You guys fail to understand the British "we gotta ban pointy things" issue. You pick on the Brits, which is wrong. WE pick on Rocket, which is also wrong, even though he buys the propaganda of the most evil F&^%s on the planet as gospel. Look at it this way. There's an old saying that the Jews are the Canaries in this world. Like the birds carried into mines to detect bad air ( the canary is much more sensitive than a man small body rapid respiration.. ) you know that civilization is falling when there are "protests" against the Jews. When synagogues get torched. When Swastikas get painted on 3 miles of highway overnight. That culture is about to go to hell. Yes, France, I'm talking to you. At that point you should almost be able to hear the jack boots marching in the streets, hear the screams as women are raped by the mob, and the speeches calling for Racial Purity and blaming all the ills of the world on the Jew Bankers. If you don't hear it, you'll either be in that mob, or in front of it. Now you know why when Obama complained about "fatcat bankers" and used nearly entire speeches from 1938.... I got angry, and scared. On to the Brits. They had a bad scare when a crazy guy killed a few people. They hadn't had that kind of thing happen since Victorian times, and the post WW2 England had lost a major percentage of the brave and good adult males. The Socialists had gained power, like here, today, and they reacted by demanding the Government "Do Something". So stupid and evil men together cranked up the Gun Control band wagon and the rest, as they say is history. You will perhaps notice that stupid, and evil people always crank up "gun control" and never "crime control" or "crazy control". That's because the stupid are stupid, and the evil don't want to control crazies or crime, they want to profit from it. So don't view England as a bunch of wussies. Instead see it as our future. We've had over a century of pure dripping evil murder over a billion people, not in war, but their own people, and work very hard to spread their system over the planet. As a former Politburo member said, right after the Soviet Union collapsed, Communism is not and never has been an "economic system" it's a con to allow a small group of people to control with an iron fist a very large number of people. A religion to sell to the masses as the savior of the Common Man to free him from the Yoke of the Oligarchs.... and chain him to the grey, crumbling concrete of the New Ones. England is a warning. This way to Bad Things. They still hang in there as a culture, mostly, despite being disarmed, despite deliberately evil immigration policies and despite deliberately evil manipulation of their economy. Jeez you guys need to get out more. The UK has no monopoly on stupid nannyism, though I admit they do it very well. If you want more stupidity just look what the great state of California has done. I recently discovered that if I'm driving one of our older trucks with a Tripac independent cooler/heater/generator unit. I'm not supposed to use it in CA as it doesn't meet their anti pollution regs. I can however leave the huge Cummins roaring away on a fast idle when I'm parked for as long as I want. I'm sure there's plenty more examples that you're aware of. | ||

But this isn't the UK nanny state. It's a bunch of Middlesex lifesavers doing a bit of lobbying as you lot call it for long pointed knives typically found in any kitchen but of no real use to be banned from sale. Why? Because they're used in lots of stabbings - and in particular, some of which might not have occurred had these types of knives not been to hand. The article concludes with a whole paragraphs worth of response from a government spokesperson and rep' from the Association of Chief Police Officers, both of whom state quite clearly regulations are already in force and the difficulty enforcing these laws and no doubt updated ones should they be so. This conveniently missed by the topic header which if the other way around U.S. nannies would have no doubt being referred to as trolling should I have penned such stupidity into a topic of its own. I once got dressed down by UK customs in Dover for having a baseball bat in the cab. It's classed as an "offensive weapon" as is a pick handle. I had a glove & ball with me at the time so they couldn't do anything as it's then classed as sporting equipment, pissed them off though. | ||

We can't find the Island" Of course it's absurd, ( the kitchen knife thing, the EU quote is accurate  ) and a rare show of intellect on the case of the Police Chiefs....... who in the U.S. are happy to join any "ban the scary thing!" cause. The real police here are much better defenders of civil rights than their bosses or unions. There's long been an issue carrying SCA functional, real, armor across the U.S. Canadian border. Not the weapon aspect, which always triggers the bureaucratic festival, but because the Canadians insist that my set of custom made "sport combat" armor is valuable & potentially for sale. Explaining it only fits me doesn't change anything.... so SOP is keep the armor in a bag and leave hockey gloves and pads on top in the trunk. Works.  Oddly my Squire sister ( & heavy combat fighter ) is a grad student who has had zero problems shipping a full set of armor back and forth from NY to England! It may help that she's an Archeology student, and that she's hot. Actually Rocket, such a mocking attitude on the nanny state and the flawed concept of the perfectibility of man... is welcome anytime. Beware the Fresh Fruit! | ||

Well Court we have a Place In Wv that we need to get some work done on and rent out So you can try Out Wv and the best Part for you is walking distance to the family airport. You would love the place Call it a Badwebbers hang out with planes Moms cousin built in the early 50s DOUGLAS Gun Barrels are cousins as well. Uncle Doug is a buck skinner and a Knife maker / Machinist. You would fit in well. And if you want to work the land we have a large area that needs re clearing for farming. I have plenty of room kids off to school and a garage full of Buells So if winter hits you too hard head on down head on down to Fl.
