Keep in mind I am an amateur. Classes in Weather, yes, degrees, no. ( big mistake on my part, I'd make a killing as a climate con man... )
The study of weather for me has mostly been micrometeorology, the small scale stuff of interest to a glider pilot, or a predictor of wind force on structures and Sails.
My interest in Climate change goes back decades about it's effects on civilizations through history, and the technology that influences weather, climate, and our response to it. Hypocausts, Moldboard plows, aqueducts, windmills.....
My observation over the last 30+ years of Climate Panic is that the exact same solutions proposed for Global Cooling and Lord save us all the Oncoming Ice Age!! are the solutions for Global Warming Lord save us all we're going to Burn!!!
SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE!!!!!!!!
So obviously, the Solution is the desired result with no matter it's actual effect on Climate.
Otherwise, the cure would be different, for different realities. It's not.
Facts.
Climate change is real.
Al Gore's Fortune is real.
The desire to rule the world by/of the UN is real.
The people telling us that "climate deniers" are paid off by the Evil Oil Companies..... are making money on Climate Change. ( while they insinuate I am a Nazi )
No Evil Oil Company gives me a darn thing. ( darn it ) I welcome any proof that I'm wrong on these observations.
Proof that this isn't a giant scam to rip us off and make dishonest men richer would be wonderful.
Not sure on the proof on this but it makes sense that migratory birds have good sense at weather prediction. ( the compass in the head things seems proven for some species. ) After all, knowing when to escape the oncoming storms is a vital evolutionary trait.
The caterpillar thing, with the wider dark stripes indicating hard winters?? I have no clue why color banding is prophetic.
If you thought Selling mortgages bundled together in CDO's made the banks rich and the rest of us ripped off... ( and it did! )
How are you going to feel when they TAX you for the air you breath and trade your right to light a fire with each other. Making trillions with you paying for every penny?
Even so, though, many are warning of an "ice free" arctic - perhaps in only a few years from now. Then, of course, without ice to reflect heat back into space, runaway global warming would surely be a certainty?
Odd. I was taught that when the Arctic seas are free from ice, the winds blowing over the evaporating sea water would lead to record snowfalls in the Northern Hemisphere, and be the trigger to ( at least a mini ) ice age. As the albedo on land increases, ( the snow pack reflecting the sun and keeping things cold ) you get the runaway condition where the snow doesn't melt until later and later in the season, until it just doesn't melt anymore, and winter just IS.
Then the Arctic freezes back over, and we just stay freaking cold until the next warming cycle. ( in the past that included cyclic ocean patterns, (El Nina), volcanic eruptions, etc. Not SUV's )
A trick-cyclist in Australia - already well known for suggesting that climate "deniers" believe that the Apollo moon landings were faked and that Princess Diana was assassinated - has come out with new peer-reviewed research suggesting that such people also believe that President Obama was not born in the United States, that the MMR vaccine causes autism and that Saddam Hussein did in fact possess weapons of mass destruction.
Professor Stephan Lewandowsky also argues that people who cast any doubt on the theory of looming, deadly carbon-driven planetary warming (and/or the need for massive global action to counter it) are the same sort of people who once sought to downplay the dangers of smoking - and are likewise more often than not funded by sinister corporate interests.
Not wishing to miss anything out, the good prof also hints darkly that your climate sceptic is also the type who probably believes in homeopathic medicine.
It is worth noting that the "professor" is a psychologist, who is obviously better qualified than an actual scientist to tell you what's what.
The article's author issues a disclaimer...at the bottom.
Full Disclosure: Your correspondent is quite OK with the idea that CO2 is a greenhouse gas, and further that global temperatures appear to have risen noticeably at the back end of the 20th century - though there is a lot of uncertainty about how much, what they did before records began, etc etc. Nonetheless, I'm personally sceptical - only sceptical, I deny nothing - regarding the accuracy of forecasts and models which predict massively accelerated further warming this century; and also sceptical that anyone knows at all well what the likely consequences of this possible warming would be in terms of sea levels, crop yields etc.
