Some of you will remember when V (Vampress_Kat) and I made our way across the Pacific for Homecoming in 2010, and we did a whirlwind (well, it felt like it!) trip around/across the United States. We've been itching to come back ever since and finally it's happening  It's taken us a while to organise and it was only just before Christmas that we knew when we could get away for a few weeks and could book the flights. The last couple of months have just disappeared and I now realise it's only a week until we hop on a plane headed for Los Angeles  This trip is going to be a lot more laid back than the last one, we've made a fair bit of the trip "unplanned" and we'll work it out as we go along. We fly into L.A. and spend a few days hanging out with Doerman and getting acclimatised, then we're off to Georgia for a few days to hang out with Mr & Mrs Glitch who we never got to meet last time. We then fly back to Los Angeles and pick up a rental car and for the next 10 days we go... wherever we feel like! We purposely haven't planned this part of the trip. On the last trip we really liked California but spent little time there so we want to explore the state more. We'll do some site seeing, do some shopping, see some music/bands, some more shopping, eat amazing food (would waffles for breakfast everyday be too much?). We might head down to San Diego or up to San Francisco, we'll decide when we get there, we just have to end up in Las Vegas the weekend before Easter  . After a few days having fun in Vegas we head back to L.A. for a few days before flying home on Good Friday. If anybody feels like saying hello and catching up, we'll be in Georgia the weekend of March 9/10, and Las Vegas the weekend of March 23/24 cheers, chili | ||

Wish I was free 9/10...but I have shows. If you find yourself in/near Maryland (about an hour from Washington DC) during your "wandering" portion...my door and garage door are open to you We're chilly...but there's great roads around here and I have plenty of Buells if you get the urge to ride. | ||

Details: Surely youn's won't just be coming to GA for 2 days? I'd love to catch up with the 2 of you down in N. GA, might give me a good excuse to ride the GL for a weekend! (Gotta procure a good fork brace first ASAP...) Holla! | ||

Sorry Wilson, timing is never right! PNW - I did a road trip with my parents from San Francisco up to Seattle and into Canada (Salmon Arm) and back many years ago, it was an awesome trip and I'd love to do it again one day. I'd also like to ride across Canada, or by train... or ride across the southern states... and New England... and all sorts of places This time however we're mainly sticking to Cali and trying not to do too much. It should be awesome Brad - we'll be in Georgia from the Friday evening through to Tuesday morning I think Glitch has got something planned for the Saturday evening. Looking forward to seeing you again too Neal! | ||

This is awesome! It was great meeting you guys at Homecoming. Maybe a trip to GA is in my near future  . I have been looking into getting some folks there for a March Buell run of some sort. | ||

We're starting to feel the excitement of it all coming very close now Once the frantic "Have I got everything here done" (mostly me, a little Chili) wears off it will sink in a little more. We have a live-in house/dog sitter this time, so more peace of mind while we are away too. Thankfully we have everything for the trip booked and it's just a matter of actually getting on the plane now. Hope to see some familiar and new faces between all of our stops, whether it be near Glitch's, Vegas, L.A, or in our meandering across Cali. | ||

WHAT THE HELL HAVE I DONE?!?!?! Bwahahaha!!!  It's going to be awesome! "Music and Tacos" will be very, very cool. It will be an honour to play some tunes among such esteemed company, and a whole lotta fun! (Except for the neighbours maybe?  ) It's getting very close! I handed over my projects to my boss this afternoon so I have a busy but relatively stress free day at work tomorrow (Thursday), then I'm officially on annual leave for a whole month  That gives us Friday/Saturday/Sunday to do any last minute things but it looks like we've got most things organised... This could be a false sense of security and I've forgotten something really important..?  | ||

I've damn near just written off Face Book, I've really gotten to the point that I dislike that site, a lot! We'll be having a get together at Charlie's Saturday, Sunday I'm hoping to show y'all the Great North Georgia Mountains. On top of that we're planning on just playing most all of the time y'all are here by ear. We're all looking forward to finally meeting and hanging out with y'all. It'll be fun for sure! | ||

I might suggest also a loop through Reliance TN, up through Tellico Plains, then back down to GA on TN68. I took a group from Suches that way on the last Buelltoberfest, quite a fun series of roads... Let's rawwk and ROLL!!! | ||

Sweet, I saw V's note about the trip on FB a while back but didn't see any further details. I'll try to talk the wife into a Vegas trip. It would be cool to meet up with you guys down there this time. I'm hoping the weather will be more pleasant this time around. It is definitely not great for riding from Salt Lake to Vegas just yet but might get better. | ||

Ummm, whoops... just now looked at the weather forecast, and DANG it's gonna be too cold to ride without electrics- which I do not have... Oh well. Gotta plot out and plan the garden this weekend anyway- guess I'll be bundling up to run the tiller and such! Vamps and Chili are gonna be chilly once they get stateside, at least down here in the southern Appalachias... Franklin, NC at Mike and Sue's place. I talked to Carol Sunday afternoon and she and Lou were going to meet us up there. I wondered when I read Chili's post 'cause I thought you were gonna hook Lou and Chili up for some tunes? Anyways, I'll be in Franklin Saturday afternoon and evening. Back to Indiana on Sunday. | ||

Glitch - we'll be getting into Franklin in the early afternoon on Saturday after 520 miles of travel. We have some things to attend to then an evening with the Franklin crew. Turn around and leave early a.m. on Sunday to retrace the 520 back home. Dude, there's nobody on this board that wants to meet Chili and V as bad as I do(except you and Ann ) but there is a time for everything. I've tried to crunch the numbers and it just isn't doable. Take pictures, write the story and most of all have a great and safe time. Go V & Chili! Welcome back to the US of A! | ||

Mike - if you can swing a trip to Vegas that'd be really cool to catch up this time We'll be there 23/24/25/26th. JB2 - Sorry I hadn't messaged you earlier... So close but so far. We need to catch up and talk about music sometime too, you need to hear the album and I'd like to have a go at writing some instrumental stuff for you. Vern - Is a GA trip possible? Jim (Oldog) and Neil (Nevrenuf) may still be working in the area so hopefully we'll see them at Charlie's, and Neal (Dalton_gang) too Vamps and Chili are gonna be chilly once they get stateside, at least down here in the southern Appalachias... Graham - If I had one of Dali's clocks I'd bend time to add the trip down to Georgia but I have to be back to work on Monday. There's a slim chance I could leave on Friday and make a spot to run to Glitch's on Saturday but it involves a lot of crunching. Major remodel and addition going on at the home place. I've committed to work my vacation next week with the contractors to save some expenses on the home project. We'll see. Yeah, a couple hours talking music and your new album would be more than grand. | ||

When I first heard of this, I was a bummed that it didn't seem like I'd be able to make it to any of the places you guys were going to be, but now I may be able to make the trip to GA, and possibly even Vegas. Being unemployed has it's benefits sometimes, haha |
