This is worth watching again. The only difference between the 0bama we saw last night the the 0bama we see in this video is the degree of "smirk."

Paul Ryan knows his stuff, AND knows how to deliver it.

I'm very much looking forward to next week's Veep debate.

PS: If you're in a crunch for time, my favorite lesson from Ryan to 0bama comes at the 4:45 mark:

quote:

"There really is a difference between us, and it's basically this: We don't think the government should be in control of all of this. We want PEOPLE to be in control."

Music to my ears, amigo.

I havent been engaged in this thread, just a lurker that has been heartily entertained at times, enraged at others. I will take the opportunity to toss in my .02 in regards to BO's expression last night - he doesn't care, nor should he. Our wonderful SoS arranged for the votes to be counted by a Spanish company this time around. And what do you think are the chances of an audit by a non-partisan US commision? If you've never heard of this and feel the need for citation - look it up. Call me crazy, say it would NEVER occur but I fear that it matters not who wins this election. The influence of the powers that placed BHO in office are stronger than the collective voice of this country.

"Romney again promised to not reduce the taxes paid by high-income Americansand also to lower taxes on middle-income families, but didn't say how he could possibly accomplish that without also increasing the deficit."

Liars. Romney clearly explained that more people working, earning more income, paying taxes rather than taking govt benefits would maintain revenue. Romney made that clear. That fact check org is dishonest. Leftists deceive as standard operating procedure.

Leftism is emotion driven arrogance. You'll hear them say inane things like they won't vote for successful people, well, unless the rich man or woman happens to be a Democrat. The hypocrisy astounds. Wealth and prosperity are bad in their eyes. Only the fed govt ought to determine what we may have. They are covetous people.

When you add 12M new tax payers (and subsequently remove 12M NON-WORKERS from the entitlement programs), you increase revenues and reduce expenditures.

Our tax system is a transfer tax system. The more transfers (velocity) you can build into the economy, the higher the tax collections. It's NOT about what the nominal tax rate is. It is about how many times you can collect the taxes in the transaction.

Employer makes money, pays employee (taxable transfer), employee uses money to buy goods and services (taxable transfer) from a producer who employs workers (taxable transfer) who buy goods and services.

The reason revenues are down, expenditures are up, and the economy is stalled out is that those with capital have NO confidence that taking a chance with their capital will result in not only a return of their capital but a rate of return on that capital. Unless Obama seeks to start confiscating wealth directly, he's not going to collect ANY taxes until that capital is deployed in the market place either buying goods and services or investing in companies that will hire employees.

One more from me and this long day is done.

This is a cut and paste from a commenter on another site regarding Romney's performance in the debate last night. This is from a "Henry Hawkins," and I'm posting it here because it is so very well written, and because it mirrors my views so closely.

Well done, Mr. Hawkins.

quote:

A better prepared, more aggressive Obama will show up next time. Im pretty sure this will be no surprise to Romney. Once the second debate is begun, Obama is again left with two basic alternatives: (1) he can speak to his record, (2) he can lie like a rug, or (3) he can keep blaming Bush, tsunamis, the solar winds, whatevers handy.

1) As for Obamas record, hes failed to sell major achievements like Porkulus and Obamacare to the American people over a period of years and will fail to do so within the 90 minutes of a debate, even if he were unopposed (in other words, yet another speech). I think it held wisdom that Obama cannot run or debate on his sterling record. Mentioning only his best achievements is to bring up issues Americans dislike by sizable majorities.

2) In last nights debate, Obama thrice trotted out a lie about Romney intending to increase the deficit by $5 trillion, and thrice Romney would have none of it, refuted it, practically called Obama a liar, and did liken him to a child pitching lying alibis in the hope Daddy might believe them. Obama, saddled with, well, himself, has no option but to lie about Romneys plans and his own record. This exquisitely prepared Romney has served notice he will not let lies pass unchallenged. Obama, at best, will tread water with lies, and at worst will have them slammed back in his face to his detriment. Lying aint gonna work either.

3) Who hasnt felt disdain for the coworker, employee, politician, etc., who constantly blames external factors and other people for their failures? Blaming Bush is well past its sell-by date. It has become counterproductive, hurting Obama rather than helping him with any voter not already blindly in the tank for him. After four years, blaming Bush aint gonna work.

Chicago politics: Obama is welcome to bring Chicago style into future debates, but Chicago politicking is done off-stage via bribery, deceit, coercion, and secret alliances. On stage he has no allies, save whatever a sycophantic moderator might try to do to help. On stage Obama has no one to step forward and say, thats all the questions well be taking today when the going gets tough. On stage, there is no liberal media to translate what Obama says and does into a crowd pleasing fairy tale narrative.
Romney has an answer for the 47% thing. He has an answer for anything Bain related. He has an answer for whatever Obama brings, barring any brand new lies, and has shown the lightness afoot to handle that as well.

