Props to those men! Besides the violence, the dishonest reporting must be stopped. It's become a plague upon us all.
No mention of his assault or robbery at the store, no mention of his defying police orders to get off the street. No, he was just walking and was shot six times for no reason. People are free to look and sound ignorant if they want. I try to overlook it and see the person. Don't tell anyone they can't say it doesn't look and sound ignorant though, because it clearly does. I don't know what to do about the media that would have enough power to fix it, but that wouldn't then have enough power to quash it. I think the fact that Fox has eaten CNN's lunch is the best hope. Quality and balance will win in the long run, and the free market will eventually run its course. If NPR wasn't artificially propped up by extorted funds from taxpayer, I think the playing field would level faster. Right now it's an anchor and resource for tilting the field to the left without accountability to all the people forced to pay for it. | ||

Officer fires one round through the floor of his cruiser Officer slams his head into steering wheel hard enough to fracture orbit of eye Officer orders kid to stand still and kid starts to run. Officer fires additional 6 shots, at least 5 of which travel past kid, turn 180 degrees in the air, and then impact kid. Uh, yeah, sounds legit.  | ||

When all is said and done this is a gun problem..... UK police take no shit - no one would be dead if this had happened in the UK. By now a police officer would be on sick leave and possibly in hospital. A big boy 18 year old would be in police custody and facing some serious charges which would result in a lengthy custodial sentence. Rocket in England | ||

Apparently, UK police take all sorts of &^&^, if they have to get their asses kicked until reinforcements show up. Then they sit on leave or in the hospital until big boy is sentenced. Or do they work in pairs? I was in a couple of places in the UK that felt pretty damn sketchy to me (the less nice side of Sutton, and some public housing area we went past on the way to get something to eat up towards oxford). Never did see many cops, I assume they were all behind the ubiquitous surveillance cameras. What is the time for the second cop to respond? I do find the UK police philosophies having some merit. But I don't know how much of it just works because of UK cultural values (that may be fading). | ||
