I tend to abbreviate my "never minds"

Couldn't see any use for a long one.

I have more concern about Sifo's post.

saying he already has a long and its

Is he laying claim to someone else's long and saying tis tasty OR he grew his own long and tis tasty.
I would like that cleared up and then I would like to know who did the tasting?

never mind.... I don't think so

HeyMark!...........

Glad to see you are having family fun for Christmas!

If a long is long enough it can be a matter of self indulgence.....I saw it on the internet while I was perusing some web sights looking for a picture of you!.....Awww I fly upside down alone.....I mean I crack myself up!

Hey wait a minute! Isn't this technically an OIL thread?

never mind.... I don't think so

That might be the best course of action.

So... What is the best lube?

For silicon toys use a water based lube.

Silicon lube is very good. Long lasting, but harder to clean up. Do not use on silicon toys. They melt.

For engines I use a synthetic.

Oh! For AR's I use breakfree Clp, but I live in wet country and it will attract sand if you are in dry country.

Froglube has a good rep.

I ordered a case of Amsoil Signature 5W20 today for the personal blaster . . . . I'm a sucker for movie stars doing commercials and it's my little way of thanking the folks at Amsoil for believing in Erik Buell and Geoff May and for stepping up to the plate and putting their money and product behind what they believe.

Amsoil is a superior product among many great ones and it's a fine company.

No complaints from me.

I just had to change the oil in the 2006 Saab 9-3 (V6 Turbo) and 2005 Mini Cooper S (supercharged inline four) this afternoon (both were a little overdue and I was waiting for a day without 6 inches of snow).

I was amazed at the level of specificity in the owners manual. The Saab was the more lenient of the two, it specified any 0w30 or 0w40 that met a specific extended change interval specification proprietary to GM... there is exactly one oil brand and type available outside a GM dealer that meets that spec, Mobil 1 0w30 "Euro Car" edition (no joke). Nothing else on the shelf at the auto parts store, and nothing on the shelf at all at wal mart, is otherwise good enough. Part of this is because Saab runs a "oil wear computer" program for extended oil change intervals, so it has very specific expectations for oil wear.

The Mini Cooper S (really a BMW) required mini oil only. If you read through several pages and get far enough into the fine print and past many "your head will explode if you persist" warnings, you can find the actual oil spec, 5w30 I think it was, and it required full synthetic, and warned again your head will explode if you don't use Mini oil from a Mini dealer.

Just two datapoints, FWIW.

The test data mentioned earlier that can be found on the Amsoil site is a very interesting read. It wasn't done by Amsoil, but I can see why they use it to their advantage. They tested quite well in almost every category tested. It was surprising where some other major brands, that I still wouldn't hesitate to use, tested not as well in many categories. It's competitively priced and ships right to my door very quickly. I'm near one of their warehouses and get it withing 48 hours without any expedited shipping. What's not to like.
