group.

quote:

(Via BBC)“We know that operations were being prepared and are still being prepared, not only against France but other European countries too,” he said, quoted by AFP news agency.

The prime minister said more than 150 raids on militant targets in different areas of France early on Monday. Police sources told news agencies that properties in the Paris suburb of Bobigny, as well as the cities of Grenoble, Toulouse and Lyon, had been targeted.

Seven attackers died in the assault on the French capital, most of them after detonating suicide belts.

But, but, the State Department assures us the Syrian refugees will be "robustly" vetted! What's the worry?

Um, Ferris, you mean the same State Department that allowed Ambassador Stephens and three other American heroes to die at the hand of terrorists, the same State Department that didn't lift a finger to help these men, the same State Department that went on to lie to us, repeatedly that the attack was because of some make-believe "offensive" video?

THAT State Department?

Yep, what could possibly go wrong.

In the meantime, hooray for the 16 states listed above.

On top of conditions being particularly ripe for another world war, I also smell another possible civil war brewing here in America.

Community organizing, if you will, but on a national scale.

Actually, maybe that's what the squatters in the White House truly want; such chaos would sure give the pResident a lot more "flexibility" on how he (and his handlers) continue their fundamental transformation...

Otter calls for halt to U.S. refugee resettlement program for security review
MONDAY, NOV. 16, 2015, 2:14 P.M.

Gov. Butch Otter today sent a letter to President Obama calling for a halt to the entire U.S. refugee resettlement program, until “the vetting process for all foreigners crossing our borders can be fully reviewed.” In a statement, Otter said, “It makes no sense under the best of circumstances for the United States to allow people into our country who have the avowed desire to harm our communities, our institutions and our people. The savage and senseless ISIS-driven attacks in Paris illustrate the essential inhumanity of terrorism and make it clearer than ever that we must make protecting our homeland from this threat our primary focus.”

Otter also said he’ll “use any legal means available to me to protect the citizens I serve.” His statement and letter came after more than a dozen other governors, most of them Republicans, declared that they wanted to close their states to Syrian refugees in the wake of the Paris attacks...
