I think 156 is the number of corners on Pike's Peak. |

What I found amazing is that they were tuning the engine before they worked on the handling! Did they work on the brakes yet? Seems to me that handing would be number 2, right after the brakes. Once that's squared away, then let's see how fast we can make it. I'm glad no one was hurt but I don't know if I'd get back on it till the handling was improved. But now were back to just using an EBR that we KNOW handles great! |

Well, there's still http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/764316.html I really hope the Ronin does well since I have an active interest in it (I sold the bike to them) |

Buelliedan. I'm curious what you mean by "I sold the bike to them." Are you talking about the first Ronin prototype? I'm curious what your connection to the Ronin might be. Any explanation would be appreciated. |

The bike Ronin is using for Pikes Peak this year is a 2014 EBR 1190 RX that we (NRHS) sold to them. (Message edited by buelliedan on June 23, 2015) |

I wonder how their girder front end compares to the stock BPF in handling? Hopefully their exhaust system at least doesn't hurt the power any. Fingers crossed for a good showing. Remember a Buell 1125CR (with an 1190 kit installed) competed a couple of years ago. He dropped the bike once during his run, recovered, and still finished 2nd overall! |

That was Hurricaneleah, yeah he did incredibly well; curious if he would have taken podium had he not slipped on antifreeze. I like the Ronin guys, and I get the color pallet, but I think the paint could have been better executed. Just my $.02 though. Wishing them nothing but the best though. It would be quite ironic if say the Ronin placed 1st and the Victory 2nd. |

Project 156 is back together and qualified first in class: http://www.cycleworld.com/2015/06/26/2015-pikes-pe ak-hill-climb-race-qualifying-victory-motorcycles- project-156-update-video-photos/?src=SOC&dom=fb |

I read a little further:
quote:Honda’s Jeff Tigert topped timesheets with a 4:17.259 despite a crash in his second run today. He was bruised and battered, but not seriously injured. “Normally, you take it pretty easy your first run, but I noticed that the clouds were starting to get pretty thick,” Tigert said. “I decided to put in a hard one so I’d have a decent time just in case the weather got bad.” He had done a 4:15 in the same section earlier this week. The team intends to repair the bike in time for race day. Travis Newbold, at 4:19.954, was second following a strong showing on the Buell-1125R-based Ronin, which was running an EBR 1190RX engine. Bruno Langlois was third with a 4:22.997 on a Kawasaki ZX-10R, followed by Canet with a 4:23.859 and Ducati Multistrada 1200-mounted Jamie Robinson with a 4:25.463. Canet is competing in the exhibition class because Project 156 is using a prototype V-twin engine; he is about 20 seconds ahead of the second-fastest qualifier in his class. The other four top qualifiers riding production-based motorcycles are in the Heavyweight class.
So the Ronin was almost 4 seconds quicker than the Victory. |

Well, this looks to be an apply named thread, from what I've dug up on the internet it looks like the Victory did not finish, and the Ronin was the 2nd fastest bike and 10th over all. |

Certainly looks that way. Nice finish for an EBR powered bike. 10 747m Pikes Peak Heavyweight 2 Travis Newbold 10:18.514 69.845 1:52.118 2:25.907 2:58.576 3:01.913 Arvada CO Ronin Does this mean Victory did not finish? 79 156m PPC-UTV/Exhibition 3 Don Canet --.--- 0.000 1:51.423 2:56.983 3:04.256 Trabuco Canyon CA |

Rumours from Polaris' Steve Menneto, Victory is apparently planning to put a version of project 156 into production in late 2016 for sale in the 2017 model year. Woo Hoo! I may become an Indian owner yet. |
