Pffft, mileage... whatever...
And anything which involves an El Camino is a good answer |

I wish the Ram 1500 was getting a I6 diesel not a V6. Glad they finally are putting a baby diesel in though. |

Hey Froggy, I got my fuel economy car on a trade for one of my 4x4 trucks. This one has a new engine with over 300 hp, 4+3 manual od trans. The faster it goes (to a point) the better the gas mileage is.
Without hypermiling it is doing 16.2 around town and it gets 28+ at 80 mph on the Interstate. I had a '94 back when they were new, with an automatic transmission, that did the same mpg numbers. The wife and I did a 1400 mile round trip, including a couple of passes on a local drag strip, back then. We ran at 80 on the Interstate and did a lot of around town driving. For the whole trip the mpg average was 28.5 using real numbers. These things have a 'puter with the instant mileage and mileage average numbers, they are quite accurate. With a bit more tuning, a chip, and keeping my right foot relaxed, I am betting this '86 Vette will best 20 around town and 30 on the highway. I love being able to haul ass, get good fuel economy, and look cool at the same time! |
