Many of you remember when I carried the Team Elves banner Downunder in 2006. As a result I formed some lasting friendships and ended up forming a racing team with Greg Watters and Kim Krebs. www.blackartracing.com .
Well Greg is a fireman like me,a lieutenant in the county fire agency where he lives. He was fighting a wildfire this past week in a nearby town when the winds shifted. He and his crew raced home. He got his wife and belongings out. The fire, fueled by high temps and winds raced through his property. His home was saved as was most of the farm equipment. He had moved his bikes out of his shop to an open area but it did no good. It destroyed or damaged both racebikes and his roadbike as well as destroying his shop with the dyno, spares and his tools. And this just weeks before Speedweek in Australia. If I was not recuperating from surgery I would be on my way to help!
If anyone wants to help they can send money to my Paypal account. buellrydr1@msn.com

Sorry to hear. I expect, being a fireman, they were well insured.

I had a friend who lost his shop and workshop, and all stock, when I massive fire ripped through his business. The fire started by a 15 year old thug who broke in but could not manage to steal a car, so set fire to it.

My friend was not insured it transpired. With help and some clever use of space, and a bit of cash, the business was up and running within a few weeks.
