"And........ Predictably...... The story is a good one. Papers will be filed in 30 minutes. Assume nothing." I hope you're right, Court. Haven't been this sad about motorcycle news since 2009 . . |

There seems to be more hope in sight this time around than back in 2009. I have no proof or inside word; just a gut feeling. Or Hero will be expanding their product line by introducing sport bikes made in East Troy. Hero 1190RX? |

WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT???!!!! Since Hero owns 49 point something %, what does this even mean? The article says they weren't able to secure funding. Did their outside engineering contracts run out? About the only good I can see come out of this is if they have an EBR fire sale and I can get an SX for $7500. (Message edited by Hughlysses on April 15, 2015) |

"...is filing for court protection from creditors"... I don't like the way that sounds. When my customers do that, it simply means they spent the money they made off my trucks and are now skipping out on the bill. |

So how will this affect the EBR store? How much longer do you think we can order an EBR ECM or 1125 oiling rotor? |

The head of Hero said in an interview ~2 weeks ago he would buy the rest of EBR if he was given the chance. That seems like a likely outcome, but filing for bankruptcy would put a hold on that. Maybe this gives Erik some more leverage to negotiate on the selling price? |

I love my EBR to death. Won't even think about getting rid of it because of this. It's simply the best bike I've ever ridden. I do fear becoming a "creditor" trying to get my warranty work done. I have been waiting for a tail section for a year now. My guess: EBR files for bankruptcy against creditors (mainly Hero), goes into receivership. Hero purchases EBR from receiver. Hero Motorcycles USA is launched. (Message edited by noone1569 on April 15, 2015) |

I currently work with someone who recently worked there. I wondered why he left and now have some understanding. Yes, this news seems to suck, but I don't see Erik as someone who buries his face in his pillow and cries when he comes to a dead end. It will be interesting to see what comes next. |

Whatever it means what was a difficult time getting parts and service will now be even more difficult. "Creditors" meaning Suppliers meaning PARTS among others. I am really saddened to hear this. Especially since the bike is such a blast to ride! |

At the moment I am kinda kicking myself for not buying an extra RS engine or two a couple of years ago. My RS bikes are in deep hibernation and will remain that way indefinitely so that could be worse I suppose. The bad news is we have lots of EBR inventory on lots of EBR wearable and non-wearable items. Would have been nice to have a heads up on this prior to the announcement but if anyone is interested in discounted EBR merch give us a shout at EBR Racewear. |

I wouldn't shoot the horse just yet. I don't know what his intentions are, but lots of companies go into receivership and bankruptcy and emerge stronger on the other side. |

"The company is closed for now, Buell said, and is seeking protection under a state statute which is similar to federal bankruptcy law. Attorney Michael S. Polsky will be the court appointed receiver at the company's request. Bids will be solicited for the company as part of the Chapter 128 process, with the winning bid to be determined by the court. "To say this setback is a disappointment does not begin to express what I feel right now. I am personally grateful for the support of our outstanding workers, customers and vendors. While this is a sad ending, I personally hope for a new and better beginning," Buell said. Sounds like he has a plan. |

Court- Any idea what this will do for the availability of ECMs and other EBR store parts? |
