Amazing to me, seems some people want to praise Obama and stand behind him regardless of how bad of a job he does... just because he is of color. Some white, most black... for different reasons... either consciously or unconsciously, use the race card when things do not go their way or can't come up with enough logic in their own minds as to why people do not like the job Obama and his administration are doing. | ||

It's amazing to me that the largest thread on a Buell motorcycle forum is a constant rant about the inferiority of the black american president. It seems to me that either consciously or unconsciously, middle aged, middle class, white american Buell riding males are still freaked out by having someone other than one of their own in the seat of presidential power. It's racism pure and simple. Strong accusation there. With so many potential examples out there, I'm sure it would be easy for you to find a few examples of this racism. Yeah, didn't think so. | ||

Wow! I go to a Buell meeting last night and you guys have been rocking out on this thread. The usual histrionics of the Left are once again revealed when they lose logic and reason and let pure emotion become their sole argument. If anyone has read this thread and sees nothing but racism, then I suggest that person making the accusation is a racist. Show the evidence of racism on this thread or stand down. The posters who oppose the pResident's policies have spent a lot of time presenting reasoned arguments with supporting documentation (yes, even cartoons for the visually stimulated crowd). The same can not said to be true for the few posters who support the current pResident. This is disappointing as most of us are here to learn. greatlaker, you have done yourself a disservice with your emotional outbursts but thats okay. My feelings can not be hurt here. I would like to see you reach an attentive audience by arguing WHY you support the current American President. I am listening. PS: If you don't already know, the reason why I don't respond to the troll is that he posts here under a false identity and is a liar who has lost credibility. As you can see for yourself, all he is capable of is hurling insults. In short, he is nothing short of a troll. I eagerly await reading your REASONED responses because I know you are capable. | ||

Well, let's see. Middle aged? Eh, a really gracious person might put me in the north end of that category. Middle class? Yeah, probably qualify on that count. White American? Yes. Buell riding? Yes again. Disagree with the president (not the black president, BTW, the president)? Yes. What you attempted to do there was substitute correlation for causation – as in since we are middle aged middle class white american Buell riders we must me racist. Not the case. Just happens to be that, believe it or not, you are on a Buell website frequented by a very large demographic that happens to dislike the president’s job performance thus far. Entertaining, I did not know I was a racist, funny I don't remember attending KKK rallies, burning crosses in any ones yard, I guess its because I don't like THUGS, or LIARS. Oldog, Back in the '80's, the A10 was taken out of active duty and given to the Air Guard. One of the squadrons was based in Maine, and while traveling to a school in Bangor along the ME Turnpike, I saw cars pulled over on the shoulder with people standing and watching. A formation of A-10's were practicing attack runs low across the highway to a field on the far side, pulling out, then circling back around for another go. The lady in the car in front of me asked me what they were; I told her they were A-10 Thunderbirds (Warthogs), and they were tank-killers. She said, "Well, whatever they are, I wish they'd stop it!" It was when she said that that I realized that for those of us who had never seen combat, the way they were flying was truly unnerving: On the pullout, they flipped inverted to meander back for the next run, looking for their prey, then pulling it all in to dive down toward us. Not your normal Cessna flying, for sure. The Soviets referred to it as "The Devil's Cross"; silhouetted in the sky, I could see why. Black, wings as wide as the body was long, definitely sinister. There will always be a need for a plane like that (or the plane before it, the A-1 Skyraider)... | ||

The warthog may be old but for fixed wing ground support its quiet agile and tough. I would not send it to the breakers Chauly walking across the yard from the shop to the office, perhaps 150 feet, I heard the plane about 10 seconds before It streaked over head maybe 200ft up I have watched footage of the GAU8 cannon, not something I would "elect to receive" well I have to wonder if perhaps a modernized version of the aircraft could be built using the same thinking, making it survivable... and update its nav and other systems. perhaps even looking at trying to enhance its stealth | ||
