We know that CNN fabricated "the news" about Dan Cathy and Chik-fil-A.

We now know why:

quote:

GLAAD Tidings: CNN, Gay Group in Committed Relationship
By Matt Philbin, 8/6/2012

...CNN has a has a special relationship with Gays and Lesbians Allied Against Defamation (GLAAD), the activist group. CNN parent TimeWarner is a “Platinum Underwriter” of the GLAAD Media Awards. So are the three broadcast networks. What makes CNN special is its give-and-take with GLAAD.

• CNN’s parent TimeWarner is a “Platinum Underwriter” of the GLAAD Media Awards.

• In the last two years, GLAAD has nominated CNN reporting five separate times for its Media Awards, and given anchor Don Lemon an “Outstanding Citizen Award.”

• In last two years, GLAAD has appeared in 41 stories on the network, and in 43 pieces on CNN.com.

• CNN’s relationship with the group violates two separate items from the Society of Professional Journalists’ Code of Ethics.

Open question to anyone with the courage to reply: What is your "news" source, and do you think they manipulate "the news" they choose to present?

CNN does.

BBC News (shown on PBS here in Florida & on the web)
Guardian Newspaper (online)
BBC are pretty straight.
Guardian has a definite left-wing bent.
IMHO: I am old enough to delineate between what's said & what's what.
I also watch the local news stations on TV.
Pretty fair but a little right of center by and large.
Wife watches a lot of Chris Matthews show. It's rather entertaining but too biased to the left for my tastes.
BTW: I am not a Republican or a Democrat although my political views are a little left leaning overall.

I was watching MSNBcrap that other night.. it is truly unbelievable what some cable news stations have become. Seeing the tweet comments below the screen during the broadcast. tweeting to a tv show, during the show, is like being a silent heckler... some of the comments are just shockingly full of stupid/funny/idiotic hate not unlike the drivethru guys' comments to the sweet girl, and Dumb questions to ask the audience like: Do you think Romney pays enough in taxes" (or something along those lines.. )

I watched for entertainment purposes... untill my blood pressure got too high then I switched it to World's Dumbest criminals or Bait car.. Or if I feel serious,...1st 48 hrs. (Or local news)
I seriously do not know how msnbcrap can still be on the air.

310,000,000 folks in this fine country . . . . CNN viewer numbers = 355,000

You do the math.

I don't buy bullshit and apparently damn few folks do.

Having dropped cable tv last year.
I resort to the net for my news.

Reading the msn "discussion threads" is entertaining, but it makes the worst bad web spat look civil, with all the name calling [ it reads like a 4th grade playground argument ]

The martin case and the presidential campaign are really good examples of how folks behave with out facts.

It points up comments about folks resorting to name calling and evasion

It is disturbing to see how easily the media manipulates some folks today.

If I lived in an area that the elected officials made comments about banning a business over supposed gay rights comments

I would have to re-think my support for them. ( the politicos )

I have known better than to take Childrens Nonsense Notwork at face value for a long time.

I'm going to grab some Chick Fil-a for the whole family on the way home tonight.

Absolutely the best service of any fast food establishment anywhere.

Sometimes, I buy a catering tray of Chikin Tender's (around 20 buks I think) .... and freeze 3-4 pieces in ziplock freezer bag's for future meals.. Then...

Buy a jar of mushroom alfredo, some whole wheat linguini, add some fresh green peas... top with 2-3 pieces of chikin...mmmmm goooood.

Racerx, do you realize that line was from a speech where Eisenhower was pointing out the failings of the USSR and their communist way of government that was building up a war machine, post WWII? It's not a bad speech. http://www.edchange.org/multicultural/speeches/ike _chance_for_peace.html

It's not about sin(we're all sinners) it's about the way nature works.
Do you ever look up at a flock of geese flying in formation and say wow nature is awsome.
Mother nature cares and provides for us like a mother does her children.

LOL. I have friends who are thoughtful and intelligent liberals.

Other liberals are just, well, naive is about the nicest word I can come up with.

RacerX, can you at least produce something original? I've got really bad news for you in terms of future prospects if you think "clever cutting and pasting" is the beginning and end of any effective form of communication, discussion, or debate.

OK, I'll paste too.

OH The IRONY!

The people re-hashing the old testament and the same argument about 'nature' hating the sin not the sinner. Almost as bad as saying I don't hate an American of African descent I just hate his skin color...

Don't accuse others of rehashing lest ye form your own opinions sans your 'good book'

What does misuse of governmental power to interfere with free enterprise and repress the first amendment rights of company owners have to do with the old testament RacerX?

Marriage is between a man and a woman. If two homos want to partner, that's their business. They are free to do so. It is not a marriage.

Trying to degrade and redefine the meaning of a word in order to force acceptance of a disease-riden filthy deviant lifestyle is about as selfish and arrogant as it gets.

To demonize those who voice support for the traditional definition of marriage and family values is hatemongering. The haters have no tolerance for any other views but their own, so they feel justified in coercing everyone to agree with them.

The haters can only imagine being satisfied if everyone is forced to recognize their own personal views.

It sure is annoying. Go live your life like everyone else. If you want to be married, then find someone of the opposite sex, convince them, and get married; all are free to do so.

If i'm reading the Chik-f-a guys words... as he spoke them, he's proud he's on his first, and only wife. "till death do you part". THAT's the "biblical" version of marriage he's all about.

Not one word about gays.

I think the whole gay thing with this food chain is a total artifact of the media. And the "media" in this case is a wholly owned subsidiary of something much darker.

You could go with the rise in forced popularity of gay culture being a plot of the far left to destroy our society.... ( that has been said since the 1950's btw. In Congress. )

...but I'd prefer to think of it as the desire on the part of many in infotainment to claim virtue they do not possess, or conceal their inner demons.. A horrible example, Chris Mathews and his heavily closeted, but freaking obvious, man crush on Barack Obama. Chris Practically drools over Barry. But he too afraid to admit to the feelings he has, thinking it would ruin his career and/or marriage. Comes out as really creepy hero worship.

Often, IMHO, the stupid hangups induced by messed up clergy are responsible for a lot of pain in this world. Not a lot I can do about that.

Blake, I know we disagree on the marriage bit here. I think stable relations without the promiscuity of the male gay culture is a good conservative idea, in this context. You don't, for other reasons.

We do agree, I thought on civil unions to endure rational visitation/property customs, right?
