OK, here it is: Of course this has been a topic around here before, but...

I was channel surfing around last nite, boredom setting in, saw that "Motocross" was on from 12-2am on Speed... I like motocross OK but usually don't watch, but I just decided to click- and they had roadracing from NJMP on!! WTF?

So, I happily watched the Supersport race, one HECK of a pack of great riders and some amazing action- they announced that the next class, Superbike, was coming up, at 1am!

Sure enough, "Motocross" at 1am had the kingpin, Josh Hayes, leading another fantastic group of riders including our EBR boys May and Eslick... I was overjoyed at my luck, "motocross"... then at 1:40am they inexplicably cut to some inane NASCAR show! My channel index even said "Motocross" was still on until 2...

Whomever is running SPUDD channel is obviously asleep at the wheel... they should re-name themselves the NASCAR/Monster Truck channel for some truth in advertising.

Thanks for listening, rant off...

I think it may have to do with your cable provider. My DVR taped it just like it always does, but earlier than normal much to my surprise.

Hadn't thought of that- why can't they screw up "Snooki & JWoww" or something?!

Mebbe I need to learn how to just stream content from the Internet to my boobtube and just skip regular TV... we only have an "enhanced" basic package, and about 80% of the channels are either crap or just retarded...

+1

I will say however, for some reason, I've noticed the same issue with Speed channel showing a different race than what is shown on the providers schedule. It could be some combination between Speed and various providers. My provider had the schedule correct for the AMA races this weekend though. I was happy to see them before I went to bed for the night!

AMA live racing schedules now gives the speed broadcast times for each race, which is nice, as Speed never has them labelled right.

Look on the lower right:

The races you were watching were actually repeats. They originally aired at 9pm and 10pm. Speed always cuts to their trackside live show once a nascar race is over. That happened to be at 1:30-2:00 am yesterday.

And they did mislabel the guide as "motorcross" for me also.

Cable an satellite should have al a cart option so you get and pay for only the channels you want... It would be interesting to see which channels would go under.

Actually given what's popular the probably wouldnt be anything left that I'd want to watch

Because cable doesn't have a la cart option I don't have cable. I am forced to go to the local sports bar and drink bear and eat pizza while I watch the race.

We dropped our dish months ago, it just kept going up and up and I think they even dropped some channels. We picked up airwaves and have 17 decent channels, we love the ME TV with all the oldies on it. We kept Netflix for movies and the kids' shows which are commercial free and we can stream internet to the TV if we want. But as far as the original rant; I agree it probably the cable provider that screwed that up.

I bitch about this all the time.

I say there is enough racing around the world that we can watch some sort of a race on speed 24/7 versus the aforementioned NASCAR/Monster Trucks/Towing Reality TV crap.

MotoGP, Superbike, Moto/Supercorss, touring cars, Snowmobiles, jet skis, that bad ass short course rally boat thing, WRC, drifting, and so on! There are plenty of races I could watch.

I would love an a la carte option on cable/sat. First company to do that will get my business. I hate Directv.
