Time for renewal, unfortunately I live in Michigan and there is a thing called "Michigan Your Fault" and a MCCA fee which adds $150+ per car.
Any cut rate companies out there that you guys are using?
Thanks

As somebody on a motorcycle who was hit by a driver with USAA, I can say they treated me fairly and respectfully. That's one reason to give them your business.

I hear great things about USAA also but have no experience with them.
I recommend finding an independent agent, who has contracts with multiple companies. He should have a feel of the industry, seeing many companies' rates and where rates and service are headed for each company. Trust me, there are some serious changes going on for some companies.
Talk to family and friends, see if they have an agent they trust - important from all angles.

Only thing is with USAA, either you have to have been in the military or it gets passed down from your parents. Or something like that I believe. Unless that's only life insurance

I recently switched to American Family, great service so far, and it cut my monthly car ins by $45 a month, with much higher coverage.

I haven't needed to use it yet but I have esurance. It was about 50% the cost of EVERYONE else. I had allstate before and checked pretty much everywhere, including USAA who were even higher than allstate.

I have insurance through Warren Buffett. Anyway, what is "Michigan your fault"?

I use National General (Formerly GMAC) for my cars. Progressive for the X1.
