There were some e-mails going around between the crew that's stayed at C3 Central during previous Buelltoberfests about it. IIRC, the Lodge at Copperhead was suggested as a central meeting point but they may already be booked up for most (if not all) of October. That's the last I heard about it. Dang. Just sold my XB, all I've got is a '79 GL1000, I'm DYING to find every way possible to make that thing handle better... Heck, at least I've still got something- I may still try to hang with all my BTF buds! Keep us posted, Barker! BTW, Matt- how's the fandamily doing, what with the new addition and such? Holla! |

Idea: I gots me a boat now, good for 4 to float/tube, maybe 3 to ski/wakeboard- I wonder if that little lake in Suches has a place to camp and set things up? Don't know much of anything about the water there, but I've wanted to plan a Buell/bike/boat event for a while now... |

I feel the 'Force' coming back to life. Buelltoberfest has always been a fun deal, not too hot, not too cool, not too wet.(maybe 'cause I left the tent at home for this one) The Lodge Coopperhead has always got this welcoming feeling about it too. They still send me e-mails every month. It may be even better now that the bar is open. |

I have been putting out feelers, trying to figure out whats up with BTF. It looks like I might be the only one organizing anything. I have been busy with a new baby and job changes. I wish I could have devoted more time to this and planned it farther out. If no one has any objections, I can be the point person for the event. Here is what I have so far. The best weekend for most folks and myself looks like 10/11-10/14. I am checking on C3 central. Stay tuned. Copperhead does have some openings as of now. Anybody wanna share a copperhead cabin? See image. If you are willing to camp, may I suggest Skeenah Creek Campground. Great folks nice campground. GREAT LOCATION! They hosted us last year. This may be our BTF Headquarters. http://www.skeenahcreekcampground.com/ Cabin rentals http://www.suchescabinrentals.com/ **** For those who have not been: Buelltoberfest is a ride all day, eat/drink/tell stories all night then repeat for a few days. Great roads, great bikes, and most importantly great riders. All are welcome. All makes and models. We have even had a 2-stoke show up one year. No patch, no t-shirt, just memories. This would make the 6th year.

Copperhead is definitely deluxe, but Skeenah is SO homey, the hosts (and dawgie host) are THE BEST, they put on a MEAN feed bag, are working to build their business- a dollar spent there is worth a 5 spot anywhere else, IMHO. Plus, they're ON GA60, in the middle of the super fun stuff- dang, but I'll not have the scalpel of my old XB, only a butter knife GL1000... If Skeenah has hot tub facilities- this old man needs to soak the bones after riding all day- done deal. Taking my bike to have a tuneup next week- gonna have to inquire about sporty suspension setups, better ergos, and so on. I'd LOVE to make it again this year! Barker- thanks for your work. How's the fandamily? How's your scooter buddy? Holla! |

Thanks for stepping up, Matt. The cabins at Copperhead are very nice. If you want to bring your wife or GF with you for the weekend they're a good choice. |

I have been fortunate enough to have utilized three of the Copperhead Lodge's offerings. The "Room at the Inn" under the main lodge is IMHO the most comfy. You won't need a hot tub with these big fluffy beds. Very handy to all of the happenings. The bunk house is great to save some money when traveling alone. If you snore the loudest you win! The shower facilities are the best. Also very handy. The cabins are "homey", nice accommodations included a private hot tub. Makes for a great hide out for a weekend with the spouse. A little more isolated from the group. The porch is the hangout for sure. The hosts are great also. Camping at TWO was a great time even in rain soaked conditions. I haven't been there yet, so this time, I think that if the weather looks good I may camp at Skeenah. I truly enjoy the informality of these events. Since we all spend our lives with daily schedules it is nice to be where there is no membership, so sign up, no badges, no dues, no T shirt(unless you make your own)no rules of engagement, no "hafta" be or do anything.....but you can and do want to do everything. Ride scheduling is awesome, it works kinda like "hey we are going out in ten minutes.....you in?" Not to worry if you miss a ride, there is always a group going somewhere and back, nearly all of the time. My favorite thing is when someone asks "where are we going?" and the universal answer is "I don't know" or to "hit some twisties". Hell, I had ridden 'Blood Mountain' four times in one weekend before I knew that it was actually called 'Blood Mountain', something I had heard about many times from fellow Buellers. And I rode it a few more times before I "knew" how to get there. Thanks for heading this up Matt. I'm in. |
