I wonder if the D's had an honest and sane guy running would Tod support him? Heck, I might if he/she wasn't anti freedom like most seem to be in the party of the Confederate flag.

It's completely understandable to support anything but Hillary. That's one scary rich corrupt monster.

I do support one of the few Honest and sane guys in congress. Don't worry your going to be hearing lots more about him.

If Hillary was a republican and all the unsubstantiated trash was true she would be right in the middle of the clown car posse that is currently so busy pandering to the super rich.

Unsubstantiated? She announced her guilt and simply said screw you. Some pigs are more equal than others.

The only iffy thing she may not be guilty of is murder since as the clintonistas love to say "there is no smoking gun".

On the subject of big business bribes..... the "immigration" business bribes for Silicon valley and others to hire cheaper foreign labor sure has gone to both parties. Not all of the clown car R guys are guilty of that, but some are.

Blaming just the one party for corruption is wrong.
If the D's hadn't gone anti freedom I'd have hope for reform in that party. I'm highly doubtful.

The R party reform movement is viciously opposed by Party leadership. We need to fire them. There is hope on that side but it's going to be nasty.

Forgive me Tod if I am less than enthusiastic. I've seen this show before in 1992 when Ross Perot was the new savior king. There were guys who were so rabid for Perot that if you saw one walking towards you, you did an immediate about-face before he saw you.

Before him it was Eugene McCarthy.

Everything old is new again.

Ah yes but if you back far enough you come to Fighting Bob La follete who truly did make a difference, and I almost have to laugh to compare Bernie with McCarthy and Perot, but I get your drift.

The left has accepted the lesser of two evils for too long, I think there is something here. Maybe the wave of support won't last but when he first announced I was ecstatic, but did not expect him to be heard as well as he already has been.

From what i've read in the comment section of articles his words are resonating with a lot more people then the fringe left, America hasn't always been ran by money (to such an extent) and I feel he's the best chance i've ever seen to make this country about WE THE PEOPLE.

Cthulu. Why settle for the lesser evil?

Nice speech. I do wonder which of the really bad policies that led us to that 13 trillion dollar debt Bernie voted for?

Did Bernie vote for the Continuing Resolution's that got us to that debt, and the trillion$ more since that impassioned speech?

I ask this because Barry voted yes for the Last Budget, and then went right out and blamed Bush for spending too much money.

So you might understand my cynicism when spending too much is a problem for a D Congresscritter.

...the "immigration" business bribes for Silicon valley...

As an engineer in Silicon Valley I worked at one company where, if twelve engineers were in a meeting, chances are that English was a second language for ten of them. Some were of questionable talent.

But then I also worked with a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Northwestern who didn't know what a helical insert was for. Seriously.

Cover of Time Magazine is pimping Warren, who allegedly lied about her ancestry to get your tax dollars to pay for college. Haven't read their article, but I suspect the Left leaning Time wants an alternative to Bernie and Hillary that won't scare normal humans.

Tod will giggle at this, but Bernie is at least honest about his beliefs, while Hillary lies about them, sometimes day to day.

Of course those beliefs are of an ideology that is based on lies, bad math, hate, and is responsible for the cold blooded murder of hundreds of millions of people, but since they no longer teach that in public schools, at this point, what difference does it make?

I certainly don't want him to be President, but I'm willing to split the money if he will get together with me, and take all the funds from Both Parties and send their leaders to Gitmo. To Quote Tony Stark, "I will be fair, but firmly cruel."

Show me a single candidate ever that has been under as extreme scrutiny as Hillary. What is the point of Benghazi! Benghazi! Benghazi! HILLARY! HILLARY? HILLARY? And here is another question for everybody that thinks she's evil. Why is the media you claim to be so leftist willing to ALL have like TEN TIMES more coverage of trump then Bernie Sanders? When Sanders draws the biggest crowds every where he goes? ALL OVER THE COUNTRY.

Why is the media you claim to be so leftist willing to ALL have like TEN TIMES more coverage of trump then Bernie Sanders? When Sanders draws the biggest crowds every where he goes? ALL OVER THE COUNTRY.

