Right chaps, my 02 Jeep has the original radio/cd player in it & I have no intention of replacing it, so I want to burn my mp3 files to CD-R to play in the car.

This netbook has Windows media player, which should do it but won't. So I want freeware to burn audio cd's.

What's best/easiest for a cheapskate ignoramus with little patience such as I?

Windows Media Player 11 should do it for you. Open up Windows media player 11 click on burn. Drag files to be burnt either playlist or album. Click on start burn. Media player will automatically convert.

When you say it won't work, is there a message that comes up or it just doesn't start?

What version are you using?

CDBurnerXP is free and works great for burning any kind of disk. Despite the name, works great on Win7/8.

If all you want it for is to play your iPod or whatever, this is another idea.

Media player gives me a message that it couldn't burn the disc & to check the icons (yellow triangle) next to the relevant files, except there's no icons.

I'll have a look at those other programs thanks.
