Still say you are splitting hairs, and since a rock can be a missile, I disagree.

Arguably, by your standards, Hamas is shooting rockets, mot missiles. Like the rockets from the Star Spangled Banner, fired from British ships, unguided, free flight missiles.

If you want to argue that one of 2 definitions is wrong, go ahead. Enjoy.

By the dictionary...

An arrow is a missile. So is a Trident.

Far more important is the delusion ( someone else's, not yours ) that modern technology is Omniscient, and that a 1990's Radar station in England can give us video of a tiny object that many miles beyond the horizon.

Also the mistake that it's wise to show the Enemy how good our drones and Satellites are by printing pictures from them to settle an internet debate.

Putin should be well aware of his actions, and surely doesn't need proof. ( guilty or not ) Obama never is aware of his own actions, he finds out what he's done on the news.

THAT'S a freaking sad commentary right there.

A rock can be a missile, if you're using the colloquial meaning of missile. However, when the topic is modern self propelled weapons, a missile is a very specific thing. It is a guided weapon. Rockets are unguided. Hence, the V2 is a rocket, and the sidewinder, hellfire, patriot, minuteman, etc. are missiles. English is a nuanced and complex language. Different words can have the same general meaning, but some more accurately describe the topic, and should be used when appropriate. I simply wanted to clarify what I meant by missile.

Speaking of the V2, and I know you're very familiar with their history...there's a pretty good documentary on netflix about them. It's an episode of the Nazi Mega Weapons series. Worth your time.

So much for the poor innocent Russians theory.

Oh you mean since Thursday after the shit Russia's been accused of since MH17.....

and had more companies prevented from trading with her, and fresh sanctions drawn up as we speak.

Yeah Russia's really got a plan. Had it all along.

Like I said months ago. All that's gonna happen is some idiots in the West waking a sleeping giant. Time will come when American's will die on Ukrainian soil. You'll get your chance no doubt.

Fylingdales.

According to one of their senior staff, when you're invited for a look see and a talk on what they do there, it's explained as them having a mushroom shaped cover over a piece of the world. Same as in Greenland and Alaska - making the mushroom larger - and able to cover all of Europe and western Russia. If ANYTHING goes up from under the mushroom it pushes the mushroom skin upwards and is seen by them. So not your conventional radar systems it seems. Hey but what do I know - except what they tell to invited 'special guests'.

No doubt the experts here will explain it better and put paid to the explanation given from the horses mouth ; )

Wrong pedantic hypocrite.

I'm the other one.

Putin is no Hitler. Obama is closer, ideologically, but while he enjoys ordering killings, he's not Hitler either.

It's silly to call anyone else Hitler, and it cheapens the millions of victims of The Chancellor, so it would be nice if we didn't misuse the name.

Also, Hitler did everything legally, after he stole the election. Can't say that about Obama.

"mushroom"? close enough in layman's terms. You should have a good shot at seeing anything thrown into space from the Ukraine, just fine. Should see some things as low as 30,000 ft, like an airliner or a Bomber, don't know that a little rocket/missile/SAM at that range will show up.... not sure it wouldn't.

My comment about not showing the other side your resolution still holds, but as we know from Clinton, Obama, and Congress, telling a reporter a juicy tidbit to get fawned over, no matter who might die as a result, happens often enough for Intel people to not ever want to talk to a Politician, unless they are forced to, or corrupt themselves.

You're an idiot. All you can do is talk about what you think I am whilst you continue to ignore the real issues.

You post silly cartoons yet you couldn't form a personal opinion other than to blame Russia and Putin for something you haven't got a clue about. If anything this topic should have afforded you an education on events Ukraine. Instead it appears you're one of 'those' Americans who would pull the trigger without questioning why no matter what.

As for those Russian troops amassing on the border, they are. Are because Russia has been under attack and like I've been telling all along, there will come a time when they say enough is enough.

