Swat team? hell yeah!

Those clandestine blackberry bushes, & dangerous undercover tomatillo plants might put up some resistance.

I'm seeing more & more of these kinds of stories popping up, is it just that these things can no longer be hidden & everybody with a smartphone is a potential reporter these days, so we're hearing about them even though they're pretty uncommon.
Or is the law enforcement system in the US so ****ed up that the only default reaction is massive overkill?

I love you peeps & your beautiful country & hopefully will soon be belting along your roads, but this stuff worries me.

This then begs the question, are those in charge so stupid that they can't see how this behaviour will be received by the general public?

A. Yes they are that stupid, well how the hell did they get to that position then?

B. They're not that stupid, well why the f*** do they allow this stuff to happen?

Heads need to roll, public servants are there to serve the public not ride roughshod over them.

That Genie's been out of the bottle too long, he'll not be going back.

By the same logic your government should be disarming all the other nations of the world in the name of peace.

Oh yes I remember now, guy called Hitler tried that & it didn't work out.

Holy Crap.

I just took a break from cutting my grass (YES, GRASS, THE YARD KIND, OH CRAP, I SAID KIND, NOT THAT KIND), because the whole property looked extra crappy since I've not been able to really maintain the landscaping during my renovation build... AND, I'VE GOT A VEGETABLE GARDEN THAT'S OVERGROWN TOO...

Got some "spider" plants, aka "pins and needles", someone told me they look kinda like something else...

HALP!

Seriously- WTF over? Enter the PoPo Douche Brigades?!?!

Organic farming is immoral. At a time when the ethanol pipe dream is causing food prices to skyrocket, low yield farming is resulting in even higher prices. Rich folk on the yoga and "Organic" lifestyle kick can afford the increase, but most regular folk can not.

So screw these arseholes. They had probably just sold all the pot the day before. Look at the "dude" in the video and tell me he's not a pot head hippie. And don't think you're getting an accurate account of law enforcement's take on the matter from HuffPo.

Damn, I'm angry today.

Nope. Organic farming reduces overall crop yield, and increases food prices, just like ethanol from corn. Not to mention using more water for the same yield. The cost of food is now up to 50% of household income in some parts of the world, and incidences of food borne illness from e coli etc. are on the rise. All so some ignorant arsehole can eat a peach that was fertilized with poop.

Don’t take my word for it. And this is from a liberal rag.

And I can't just NOT buy organic food, and not be affected. Every farmer who switches to organic farming reduces the amount of regular food on the market. Every farmer who grows corn for ethanol instead of wheat or barley increases the cost of those grains and makes everything from bread to meat more expensive.

It is immoral. I don't blame the farmers. They're in business to make money. I blame the ethanol pushers and the people who believe that eating "organic" food (show me an inorganic carrot) will save the world.

I laughed out loud at a story yesterday on NPR, it was about some chilean corn like crop that is becoming trendy at upscale restaurants. NPR and the people they interviewed were falling over each other to try and figure out how to make sure the chilean farmers that bread the crop over the years got compensated when other countries inevitably start growing it. The consensus is that those farmers ought to be compensated for their hard work breeding the crop if others are using their genetic intellectual property.

You know, like protecting monsanto, or the drug companies that spend a fortune trying to figoure out what an effective medicinal chemical compound could be.

First, Hoot is right. Organic farming is a rich snob idiot phenomena.

Less pesticides, but not none, and in some cases more harmful ones. That's the "legal" definition of "organic farming".

Mostly it means using Shit instead of "chemical" fertilizer, and that practice has reversed a century long reduction in food poisoning in the US.

E-coli outbreak anyone?

Manure is supposed to be "sterilized" before using it on human food crops, but it's expensive to heat shit, and often not done very well.

Aside from a few meatpacking plant slobs, ( which Deserve your righteous indignation as to the "Man" and "greedy companies" ) most food poisoning cases in the last decade here are from organic produce. ( Also from Greedy companies )

If we converted to "Organic" farming, we'd kill a major chunk of humanity. It's that simple. I used to have the figures handy, but in rough numbers off the top of my head, so many would die of starvation, it would be about equal to killing Europe. And Africa. ( not them specifically, but that many people. Maybe just China. )

Let me make this clear, the BEST organic farmers on the planet, the Amish, raise HALF the crops on the same acreage as a regular commercial farmer. Half.

Hippies get an eighth or less. They'd get more, but pulling weed is back breaking labor. Literally.

The REAL "green revolution" that has enabled us to have this many people is mechanized, fertilized, pesticide saved crops. Crops bred for yield and disease/insect resistance.

Ask a real Farmer.

Now, some things have improved.... China almost makes enough of it's own food. Not quite, since they lie about everything, ( Cult of Mao Communists ) but far better than just a decade ago.

Back in 1970, Kansas raised more wheat than the entire Soviet Union.

Back in 2000, the richest farmland on Earth was a former sea bed known as the Imperial Valley. Today, it's returning to desert, to "save" a smelt, IIRC.

Throw in the Ethanol Mandate, aka Burning Food, and you can see that while the population of the planet has grown, very little extra food is being shipped.

This is WHY they had "The Arab Spring" revolutions. There are always revolutions in times of near famine.

