I need to order some Buell parts - belt and throttle cables. Are there any badweb sponsors that offer parts discounts?

Don't know about discounts, but I just placed another order with Al at American Sport Bike. Outstanding service, quality people, timely shipping.

I've never actually thought to even ask him for a discount, I'm always so happy with his service.

I tend to look for great service and inventory, *or* a really low price. I'm generally happy to get one or the other.

I believe Al has to buy parts over the counter just like we would, and he then has to carry inventory. So by all rights, he should be selling stock parts for more than retail (but he will have them in stock ready to ship and he will make sure you get the part you need, not the part you think you want).

"I'm always so happy with his service".

+2. One of my mirrors was a casualty on my recent FL/MN/CO/FL trek so we decided to replace both with the Aprilia Tuono mirrors. The mirrors arrived here shortly after me thanks to Al having them on hand.

The Buell dealers that are/were Badweb sponsors used to sell at a small discount. I'm not sure how many of these dealers are still sponsors.

[Edit] Looks like the only dealer that's still a sponsor is Precision HD/Buell in Pawtucket, RI. I don't know if they offer a discount or not; their forum is here:

+3 about American Sport Bike though. Odds are Al will have the parts you need in stock and ship them immediately.

American Sport Bike had earned themselves my #1 go to spot when I need anything Buell related. They don't have everything you may possibly need, but they stock a lot.

Latus in Washington state, and Precision in Rhode Island are the only two I'm aware of offering discounts.

You have NO idea how hard Al and Joanne work for the Buell community. I repeat, NO idea. If you want a discount, go to Walmart. If you want Buell parts, go to American Sport Bike. Support them because they support YOU.

It gets better . . . . .

I've been around American Sport Bike since the day Tat called me thinking about the business.

TRIVIA - Jay Hawley called me the same day thinking about starting a Buell Owners Club.

Tat got the thing off the ground and it was a good deal for all of us.

What Al and Joanne have done is so off the charts it'd be a fitting feature in a business magazine.

Ignore, for a moment, the fact that they are both two of the nicest folks you're ever gonna meet. Even if you don't need anything, you'd do yourself a great favor by finding something you want just as an excuse to call. The experience will be memorable.

I said it gets better . . it does.

Al, in addition to being a keen businessman (I think a good deal of that credit accrues to Joanne) is a talented engineer and knows Buells (and other bikes) inside and out.

Not only can you get the parts you need, you avail yourself to a wealth of technical expertise.

I've got piles of stuff I may never use . . stuff I've bought just to have . . . bags of nylon washers, spare oil filters . . whatever.

American Sport Bike is truly one of the most amazing things to have evolved from the Buell community during the Buell/HD (spit) era.

I've dealt with American Sport Bike since before Al bought the business.
When I owned a dealership I gave 10% off list.
Sorry if I somehow touched a nerve with some.
I guess that the answer is no.

You are correct. The answer is no. For a reason. You receive something infinitely more valuable from American Sport Bike than a 10% discount. I don't know any two people who have worked virtually six days a week (sometimes more) every week, for almost ten years.

No nerves have been touched at all, so no worries.

Ask Al or Joanne about the Obama "you didn't build that" sometime. You are in for some real fun : )

One big point about buying from American Sport Bike that hasn't been mentioned: if ANYBODY is going to continue supporting our Buells after HD's promised 7-year support is up, it'll be Al and Joanne. If you're planning on riding your Buell for more than a couple of years, that's another good reason to buy from them.

Each time I've called on them for parts, they've been the epitome of nice and knowledgeable.

In this day and age, we all have come to look for the "angle", the discount- I posit that the VALUE of doing business with such fine peeps is worth every penny and then some. They're a RARE commodity.

+another for American Sport Bike.

Great service each time I've ordered.

Plus, I somehow got one of their business cards on my bike at Mid-Ohio Superbike race!

+ a bunch on American Sport Bike. Good service and people. And Latus is in Oregon. I bought a bike there and received some great emergency service from them too.

Latus doesn't appear to be a Badweb sponsor any longer, at least they're not listed on the sponsors forum:

I didn't mean to start a ruckus of sorts, I just hadn't looked at the Sponsors section for a bit and all it appeared to be at a quick glance were local enthusiasts groups and aftermarket vendors.
I guess the dealerships bailed when stinkin' HD pulled the plug.
I did not have American Sport Bike in mind when I asked my question.
I've never said a bad thing about American Sport Bike, either publically or privately, as they've always been great to deal with. The X1W I rode today has quite a few of their products on it.
Money is real tight right now, is all. They cut the overtime out at work but didn't stop the bills at home which I think is rather inconsiderate...

I don't think you're in the outhouse Steve, this thread has just turned into a American Sport Bike love fest.

I've also been wondering what happened to the all dealership sponsors we used to have, wondered if there was some sort of universal angst from HD trickling down to kick badweb in the butt or some sort of thing.

My name is Mike, I've also used A.S.B. and I don't regret it a bit.

My guess is there just isn't much payback to dealers for sponsoring a forum for a defunct motorcycle brand.

Hopefully when EBR goes into regular production and establishes a dealer network, things will pick up here.

To be fair, most any thread where American Sport Bike is mentioned, it turns into a bit of a pep rally.

That should tell you something right there.
