Thanks
I spent five years in the trenches ringing the bell against this g-d healthcare bill; none wanted to hear it, they were quite happy to blindly drive it in the ditch; feeding only on the propaganda of the bill - and NOT the content, intent, and trajectory of the bill.

I am quite done. I know my name is on a list somewhere- and I am out before the domestic lackeys come.

Do svudyanay (until we see each other again)
I have found great insight and intelligence here on the board - the likes of which I do not meet in my daily battles against this mess.
I post here so that others that have not read the bill - may know what it is in there, and not trust blindly what the talking heads have said.
And if you have found anything that I said was off on - I am happy to have a discussion and debate. But be prepared - bring facts, studies, history, and evidence, because I don't give a flying frig about your propaganda and ideology from the DC Center.

Party On Comrade.

Geedee! That video!

All I can say about 9/11 is I'm told by a person who's batsh.. paranoid, tinfoil wearer... and should be reviled by us all, that the twin Towers had nukes planted in them.... and that furthermore, All skyscrapers have them. I wasn't able to quite figure out how vaporising the basement of a building was supposed to protect the ones next to it, and am a little vague on how it makes sense from a security point of view or who is in charge of the whole thing. But there you go.

Personally, I don't buy it. The tv footage of the Towers shows classic fire pancake failure, not "the basement blew up". It would be interesting to use a time machine to put a sensor in the fire to see how hot tons of flaming paper, plastic and carpet mixed with a few thousand gallons of jet fuel actually got. Ditto other sensors.

Of course, if you had a time machine, you Have to go back and Kill Hitler.

The guys who started the 911 conspiracy theory vids that went viral have admitted that they did it purely for entertainment value (and no doubt attention as well). They were initially afraid of a public backlash until it took off running. I think people were too caught up or too emotionally invested to care.

Meh, I have a pretty thick skin for name calling, you have to step meaner and more in my face than a USMC Drill Sgt.
If an argument gets to name calling and personal attacks - it means they have burned through what ever rhetoric was supporting their talking head babble, and reflects nicely back on them.

After Re-reading Atlas Shrugged, I get why Erik Crushed the Blast - still a gut check; but I get it.

Hay Brian I don't see any reason you can't blog from the Ukraine. You might get in trouble for commenting on things in the Ukraine, but maybe you could comment on things happening in America as seen thru the filter of the local media.

Yep, daily. It is not any more truthy than our main stream media - but it does look through the kaleidoscope from a different angle. And it hits harder in Russian than in English. (they are NOT a fan of the O )

There is no truth in media - theirs or ours; neither of them want you to have a full picture, and certainly not one that they don't promote. Freedom of thought, research, investigation and inspection are NOT the things they want you to embrace - or even contemplate.

It is the Black Sheep Harley commercial ...

"yes, yes, you are different, you are unique - you are black sheep; ALL of you...."

Once you see the lie - nothing else looks the same.

No doubt some of you will have seen this already.

Not a mosquito.
It's an insect spy drone for urban areas, already in production, funded by the US Government. It can be remotely controlled and is equipped with a camera and a microphone. It can land on you, and it may have the potential to take a DNA sample or leave RFID tracking nanotechnology on your skin. It can fly through an open window, or it can attach to your clothing until you take it in your home. ( Sorry to scare ya'll )

I'm curious about flight endurance. Would hitting one with an electric flyswatter recharge it?

Also would love to see how they made the grippers on the feet.

When the AR drone ( from France ) came out, my first thought was the scene from the movie "Animal House" with J. Belushi playing peeping tom.

Coeds were spied upon within minutes of the drone arriving at college dorms everywhere. I bet you a bajillion quatloos. http://ardrone2.parrot.com/

I tried searching for that mosquito drone. I wasn't able to find anything remotely concrete. I suspect it's an artist's production of something that looks "scary". The little syringe thing just looks like something out of a steampunk drawing.

I watched a video about google's purchase of Boston Dynamics (if you haven't seen/heard of Boston Dynamics, youtube them!). The commentator spent a lot of time assuring the public that this was a very, very scary thing. It quite reminded me of Bubba Gump's recitation of all things shrimp. Only with robots.