Given most recent events Ukraine - government collapse, Yatsenyuk resigning (the same Yats whom Victoria Nuland [America] manipulated into power - remember the phone call )the NO morale amongst Ukraines army. The money to fund the Ukraine military running out come August. Rather telling how these news events are NOT making big headlines in the west. Could it be 'they' don't want the Dogs of the west to see more of the truth. You know, like Ukrainian missiles, bombs, rockets, whatever you call them - falling into Russia. Yep I don't doubt there's 15000 Russians ready for action Jackson. I also hear there's talk of Russia arming separatists with many rocket launchers - no doubt since they've been accused of downing MH17 they're thinking 'if the coat fits we might as well wear it'. Or is it more a case of ' in for a penny in for a pound'. Or better still, good ole..... sorry, bad ole mother Russia are thinking 'THEY MIGHT AS WELL BE HANGED FOR A SHEEP AS A LAMB'. Yeah that's it. So, soon we'll see U.S. troops on the ground in Ukraine. Russia will go in, and the Reindogs will have their day.

The crisis in Ukraine got even worse on Thursday with the collapse of the ruling coalition in Ukraine's parliament. Two of the biggest parties in the ruling coalition withdrew their support, leaving Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk without enough votes to continue governing, so he resigned.

Chamberlin emboldened Hitler

The problem is with your comment, documents released years later paint a slightly different picture towards Chamberlain's pre war actions. Back then he was widely criticised, though today's historians show more favour to his decision making back then.

And let's not forget, Germany's increased aggression in Europe and its eventual invasion of Poland, had Chamberlain declare war on Germany.

He favoured a coalition government to fight the war, though the Labour and Liberal parties would not form a government headed by him. Hence his resignation, with Churchill stepping up to the plate.

I'm far from educated enough on the subject but I doubt very much I'd be here today no matter Chamberlain's pre war decisions had he NOT declared war on Germany. I'm fairly certain without Chamberlain's actions Germany would be a world superpower today and the picture of Europe (at the very least) would be an unimaginable one and European life very different than it is now.

Rocket the issue is how Hitler perceived Chamberlin as a weak leader and cowardly man.
When Chamberlin met Hitler Chamberlin showed up in Pre WW1 passenger ship Hitler came in a New Pocket Battleship.

This is the same problem we will soon have with Obama People will judge our country by him rather than who we really are as a country.

Rocket, I love ya buddy but yo are way out in left field on this one. Putin is playing chicken with the EU. He is making every effort to rebuild as much of the old Russian/USSR empire as he can. Georgia a couple of years ago, Ukraine now, the Baltic countries next. These are both simple conquests of some other countries borders. Perfectly acceptable and condoned behavior 100 year ago. We did it as did Britain, Germany, France, Japan, etc. Sometimes right next door, often in other continents but always aggression prettied up with a variety of excuses.

The US ( and really the UK) has very limited options but the EU could make this very painful for him but they seem to be unwilling to pay the economic costs of freezing Russian trade with the EU. France want to sell him expensive ships, Germany wants the cheap oil and gas flowing. The other EU countries are concerned the whole fragile economy of the EU will tank if real sanctions come in.

I don't think he will push too hard on any NATO countries, he is not insane but will keep nibbling at the edges of the old empire as long as the EU lets him. If they are willing to risk seeing the oil and gas cut off I think he will back down. He needs to sell it more then they need to buy it. If they don't in 5 years he will have an alternate customer in China and if they are still dependent on it they are in a world of hurt.

Dave one of my engineers did a Job for the New College in Riyahd the reason for the college being built was to develop new sources of energy. And Yes The Bin laden Construction company built it. with contract labor from se asia. The Saudi Electric Company stated they only had 30 years of oil left at current consumption rates.
They are pumping 8 barrels of water to get 1-2 barrels out of their existing wells
Geopolitical balance of power is based on the availability of oil. Every war since WW1 has been fought over control of oil reserves.
The greenies can whine all they want to every thing uses oil we are as much a one crop culture of the plains indians were on the Bison.
If oil production slows in the Mideast its to Putins advantage. Which is why we need to develop our own resources. It gives us more options in dealing with Putin etal

The reason the USA won WW2 is because the American people were willing to make sacrifices to support the war effort.

notice you point out drug use twice in this - you know that other presidents have used drugs, right?
and what does him not having a father have to do with it? Not having a father means a person can not be successful? If so, I feel for every child that lost their father in ww2 or any conflict, shame they'll always be weak because of it...

Dave, where does the proof exist which shows Putin nibbling at these places you speak of?

Ukraine is not one of them. In fact it's more a case of everyone in the West trying to pull Ukraine away from mother Russia.

Half the country is Russian born. As Crimea proved, a huge majority of the Russian Ukraines want to stay under a Russian umbrella. No one in the West is listening.