The US hasn't had a famine in anyone alive's lifetime. We had a few rough spots during the Dust Bowl, and the "year without a summer". ( volcanic ash climate change, temporary )

But when half your income goes to food, it's just not possible to spend 3/4. So you overthrow the King. This is not new.

They don't seem to teach it any more, but it's real, and it's now.

As to the Use of Paramilitary Cops.......

I've complained about that a bunch lately.

Some ****** is going to get killed, and his house burned down, when unmarked machine gun wielding troops descend on his Dairy to stop him from selling unpasteurized milk.

AFAIK, no one's been killed yet, but that's because the &^(%$ have been picking mostly on Amish.

Several raids that looked like Tet on Amish Dairies in PA in the last few years. Seriously? yep.

There's going to be a raid on some guy

I can hear the call now....

"Police? I just shot 5 guys in masks who broke down my door. There's blood all over the place, and I need a fire truck because they threw some grenade thing through my window and the sofa's on fire. I was in the basement and heard the noise and when I came upstairs this maniac was screaming at me and waving a gun. I think it's a machine gun. Let me see? ( braaaaaapppp ) Yep, it's a machine gun. Damn druggies! Get the Sheriff out here, and send the meat wagon before I get flies................ What? I'll check......... Yeah, there's 2 cop cars and an armored truck out front. No. No markings.........Where is everybody???"

A seriously Bi-Polar, Meds Taking, Neurotic's take on these types of stories and the state of affairs in general:

Sometimes, some days, I get so depressed hearing how F'ed up things are. And how much worse things are going to get, that I seriously think about just pulling the plug on life. Not even bother trying anymore. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. Fact is, many people feel this way.

A horrible attitude I know. One that I fight all the time. Being positive and hopeful is difficult for me in the best of times. Being so in today's society is very hard. Too many facts indicate that the tipping point for this country has arrived. That's its all down hill from here.

I could be wrong. And I want to be wrong. And I hope as much as I can, that I AM wrong. But I'm not counting on it. So for me, taking it one day at a time is the best that I can do.

Rant over...

Depression sucks. The Manic part can be great if you have a handle on it, but that's just as hard as fighting the depression. You have my understanding. ( sympathy, too, but not pity. )

This paramilitary crap is going to get MORE people killed. Kick down 1000 doors and someone's not going to have received the message in public school about being civil to armed police.... Or, someone still asleep is going to have a shootout with the local police and not know why........ as they say.....Mistakes were made.

More scary to me... and I don't know what thread to put this on, or if I even want to say it....

Something I Fear & Predict, AND I want it to be very very clear, not Suggest & Condone, is that someone is going to just have that last straw, decide the system is broken, and go vigilante on politicians.

Now, some Arseholes have done stupid stuff like send death through the mail, which is both cowardly and wrong. Not only immoral, but a failure. The Anthrax attack on Congress didn't kill any Congressmen. It DID kill some Postal Employees and a little old lady in Mass.

Great going F-head.

Oh, yeah, and the Anthrax killer is still out there. No one was caught.

But MY fear is some rambo wannabe is going to try, effectively, to slaughter some pols.

It's already happened on a small scale in city council meetings, and such, but it hasn't really become "popular" yet. ( thank your deity of choice ) If & when it does, police state is inevitable.

The specific tactic I fear is someone will get home addresses of, say, Congress, and during one of the many vacations, will burn a bunch of houses down, children and all.
( the Muslim Brotherhood Way )

It's like any form of terrorism.

No matter what parts of your grievance I may agree with, no matter how much I may dislike the target of your anger, the tactic & method of indiscriminate slaughter to try to change things through fear and intimidation deserve the full disgust and opposition of every civilized being.

That's true if you are a Jihadist, a Right to lifer, a Pro choicer, an anti-taxer, or the State Police.

Nope, not a chance in hell. As soon as they see anything that even remotely resembles a weapon you'd be staring down a wall of lead. A homemade flame thrower is your best bet (especially for me since I choose not to own any firearms). Some of the older model super soaker guns work excellently with a pilot flame fixed to the end of the barrel. It's the only way you can engage multiple Kevlar shrouded targets with a single trigger pull and it is difficult for them to see what they are shooting at when their ski mask is on fire.

(I tried to insert the pic of the masked agent that I know everyone here has seen but I fail at computers)

Super soaker?

Nah, this is what you do.

Take 1 old powder type fire extinguisher, the kind with a schraeder (tire type) connector.
Depressurise it, unscrew the head, clean out any residual powder, refill 1/2 to 2/3 with kerosene, pressurise with your garage compressor.
Now connect the outlet to a nozzle of some sort to get the spray pattern you want, I find a section of rigid brake line works well & the brake line nut screws right into the extinguisher head.
A long kitchen range lighter, & you're good to go.

I take NO responsibility for any accidents caused following these ideas, you do this at your own risk & peril.

Yeah, that's a no responsibility thing......

In so many ways.

Yeah, it's unlikely that a citizen could stand up, even in a surprise situation, to a paramilitary assault on his home. It's far more likely they kill him, his family and his dog. ( the dog is doomed if past performance is an indicator )

Here is another police abuse, in a far off land, one where police abuse was the norm for a century. Don't know where else to post it.......

Yeah - a flame thrower is a great idea. 'Scuse me officer while I light my pilot light on my fire extinguisher here.

Posession of a flame thrower is a felony, a gun is not.

Personally, you'd be screwed but you'd die pretending you were somebody.