Hey, I'm all for skynet and terminators. I'd love to hack an HK or one of those sweet terminator cycles.

I hope google allows boston dynamics to still be "boston dynamics", just with the additional funds that Google can provide (but would it be more than DARPA funding?). I hope they don't just absorb the technology and put it on a shelf.

as for conspiracies - yeah, those videos are very convincing when they only show you what they WANT you to see.
Someone could make a video that makes it look like Buell is the ABSOLUTE worst company ever in existence if they were inclined - its all about showing only what you want to.

Statistics are the same way - make the survey a certain way and you'll get the 'results' youre looking for

I worked with an old Seabee, who served in Vietnam during the war. This was circa 1993. He told me that the navy had shown him training movies about a disease called "Black Syphilis" that was an incurable form of the disease. They were warned to not patronize prostitutes when on shore leave, lest they contract this death sentence.

I argued that syphilis was entirely curable, and that no antibiotic resistant strains existed. He insisted that it was true. I remained skeptical and dismissed him as a crackpot. He had lots of other wacky theories about the government.

Fast forward to 1997:

I think this was a case of plausible deniability. Conspiracies do exist.

I don't know about 'incurable', but there are anti-biotic resistant strains.

Not really right for this thread... but...

http://watchdog.org/125321/hawaii-marijuana-export /

Cabanilla said she hopes to legalize cultivation, manufacturing and exporting of marijuana and marijuana food products in Hawaii to pay off the state’s billions of dollars in unfunded liabilities as well as make infrastructure repairs and fund public education and human services programs.

“This state would turn into a manufacturing state. Can you imagine factories that would be making ‘Maui Wowie’ cookies and making marijuana macadamia nut candy for export? I think that would be wonderful,”

Back during the Regan era, A friend wrote 2 term papers for his Economic Degree. The one rejected ( as he anticipated ) advocated the legalization of Marijuana on economic grounds. By taxing using the existing alcohol bureaucracy and methods he calculated that the National Debt ( remember, this was back in Regan's day ) could be paid off in 5 years. Not the deficit, ( over a trillion$ each year under Obama ) The Debt. ( which was only 4 Trillion during the Clinton years )

He had me check his math, and his faculty adviser, and the numbers were good.

It makes one wonder. An America free of debt. Legal Pot while Obama was in Law school. How different a world would today be?

CityX, I heartily endorse your choice of new residence. I was attached to the 2ID for CAS/BI (what they used to call it back in the day) in the 1990s.
Looking forward to your new thread; I recall lots of great food and drink to be had in and around Uijongbu and Tong Du Chon, if memory serves (stay away from Soju on school nights). Didn't partake of the girls, but had I been a single man; Oh, my goodness (The things you see when on Town Patrol...).
Don't be afraid of going north of the Han River; that's where the best of South Korea begins.
Really interested with your perspective of a civilian (I'm assuming) with a motorcycle in the ROK. Are you taking a Buell? One time in convoy, I was passed by a guy on a Gold Wing with what appeared to be a local national riding pillion. Got me to thinking about a tour of the peninsula some day.

Ah Soju - pure white lightning - colorless, odorless, tasteless.... and you have no idea how messed up your are until you stand up.

Last time I was there for a 'Team' Paper exercise. One of the best times I have ever had. Because of my Russian / Soviet specialties - they put me on the 'Red' team..... We engineered a little mayhem - played outside of the lines and were on the way to 'winning' .... they had to pull the plug on the EX because - North Korea can't be allowed to win.... ooops.

Che Ju Do was my favorite- back then it was a closed island - I understand it is 'open' now, even with a Hilton on it (shame)

All my bikes are gone - I will either scam a Ural ST or a Street 750 ; either with knobbies of course.

I for one am very much looking forward to City's posts from Korea. He may be right, he may be wrong but he is always interesting to read and never seems to get ruffled no matter how much anyone gives him a hard time. Much like a few of my friends that were "team" members in their younger days. Good luck to you in your new adventure, should be some great mountain trails in Korea to ride on.
