This is perhaps the very first time I have felt empathy with the pResident. [A long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away], my wife and I were at a Padres game sitting in the first row in the outfield. I started chatting with a woman to my right while Laurie sat on my left. I looked up, only to discover fifteen foot high video on the Jumbotron of me yakking it up with the woman. He is probably afraid that he is now exiled from the White House (which he probably is). There's a lot to that. Crappy parent(s) can produce crappy kids, and the argument on nature vs. nurture is old, and ongoing. ( I like the "Trading Places" take ) I'll go a bit further. When you walk into a house, is there anything to read? Houses full of bookshelves are far less likely to have a chalk outline on the floor. Does a parent read to the child? THAT makes a huge difference. A child who can read by the time he starts school, is way ahead of every child whose parents expect the School to teach him. Years ahead, and it gets to be a bigger gap over time. It's not just the head start, it's the reading material. I grew up in a house where we had Shakespeare, Verne, Spillane, and Fleming within reach, and by the time I got to 1st grade, Dick & Jane were seriously boring. They may be the zenith of adventure for some kids. I'd go even further, when a divorced Mom badmouths the absent sperm donor to the Son, he gets an attitude towards men. ( so do Daughters, but it's a different attitude ) However, we have an example of a divorced Mom telling her son the his Father is an idealist, a wonderful guy, and off fighting the good fight in a distant land, and we get a stoner control freak communist. So perhaps my theory here is invalid. | ||

I was in college with some of the Radical Revolutionaries that 'believed' the way of Lenin, Marx, and the Communist Shining Path. EVERY one of them was a dope head, not saying all dopers are dumb about government - but you could just not make this shiate up and make it work ; and the dumb stares when you bring up history or current Communist nations actions..... When his actions kill Mexican & American civilians for anti-civil rights propaganda points, however, I can only call for the only legal remedy. Impeachment, imprisonment. High crimes and misdemeanors. Yes, yes, I know, "what difference, at this point, does it make?". Makes an awesome mantra for a political party in a republic, eh? | ||