Seriously? The answer is Obvious.

The media is certainly left leaning. The Professors at Journalism Schools are almost completely uniformly leftist loons, the student at Journalism School know they won't get good grades unless they parrot their teachers, and 4 years of heavy pot usage while listening to nutty professors, has to influence the thought process. ( I read a hilarious article on "why the media hates george bush", the author claims it's because the Bush Administration busted Tommy Chong's business of selling Bongs. Because Journalism majors are stoners. He wrote it much funnier than that. I can't find it but if you do, please post a link )

Actually, I'd love to have a Tommy Chong Signature Bong hanging in the man cave next to the Quake action figures, and Halo Legos.

A historically perfect bit of Americana from my generation. I'd have to leave it in the original packaging, of course, like the Quake toys. ( collector value, you know. Yes, I played with the Legos... seriously, legos. How can you not? )

back to Tod's question.

They cover Trump because he says outrageous stuff, perfect sound bites to raise interest, ratings, and, duh, advertising income. Sanders talks like a human politician, and is boring, in comparison to the Clown.

Also, the Media figures Trump is a loser if he got nominated, and thus would love to pick the the guy to lose to their party candidate. That's subtext, though since the general tone of coverage is hostile.

Here's another take on it from the "right wing" http://www.glennbeck.com/2015/07/13/i-dont-like-1- of-what-hes-done-pat-and-stu-lose-it-on-trump-call er/ They figure he can't win, don't like him, and tell you why.

There's another reason they don't talk about Bernie. They don't want him, really, they want the establishment guy, who right now is, apparently, Hillary.

So it's bias from multiple directions. THAT's why it's Trump, Trump, Trump...

Power in News is the Editorial Power to report only the News you want to Be News.

So, back to Bernie. This guys sounds sane in rare moments.

http://pjmedia.com/blog/sanders-stands-by-second-a mendent-votes-overwhelming-majority-of-gun-owners- law-abiding/

I still don't agree with a LOT about the guys views, but he seems like an interesting guy to argue with. That's rare in a politician.

Trump is a right wing idiot. Of course the left wing media will gleefully cover him.

Margret Sanger, the patron saint of planned parenthood, thought blacks were weeds that needed to be exterminated, and that was one of the reasons for her fight for the right for abortions. You know that, right? During college, I lived about a block from the "the Margret Sanger Clinic".

So there is your left wing idiot, did the media cover her as a symbol like they covered the confederate flag?

People in the news industry vote more than 70% democratic. How can you honestly believe this does not influence their coverage?

It doesn't mean they won't cover right wing issues, and it doesn't mean they won't try and be unbiased sometimes. They will, and they will. But it means they will fail. It's like asking a heavy metal band to play both heavy metal songs and polka's. They probably can, but they will never do as good a job at the polka, and their heart will never really be in it, and it will always be lacking and hollow.

The resulting polka music is perhaps worse than no polka music, because people hear it and decide they don't like polka, when in fact all they really did was decide they don't like polka played badly.

The exception to that is Weird Al's band which can and does do heavy metal and polka with skill.

This could have been posted on the "R" thread, but Scott Walker wasn't really mentioned. It does highlight one of the biggest problems with unions today. Rather than spend union dues on protecting their membership, they spend the dues on the politics of the very few in leadership positions.

Teachers union members want Hillary endorsement withdrawn

quote:

WASHINGTON — Furious American Federation of Teachers members are demanding the union withdraw its endorsement of Hillary Rodham Clinton, calling it premature and undemocratic.

“There was no internal discussion. Zero. Zip,” said Steve Conn, president of the Detroit Federation of Teachers. “This is wrong and something needs to be done.”

The 45-member AFT executive board voted Saturday to back Clinton despite an AFL-CIO request to wait until July when the presidential field is more set.

Critics say union head and longtime Clinton supporter Randi Weingarten secured the early nod to hamper a surge by Clinton rival Bernie Sanders.

Doesn't matter. They'll back whatever dem gets the nomination. I don't even know why they bother. Their votes are a foregone conclusion, bought and paid for.
