Update from Ann on Facebook this morning:
quote:If anyone was planning on visiting today, please wait until further notice. We've had a rough night with the seizures and a rough morning so far. I had posted as a comment to my post from the other day, but just wanted to make sure everyone saw it before making the trip. Thank you for understanding. I'll be back in touch if there's any update.
I believe she also said in another posts that Dave's parents are coming down from NC to be there for the surgery. Let's all hope and pray he gets through this alright. |

FB1, Lou had his own dance with the Grim Reaper over the last few years and is now back kicking strong as ever. I can only imagine as good of friends as he and Dave have become that he'll be passing on his own mojo to Glitch. Prayers sent again. |

Having had a few sinus/oral infections they always say "it could've gone to your brain" and I'd just brush it off as an unlikely thing. Terrible thing to hear. Best of wishes. Having a significant other that cares can make a big difference. I had an infection that had me incapable of walking and the wife took care of me. My dumb arse would've probably let it go too way far. |

Thanks for the update. Prayers continue. My mom has a dog that had a sinus infection get into the brain cavity. I always say, it's amazing what medical science can do. Most of it is best when you are unconscious. That dog is back to being a happy pup though. Please keep the information flowing for those of us who don't facebook. |

From previous page: 1351 Sundale Drive Lawrenceville GA 30042 "Smart"phone wouldn't allow me to copy the whole post from the previous page: For cards and/or checks, please mail to: Ann and Dave Hare 1351 Sundale Drive Lawrenceville GA 30042 And this has always worked for me in the past (but sometimes not for others). Latest update from Ann just now.... The cat scan that Dave had this morning showed a 2nd area of infection on the brain. They took him to emergency surgery around 1:00. The neurosurgeon and anestheseologist assured me his vitals are good and strong. They were able to get the seizures to finally stop earlier today. The frontal sinuses will be removed, infection areas cleaned, and there will be cultures done to make sure exactly what germs we're dealing with. He said often times it's not just one strain of infection - it could be multiple ones. For the new area that has appeared, his plan is to drill a hole in the skull and drain that one, as it is a bit farther toward the back. I've been told he won't be out of surgery until at least 6:00 tonight. Dave knows who Dr. Hartman (the neurosurgeon) is. His reactions to him have been different than any of the other doctors. (He kind of seems to like the cute little speech therapist too, but I'll let that one slide.) His face seems to light up when Dr. Hartman is talking to him and he smiles best he can at him. He's understood everything that doctor has said since we got here and he knows Dr. Hartman is "the man with the plan". He received exemplary care ever since we came into the ER and I have absolute faith in the whole team treating him. Please keep the prayers going and I'll let you know how we progress. We love each and every one of you and don't know how we'll ever be able to say thank you enough for the prayers, blessings and support from you all. |

Thanks for the update! Emergency surgery is never good, but I'm also relieved to see aggressive steps being taken to start addressing the things that could be continuing to hurt him. |

Great news! The dental work/sinus infection/brain connection is a frightening and unpredictable thing. Glad he got in to a facility with a smart and proactive staff. Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery. |

I just dispatched a post to Glitch . . . . It'd be capital fun if each of us would mail a short note . .postcard or something tomorrow and he got about 100 cards on Monday. The body goes where the soul leads. There is nothing in that medical facility as powerful as many good friends tugging the rope in concert with you. |

I have an idea. I have 20+ Buell T-shirts, about 6-8 button down mechanic style Buell shirts and a couple EBR shirts. I could put them into groups of 3 or 4 T-shirts and single button down shirts for a benefit auction held here on BWB so no eBay fees. All proceeds would go to Glitch. I'll pick up the shipping fees on the shirts. Most shirts are L, with a few XLarge. All this of course only with Blake's blessing. If I remember correctly, the last time we did anything like this, Ulywife set up sub threads for each auction, so it was easier to keep track of who had high bid and amount. I've got to edit the pics to BWB size, so I'll post pics in a little bit to show what I've got. |

Update posted by Ann to Facebook about 30 minutes ago:
quote:The parents made it. I was ordered to go home by my father-in-law and get some rest, so I have no choice. I know I promised everyone details of his condition, but it will have to wait until tomorrow. I'm just too emotionally and physically exhausted. I promise I'll share all the news in the morning once I've re-grouped. Please know that he is fine and is in great care or I wouldn't have left him. I'll give an update tomorrow morning when I'm fresh and after I see his doctors in the morning. Again thank you for all the love, support, and prayers. We are truly touched beyond belief.
Sounds like very good news. |

Toona, great idea, and we've already gotten the go-ahead from Blake. I can help Kristi from an admin standpoint, if necessary, and I'd also be interested in bidding on some of your XL shirts. You rock! Hughlysses, thanks for the update. Yes, I'm going to take this, and Ann's earlier post, as very good news, too. Hang tough Glitch and Ann!!
