I've had a week that would make a Roller Coaster designer jealous. On Wednesday, I attended my oldest friend's funeral. I first met him before Kindergarden. As kids, we both loved bicycles; then when we were old enough, we both fell in love with motorcycles. The funeral really stirred up a lot of strong feelings and memories. Yesterday (Thursday) I got a call in the morning for a potential job. I went to the interview just after lunch, and things were looking pretty positive. Then, just after I got home, two other agencies called with jobs. This morning, a fourth agency called me with a fourth job offer. So I'm going to be interviewing on both Monday and Tuesday.Things were looking up and I was feeling pretty good. Then, I went to the Urologist's office for my follow up Cystoscopy. I was expecting to hear that the BCG treatments had done their job, but I was going to need at least one more series of three treatments. Instead, there is still cancer in my bladder, and I have to go back to the hospital and get another biopsy taken. Hopefully, I'll be able to do another series of 6 BCG treatments. If the biopsy shows the cancer is advanced, I'll have to have my bladder removed. This was not what I wanted to hear. I'm glad that we're going to the Stamford Dinosaur on June 14th, 'cause the biopsy is scheduled for the 18th. I'll be a bit more accepting of the situation tomorrow, but tonight, I'm feeling pretty low. |

Hang in there, Crusty. Maybe you're like the guy in a recent meme I saw- "God never gives you more trouble than you can handle. Well, he must think I'm a badass." Prayers sent. |

Today, I accepted the job that I think will serve me best for the time being. It's a two month Fixed Contract doing some testing on medical devices. The job will be boring, but it pays well and it's a second shift position which will leave me mornings to get my weekly BCG treatments if the cancer proves to be treatable. Hopefully, everything will fall into place, and this cancer will be defeated. I hope God does think I'm a Badass; I actually feel more like a wuss, though. |

P.S. - and eat BBQ . . . it's healing effects are amazing. There is a lot of truth behind that. Good feelings and positivism boost the immune system and keep stress on the heart down. Plus ribs are the best thing next to riding bikes and getting lucky. I vote Crusty as a Badass as well. |

Crusty, Congrats on the new job and keep fighting! I hear BBQ helps maintain strength... I found one of what I think is the drain plugs you made sifting through some parts from an S3 carcass I bought from a chopper guy years ago... wonder what the story is on that- my M2 still has the one you made with it. Made me log on and see how things are. Our thoughts and prayers are with you! |

Hey Crusty! Hope you are feeling well. I've been thinking about you. You're a talented machinist.....make a Bazootie for that problematic bladder thing! The Bazootie you made for the '06/'07 Uly X still works great! A latex balloon, some small aluminum square stock, some manifold type holes, some press fitted tube stubs, a little machining with some precision fitted clamping bolts..... |

On Wednesday the 18th, I go and get another biopsy taken from my bladder. Once it's analyzed, I'll know what my options are. |

Today's update; now, I'm not getting the biopsy taken until next Wednesday, the 25th. My Cardiologist went ballistic when he heard that the Urologist wanted me to stop taking my blood thinner. Now, I have to get an injection of some other drug a day or two before the procedure so I won't bleed to death from it. I tell ya, getting old is not for the faint of heart. |

Be careful with that blood thinner being taken away. Make sure both doctors are on the same page with it. A buddy of mine had a major stroke because a surgeon took him off the blood thinners without consulting his heart specialist. Took him four years to be able to speak a full sentence again. Hell, he is five years younger than us, having had this problem ten years ago. |
