For those not aware, lionfish have invaded America's reefs and, having no natural predators, are a dire threat to the health of the ecosystem. Even in the national marine sanctuary in the Dry Tortugas where fishing is absolutely forbidden, killing lionfish is encouraged. If a diver sees one, they're supposed to kill it.
So it was especially amusing to me that obamacare was depicted as the lionfish.
There was an article I saw that other day that sounded like a lot of rumor mongering but it said that Michelle will be divorcing Obama after the Presidency is over. I found it funny but maybe there is something to it.
After all, being married to such a huge narcissist can't be that much fun.
How would you like to be married to a control freak who..... has truth issues?
A husband who cares so little for the children that he'd run for President. Though to be fair, nearly the first thing he did was make it harder for the peasants in D.C. to go to his kid's expensive private school. So there's that.
Still, you have to have a bit of a burn knowing that he could care less that the kids will never, ever, have a real life, go on a real date without a helicopter with thermal sights on watch, or be allowed to play with actual children outside defined play dates with the aristocracy & constant surveillance by heavily armed Treasury employees.
Living in the White house is nice, sure, servants, all those quiet SS guys to get you coffee or ribs, a great chef, vacation cabins with Navy stewards and Marines to keep out the riff raff. Nice. But it's a really old building with small rooms, and remodeling gets all sorts of bad press, so hubby tells you if you don't like the rooms Eleanor R. liked, too bad.
Also the heating & ac systems are a little dated.
But it's only for a few years, and no doubt there will be a big mansion on Maui or Malibu waiting for her when these hard tomes are over. Barry's a millionaire, after all. Many couple go through harsh and budgeted living while they wait for the big break. True, the 747 private plane is nice, but you can't go anywhere without all those guards and armored vehicles. Just going to the store for some Doritos is a major production.
Imagine, you just want to walk around the block, because the sun's out and you've been cooped up. It could take hours for the SS to clear the 'hood, get the drones lined up, and prepare the snipers. Ruins the spontaneity.
But mostly it's a matter of being married to Barry. He uses woman on his staff, sure, ( but pays them 16% less than the men ) but sure never plays golf or hoops with them. In fact it's a little bit like Hillary, mirrored. Barry's group is quite the sausage fest. ( while Hillary surrounds herself with classy women )
And you get called by unkind racist jerks "the first beard". Doesn't that suck? At least you know that no one is going to do that to your face, since it's hazardous to your health to out Barry. ( but your staff clips this stuff for you anyway. What a pain to have a staff larger than Abraham Lincoln's and Eisenhower's combined! )
So, lay off knocking M. It's not becoming. Or as she would say..."Let them eat kale"
Couple of observations… 1) This Qumu guy probably shouldn’t have been released from Gitmo… 2) The NSA should have used it’s “Prism” system (the Big Brother system that watches you and I) to track him post release but apparently didn’t… 3) It took 16 months to figure out it was al-Qaeda and not a youtube video…
This sounds ominous enough ... cut copy past alert.
As a follow up to last year’s State of the Union, President Obama called on Congress to reinstate Presidential authority to reorganize and consolidate the federal government, which will ensure swift action on his proposals to streamline government to make it work better for the American people while eliminating duplication, waste and inefficiencies. “We live in a 21st century economy, but we’ve still got a government organized for the 20th century. Our economy has fundamentally changed – as has the world – but the government has not. The needs of our citizens have fundamentally changed but their government has not. Instead, it has often grown more complex. Today, I am calling on Congress to reinstate the authority that past presidents have had to streamline and reform the Executive Branch. This is the same sort of authority that every business owner has to make sure that his or her company keeps pace with the times. And let me be clear: I will only use this authority for reforms that result in more efficiency, better service, and a leaner government,” said President Obama
the last thing I want is this guy having 'more' power.
To avoid time-wasting diversionary arguments, I think Obama criticism should start on his inauguration day, although he certainly supported the mortgages for unqualified borrowers program before then. The chart in this link shows the main beef with his results: http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2013/07/how- bad-was-it-3.php
Yes, comrades, he did have a big recession to deal with, but for all his superior intelligence and best plans ever (period), it flat hasn't worked. And my kids and their kids will have to pay the bill for this failure.
How about we count from when Nancy took the gavel? Then we can blame GWB for not stopping the D's. Unlike the "Bushliedpeopledied" mantra, that's a legit bitch.
And now for a peak into the cult of personality.... “Another person’s narcissism”, Freud said, “has a great attraction for those who have renounced part of their own… as if we envied them for maintaining a blissful state of mind.”
The Democrats including Hillary, caterwauled that Afghanistan was the "good war" until it became otherwise due to political expediency. Never forget that Benghazi is in the exact same category.
I keep having this recurring dream that i wake up in the morning, turn on the news and see O being led down the Whitehouse stairs in handcuffs. (really, i have this dream a few times a month) I wonder if i can get in trouble for thinking (dreaming) this?
I am ambivalent about Gates's book. I may actually have to read it.... Instead of just listening to him defend himself..... for stuff he wrote he believed.
You can easily get the self righteous attitude that Gates should have quit in a spectacular way to try and stop Bush, or Obama, or whoever his boss is, when Gates perceived that the decisions being made were horribly wrong. I'm not sure that's the case.
As Sec Def, he had
1st, an obligation to his oath to uphold the Constitution.
2nd, to do the best job he could to make the Defense Dept. work. Specifically, to be a tool in the hands of the Elected Leadership, to defend The Constitution, America, etc. down to Western Civilization and Mankind itself.
3rd, is to take the orders from the idiot bosses. Politicians, Ferengi, student council politics geeks.
Sorta like the 3 laws of robotics. You'd better think that your quiting in a huff does some good, and that's a stretch for a Sec Def.
I doubt most of us, Americans, know who the current Sec Def is. Much less recite the last 3. I can't, off the top.
Opinion?
What it seems Gates is saying is that Obama's policy re: Afghanistan was badly motivated and certain to lead to ruin for lack of understanding and commitment.
Or something like that.
I totally agree with Gates about Biden. Biden's been wrong since he started, voting to screw the S Vietnamese back when Nixon was in charge. Most shameful episode in American History, how we abandoned Viet Nam to slaughter. "Screwjob Viet Nam". In Technicolor.
I fear we're watching the sequals being filmed, all at once, like a Peter Jackson project. Screwjob II Egypt, and Screwjob III Iraq, Screwjob IV Syria..........