Romney should go Newt on Obamas ass? Nobody advocated for Newt more than did I, but Newt lost fair and square. Romney defeated Newt in debate. Romney defeated the entire GOP slate ultimately. Romney should abandon what won him a resounding debate smackdown of the Liberal Messiah and instead go Newt on him next time? Im sorry, but thats like a football coach who just won 56-7 saying his team needs to overhaul its offense before the next game.

To me, the debate looked more like a court trial with Romney as the prosecutor and Obama as the defendant who knows hes guilty. Romney had full command of facts, hesitated on nothing, looked and sounded presidential, and took over the entire building from the first ten seconds. Obama looked like he was an hour late for tee-off.

Hey, Id love it if Romney ripped Obamas head off and filled his neck stub with excrement, but this isnt the primaries and Romney isnt after my vote anymore. This is the general, and I literally cannot conceive of a scenario where Id vote for Obama over Romney. If only for ABO reasons, the base is more than secure. Romney seeks independent/undecided voters, and to even peel off some Democrats if he can. He and his team have elected to debate aggressively but without risking offending indies and centrist Dems. It was a calculated risk which paid off big time. Going Newt would please the hell out of me if Romney could do it, but Romney won by being himself, and I advise he stick to the plan thats working, especially after winning the first game of the season 56-7.

By so thoroughly defeating Obama in the first debate, pressure is taken off Romney for the second debate and placed entirely on Obama. In the second debate Romney can absorb a tie or close loss. However, Obama must win big. Another clear loss by Obama and hes done. A squeaker win wont help Obama. He now must win big in the next debate. The pressure is all on Obama, another spoil from last nights Romney victory. Not a good time for Romney to change tactics.

Secondary gains: can you imagine whats going on in the Obama camp right now? The recriminations? Doubts? Bickering? Infighting? All the calls from majorly pissed off financial backers? This is more pressure on Obama, from the inside.

I say just keep on with what youre doing Mr. Romney. Dont change a thing in your debate prep and style until theres a reason to change. I know hell prepare for multiple contingencies, because we did that when I was in high school debate. Romney will be prepared for the same approach, but will also have prepped to go nuclear on Obamas ass if the changes Obama must make force him to do so.

Obama has been exposed as nothing more than a sock puppet for the radical left movement.

This reminds me of some discussions I've had here with members of the liberal persuasion. You state your position, and they come back and misrepresent your position explaining how it's bad. You correct them, clearly stating your position again, and they come back and misrepresent your position explaining how it's bad. The cycle repeats over and over. I have no idea who they think is persuaded by this tactic. After about the third iteration it becomes plainly apparent that they are not engaged in an honest exchange of ideas. It's clear to me that there is a cross section of our society that is perfectly happy with this sort of thing. I'm just curious where they think this dishonesty will take us as a nation if it is successful.

BO's biggest problem in this debate was that the facts are against him. No amount of preparation can ever change the facts. His first four years are four years of failure. Of course to be fair, he did give the military the go ahead to take out bin Laden. Does anyone really think that any other president would have decided differently? BO represents this as a big decision point for him. It may have been; For him. For most it would be a no-brainer. These facts will not change in the next few weeks. BO's only real hope is that Romney fails to be prepared for the battle ahead. I don't see that happening.

Somebody said Obama needs to watch msnbc to learn about the facts. Someone else said the debate was like a bullfight ... Obama being the matador... and Romney the bull ...chasing him around. At the end of the statement they said.... everyone knows what happens to the bull at the end of a bullfight. !!! Al Gore says Obama only had 2 hour to adjust to the 5000 ft elevation... Romney had 6 hrs.... omg.....the spin is hilarious

This would be a good time to remind Obama about the FAILED 70 year experiment that is based on his borrowed rhetoric.
It collapses. It has done so in his lifetime - what more evidence do you need ?
and now with the internet... you can bet the speeds will be faster - go visit the housing calamity for evidence.

This guy will simply crash and kill America - it is his STATED GOAL. Vote accordingly.

This is how students are ridiculed for simply wearing a Romney shirt to school...

http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stories/t eacher-compares-students-romney-shirt-to-kkk-ro.ht ml

quote:

Are you seriously wearing a Romney shirt and then she told her to get out, Pawlucy told the radio station. My daughter took it as a joke. But the teacher left the room and called other teachers and students into her classroom.

She said the teacher pointed at his daughter and said, Look at this girl wearing a Romney shirt.

My daughter refused to leave the classroom or acknowledge this bullying, he said.

Thats when the teacher compared the Romney shirt to a KKK garb and told her, This is a Democratic school.

I'm just amazed that there are people that still try to deny any liberal bias in schools and media. I have no idea who they think they're kidding.

They imposed a dress code at our school our senior year.... they spelled out in long detail what you could not wear, while leaving little clarity on what you 'could' wear.

We had a guy push the limits of the rule and wore Pajamas every day - they were neither excluded nor included by name
It took them until April to realize the folly of their stupidity and repeal it for the NEXT class.

I wonder if as teachers, do they understand the grammatical error in that sentence. Unless of course they really meant to say that their school is run as a democracy.