All that said, it is quite possible that the alarmists are right and the coming decades could see serious sea-level rises, crop failures etc. Unfortunately I'm really, really sceptical about the idea that the human race can support any reasonably advanced and wealthy modern civilisation using only or mostly renewable power. The proposed cure seems likely to be worse than the disease. Furthermore it isn't actually on the table - most of the world's governments don't even offer a serious pretence of trying to achieve it, though they are happy to encourage others to choke their economies to death.
So I'm a sceptic.
For the record, though: I think Barack Obama was born in the USA; that the moon landings really happened; that Princess Diana's death was an accident; that Saddam Hussein didn't have any "WMDs" (though I did find some myself while serving in Her Majesty's forces at the time of the Iraq invasion); I believe that smoking increases your risk of cancer, and that homeopathic medicine is worthless snake-oil; my kids have had all their jabs. I'm pretty sure none of that (except the WMDs) makes me unusual among climate sceptics.
The warmist yahoos forget the water is the best refrigerant and most abundant on earth. Aes calculate the rise in humidity and follow it with the temperature lapse rate and you ll discover the planets air conditioner !
As side effect is expansion of the growing season YAHOO!
Odd. I was taught that when the Arctic seas are free from ice, the winds blowing over the evaporating sea water would lead to record snowfalls in the Northern Hemisphere, and be the trigger to ( at least a mini ) ice age.
Speaking as someone who has done computer modeling, it is easy to make the computer model show either theory to work. EASY! The problem is that one or both versions will be incorrect. I'm amazed that we still rely so heavily on the computer models to tell us where we will be in 20 years when we can see how badly they have failed for decades now.

I thought it was common knowledge that Princess Diana was shacking up with Elvis in the Bahamas.
AES maybe we can get Algore and all the Pro global warming fans to sign up for the demonstration. Lets see if they want to show the courage of thier convictions!
R.G. Cleveland once described the stages of societal evolution.
A quick search, brings up this essay on Cleveland's essay "Beyond the Citizen". Published in Analog magazine Feb 73. But not the much better written original...
I'm too lazy to go and dig out a copy of the Feb '73 Analog.
My point is.. We have gone from small groups of hunter gatherers to villagers ( as agriculture got figured out ) to citizens of larger nation states. All three stages can be found on Earth today.
Each group has different loyalties and attitudes.
Interesting concept, though I've read other ways to divide up cultures.
I'm not sure if the Greenies fit as Tribesman or Citizen?
Or is the "want to run your life" fixation some people have not susceptible to such analysis?
"Chemtrails" are mostly one of the most potent Greenhouse gases.
Seriously. They are. Water vapor.
In a world where the airlines gleefully embraced a smoking ban on planes so they could save money ( millions! ) on fuel by turning down the air flow through the cabin, I have no doubt that they would NOT have extra tanks of "chemtrail" stuff if it displaced a dimes worth of cargo or fuel. Simply, they are too greedy to participate in a vast global conspiracy.
Those very same streaks in the sky have been around since WW2 when the B-17's were bombing Europe. Not a happy thing, to have a giant arrow pointed at your plane for the enemy to notice. ( and the CIA & NSA didn't even exist then...)
But Hey!, pick your favorite conspiracy.
I can show you speech after speech of the Greenies wanting absolute power over your life. Telling us we need to all move into cities, where we won't need cars to get to the store and we'll be too packed together to BBQ... Pushing the notion of the UN in total control with unelected Bureaucrats saving us all from Golbal Warming. ( Or the Ice Age, if anyone else remembers the '70's )
I haven't found one video of someone praising the Chemtrail initiative and it's plans to mind control us to buy Nikes.
OTOH maybe the Chemtrail guys are just smarter and more secure in their plot for global domination?
