Without going into any detail, ObamaCare is directly affecting the Buell community. Wise up, Liberals, you are shooting yourself in the foot with your continuing support of this mendacious President.

There is no denying that this rollout is a major screw-up and does make me wonder.

But I know a bunch of people who would benefit if it works out in the end.

I know quite a few who are losing their coverage because of this. I got an email from a good friend this afternoon who said her company just announce they are dropping coverage next year. Drudge Report has a headline about 300,000 in FL losing coverage, but it looks like the linked site is having problems. There were some things that could have been made better in our system, but it looks like we have cured the disease by killing the patient.

Thousands Of Americans See Their Health Plans Canceled
Kaiser Health News | By Anna Gorman and Julie Appleby Posted: 10/21/2013 5:07 pm EDT | Updated: 10/22/2013 12:06 pm EDT

Health plans are sending hundreds of thousands of cancellation letters to people who buy their own coverage, frustrating some consumers who want to keep what they have and forcing others to buy more costly policies.

...[T]he cancellation notices, which began arriving in August, have shocked many consumers in light of President Barack Obama’s promise that people could keep their plans if they liked them.

...Florida Blue, for example, is terminating about 300,000 policies, about 80 percent of its individual policies in the state. Kaiser Permanente in California has sent notices to 160,000 people – about half of its individual business in the state. Insurer Highmark in Pittsburgh is dropping about 20 percent of its individual market customers, while Independence Blue Cross, the major insurer in Philadelphia, is dropping about 45 percent.

...Blue Shield of California sent roughly 119,000 cancellation notices out in mid-September, about 60 percent of its individual business. About two-thirds of those policyholders will see rate increases in their new policies, said spokesman Steve Shivinsky.

On MSNBC, they are saying that repubs are basically lying when they say people are loosing hours from work (getting pushed to PT) and loosing their healthcare and have to go onto the ACA site to get it. They say only 1 in 1500 fit that situation.

Rubio has a new plan for Monday, I bet Reid doesn't pass it just because it is from a republican.

MSNBC could save themselves a lot of money by moving their studios to the White House.

As an added bonus, 0bama could then personally direct MSNBC's "news" broadcasts...

OBAMA DONT CARE!, He just care about his "legacy"... same with Pelosi and Ried. They want Obama to be KING. (or perceived as one) and they will do anything to get their way. It's all about saving face. Obamacare needs ALOT more work. But they will never admit it.

I still can't believe PELOSI has her job!?!?! "We have to pass it so we can read it" Are you effing kidding me??? Seriously?? This is what she wanted to pass?? She is the most incompetent POS in congress and should be fired immediately. She makes me puke at the site of her.

We ALL want decent and affordable healthcare for everyone.

To Quote Pelosi, after being asked how the ACA was Constitutional...."Are You Serious??"

The epithet "Peasant, how freaking DARE you??? " was unspoken, but well understood.

CNSNews.com: “Madam Speaker, where specifically does the Constitution grant Congress the authority to enact an individual health insurance mandate?

Pelosi: “Are you serious? Are you serious?"

CNSNews.com: “Yes, yes I am."

Pelosi then shook her head before taking a question from another reporter. Her press spokesman, Nadeam Elshami, then told CNSNews.com that asking the speaker of the House where the Constitution authorized Congress to mandated that individual Americans buy health insurance as not a "serious question."

“You can put this on the record,” said Elshami. “That is not a serious question. That is not a serious question.”

I'm confused. Is the ACA supposes to get more or less people covered by insurance?

Thousands Of Consumers Get Insurance Cancellation Notices Due To Health Law Changes

Florida Blue, for example, is terminating about 300,000 policies, about 80 percent of its individual policies in the state. Kaiser Permanente in California has sent notices to 160,000 people – about half of its individual business in the state. I was going to do some experimenting on healthcare.gov and wanted to set up an account to do so. Looks like it's back to not being able to create an account correctly. I tried multiple times getting this same error each time.

We're more than three weeks into this and you still can't create an account!?!?!? They really can't do anything right, can they. Maybe later...

Looks like the one who can't do things right is you, the error says you screwed up making security questions. For the hell of it I just made another account, again no issues.

Yep, that's what the message says. Three security questions. Three answers. I think I can handle that. At least after a few tries. This same problem was reported on the first week BTW.

Have you tried shopping for insurance and checking with the insurer to verify pricing?

Have you selected Illinois as your state?

That's simply not true Frank, Insurance companies have been forced to create new plan packages in order to comply with the ACA rules, and as a direct result it does not make sense for them to keep the old non compliant plan, which people would have to pay a government penalty in order to be able to purchase. Those plans simply went away.

This is not an abstract thing, my neighbor, who is a single widower trying to raise his daughter, had his premiums double based on being froced to move from a plan that the ACA eliminated to the closest plan that the ACA allowed.

If health care companies are so greedy, why doesn't somebody step up and create their own non profit insurance company that undercuts them by a bunch, and takes over the industry? Profits in that sector are there, but they aren't anything special, no more so than motorcycle manufactures or any other widgit builder.

I had NJ picked as the state (I picked it at random, but after logging in it lets you pick another state, so I set it to Illinois. Unfortunately I can't proceed to shop for insurance while logged in without verifying my (fake) information, but I can browse and get the estimated costs without logging in.
