Grandpa bought it new in 87... It was our farm/ custom spraying rig. ~17,000 original Wisconsin miles. Looks about the same, took off the original tires and running boards. I even plan on leaving the chemical faded paint, too cool a history to fix it. These trucks barely exist in Wisconsin anymore!

Joe.....more manly yes, but a "keep it in the closet" kind of manly! Mine is a totally street-able 26,000 gvwr with an EFI 496 cubic inch engine with an Allison automatic and a key fob that makes it beep on the second push! I know, mine has to run gasoline and yours could run everything from veggy oil to used engine oil. But mine will cruise down the interstate at 75 mph all day. (if I have enough money with me) Besides.....I still have mine! |

Here is my current truck: 2000 GMC K2500 Sierra, 350 V8, 5 speed manual trans, with 135k miles on it. Photo was taken upon the arrival of my used 2004 XB12R, many years ago. BTW who needs a ramp, just find a ditch~

I had a '93 Chevy S10 V-6 with Camaro mags that I was in love with. As much as she gave me s**t over the way I drove it...the wife totaled it. We also had a 1988 Dodge Ram shortbed. The punk who had bought it from the original owners really made a mess of it. It cost as much to keep it on the road that we could've been paying for a new vehicle. The body was in immaculate shape, and that rear bumper was indestructible, as it was a magnet for modern sedans. It was traded-in. |

There's a mid seventies f150 Ranger with a 460 and big axles for sale. It's exremely clean, so it's probably more than I want to pay for it. |

Joe, If all it cost you was a truck, you can be very happy. Mine went the other way, She got the house, the dog, the kid, the car. I got the ex US military '84 Dodge D250 Crewcab, the debts, & the boot. She's still in the house, my daughter has grown up to be a lovely young woman, & I've had the best years of my life with Madame G. I silently thank her regularly, although it took me a number of years to get to that point. Wish I still had that truck though, I sold it because it just sat in the yard at work while I was away for weeks at a time. |

Mr. G - total cost was much more than a truck...but financially...just a truck. There were circumstances, and choices made, that didn't leave her a leg to stand on for much else. And that's all I'll say about that in a public forum I had an old '85 D250 crew. Longbed, u-turn on a football field (maybe), solid old beater. Only reason I didn't keep it was, it was a gas motor. I work my trucks hard, diesels just do better for me. |

84 Ranger, no options, Rebuild 2.3 Motor - purchase 1999 for $800; It is the only thing left to start over from widdling down the cr@p that I own, so it all fits in the back in one trip. I feel a remake of Grapes of Wrath coming soon |

Red Pick-ups are of the devil. People who own them have a screw loose. Every near miss I've ever had with a pick-up truck has come at the hands of a driver of a Red one! I always give these motorcycle hating psychos a wide birth. |

Easy Ft Bstrd! Our company trucks are red Chevy pick-ups. Just hard working hardwood floor guys here. The only one that does not own or has not owned a bike is my dad the owner. Currently driving a '08 2500 Duramax. |

Mr. Sam Walton Drove an old red and white Ford FullSize pickup for years - despite his phenomenal wealth. Simple - you need to haul bird dogs, and hunt; bring a truck. |

No, Tim, both the truck and trailer were red. One of the thoughts besides "SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT!" was "another damned red truck!" |

If I had a red truck now,I'd run your keyboard off the road, while your typing! Of course it's hard to talk trash while driving a blue Saturn. (Message edited by buellish on October 27, 2012) |

All i've ever had is pickups. My first new vehicle,'88 RED S10 bone stripper.THen a '92 black GMC S-15 basic. Then switched to Ford in '02 for a black 4x4 Ranger, single cab again, but/w 3L and some amenities. Then,Unfortunately,i laid that one down(my friends joked they'd thought i'd do that with a bike not a car),upside down on the interstate rushing in the rain to get new Pirellis' mounted for a bike. My latest truck,a 2010 Ranger extended cab 4x4 loaded in white is the best so far.I like small pickups and ONLY possess them in anticipation of need for a bike. Many feel the Ranger line long in the tooth but,the last ones were very technologically advanced.Powerful too/w a 4L OHC 6.More powerful than the '89 Vette i recently got.But not NEAR the HEMI 6 sp. Challenger i got TODAY for the Wife |
