There are those pesky facts again,

want to bet many blacks that voted for obama did so out of a sense of pride?
{ I can understand that }

Voting him in the second time baffles me though ???

"sensitivity training" Sorry Fred they will never give me the PC enema...

The simple truth is that whites are not the only racists, you need only look as far as Al Sharpton..

So the African/Americans that are in leadership positions in the Pee Party must be part of the 7% of African/Americans that didn't vote for Obama because the other 93% did.

OK. Trying for the Captain Obvious award. I have no doubt that the blacks, whites, hispanics, asians, etc. in the Tea Party pretty much didn't vote for BO.

I don't think I would emphasize blacks in leadership positions in the Pee Party. You look foolish.

The truth makes me look foolish? Perhaps to the fool.

Sorry Terry

I take my Bible as "Proof"
Faith is believing in things that you can't prove,[ see, hear, smell, taste, feel ] like when we go bombing into a corner that the tires will hold and the bike will turn as we expect it to based on our faith in our machine our skills and judgment.

"My" Bible has numerous accounts of encounters between man and the living GOD and later his Son, when the Jews left Egypt
a pillar of Fire by night and a pillar of cloud by day, food falling from the sky,
Yeah I don't think any one made that up I think that there were many many witnesses
to the events.
It is an inspiring thing to read.

Please read the Exodus and tell me why you would not believe?

The lost did make animals/wind/stars/sun etc.... "gods" because they did not know the truth, or chose not to believe.

I hope you find this reasonable fred says I need "sensitivity training"

I think fred don't like being shown the facts...

Sensitivity Schmensitivity.

The thing about the bible, is it was written by man for man. They even left some of the books out because they were too controversial. Plus so much has been lost in translation and the New Testament is a rewrite so as not to offend or alienate too many people.

If people actually read some of the previous translations or versions closer to the original texts, they would realize that a lot was lost in the translation and there are way more people pretending to be disciples of god that there really are. Most western preachers and religious icons would be run out of town with pitchforks. Especially the King James version, which most of the "Christian" following relies upon (which was done during a specific time period for among other reason, political gain).

If you go back and research when the specific events took place, the accounts of them relied upon witnesses that were not around when the book was written. Not to mention that natural phenomenon looks like magic in the eyes and brains of the uneducated masses (which is just how the church likes it).

Faith is belief in the unknown. When I bomb into a corner (many times to and from work), I _know_ my tire pressure is correct. I _know_ I have plenty of rubber left to grip. I know what my skill level is and if I am riding above it. I also know the capabilities of my bike and if I am pushing it.

I've been around the block, read many different versions of the bible, studied religion from different view points (Baptist, Catholic, Born Again, Jehovah's Witness) and even though it was supposedly written by man from the word of a god, the stories while similar are not always the same and go back to children's stories told by parents to scare the kids into certain behavior. Stories that pre-date any bible.

At one time I did believe, then I actually decided to investigate the various religions to see which one had it right. It always comes down to control. The Bible is a nice story, but that's all it is. A work of fiction.

Back OT:

When presented with 2 bowls of shit to eat, you would normally choose the less one. Same thing happened when Shrub got elected twice. A known quantity/flavor of shit is generally more appealing than an unknown quantity/flavor of shit. Welcome to the human race. Not always logical, but usually predictable.

Is that sensitive enough for you guys or do you need some flowers?

Oldog: this is the oldest trick in the book. Your use of the word "they" makes you an indelible racist in the Troll's mind. It is the same joke line that was in Dave Chappelles's skit when the white roommate said, "you people" to a roomful of black folks. Not sure why you guys keep taking the Troll's bait as his only desire is to get attention from others by insulting people and calling names like a six year old would do. "Pee party" indeed.

Terry
There is some truth to what you say that man edited and translated the Bible from the original to various other languages,

I believe that it is divinely inspired.

I also believe that GOD leads a true believer to understanding of its meaning for his or her life.

I am sorry if I sound "preachy" I certainly am not a model Christian, but I try to defend my faith its one of the few things in my little world that is really worth defending.

I look for the repression of Christians in America to start soon, along with the disarming of the citizenry.

We agree to disagree, sorry no flowers

Oldog: this is the oldest trick in the book. Your use of the word "they" makes you an indelible racist in the Troll's mind.

In his mind I was wrong before I typed the first word in reply...

Watching the lefties twist things is educational and at times entertaining, too bad they are in authority in government.

[ this would be entertaining if I were not forced to participate ]

They "feel" that all the "Right" propose is wrong or evil, [ logic never enters it ]

having discourse and watching others ( you and Blake are two that come to mind ) with the freds has taught me a great deal

One is that when certain key phrases are used, these are to gin up emotion in place of providing facts or reasoning..

"for the children" = catch all

"The good of the community" = = we know best do it our way

"fairness" / "social justice" = we know best do it our way

"income equality" = justification for theft

"sensitivity or PC" = dismissing of facts by means of hyper sensitivity / blunting or dismissing others views as wrong or crass..

fred says I need sensitivity training, I am STILL LAUGHING about that, like I said entertaining ........

should I send flowers ?

Here's a fact for Fred that he will probably ignore.

Under Obama the median income of African Americans has gone down and the poverty rate has gone up.

Buried in a New York Times story about the economy was this arresting statistic: Median family income for black Americans has declined a whopping 10.9 percent during the Obama administration. It has declined for other groups as well — 3.6 percent for non-Hispanic whites and 4.5 percent for Hispanics - but the figure for blacks is huge. This decline does not include losses suffered during the financial crisis and the recession that followed, but it instead measures declines since June 2009, when the recession officially ended.

That's not the only bad news for African-Americans. The poverty rate for blacks is now 25.8 percent. The black labor force participation rate, which rose throughout the 1980s and 1990s, has declined for the past decade and quite sharply under Obama to 61.4 percent. The black unemployment rate, according to Pew Research, stands at 13.4 percent. Among black, male, high school dropouts, PBS' Paul Salmon reports, the unemployment rate is a staggering 95 percent.

The funny thing about this is that according to progressive thought, including BO himself, and it been held up in court cases, disparate impact is proof of racism. Of course, I don't really believe BO to be racist against blacks. There's plenty of examples of his racist statements against whites though.

Liberals would provide the ultimate in entertainment if you could just keep them out of positions of authority. When that happens they seem to turn tyrannical in a hurry.

Non sequitur. The senate has not taken up any jobs bills passed by the house, let alone passed one. Reid gets his marching orders from the President. It DOES follow that the house can not be responsible for this, since little of their legislation is ever considered by the senate, much less brought to a vote. And if you're blaming the house for bad laws that have been passed, an equal share of that blame rests on the senate and the President.

About the only things getting put into law these days are the decrees from the White House, since Reid isn't in a position to ignore them.

You're delusional.

That's thousands of jobs. Construction jobs are, by their very nature, temporary. You work, then you move on to another construction project. Guess what? No project, no job. May as well assert that we shouldn't build anything since the jobs aren't permanent.

And that ignores all the jobs created or sustained in the supply chain. Someone has to manufacture all that pipe, all those fittings, all those valves, all the IT infrastructure that controls and monitors the pipeline. Your political leanings (and the places you get information) are compromising your ability to think clearly.

Show me the amount of money the SEIU pumps into campaigns, and then show me how much money the Coch brothers give. You're in for a rude awakening. Or, I suspect, you're not.
