Went with some friends today to have lunch at Chick-fil-A in support of them taking a stand for the biblical definition of marriage between a man and woman. Hundreds of people in line. Only two people outside protesting against our appreciation of Chick-fil-A day. Good to see all the support out there for Chick-fil-A.

Good on you! I wish there was one closer, I seriously considered running to the closest one at lunch (30 miles) and running back but was asked out by my family to lunch. I really think the protesting is ignorant. So they donated to a charity they support, let the gays donate and support a charity. I don't know what they're all bent out of shape about, they won't let us straight guys marry each other either: )

You would think with Americans still dying in Afghanistan, the media might find something more important to talk about?

Pfft. Afganistan is sooo last week. Saw a Top Gear episode last night about British Afgan war vets (multiple amputees) racing in the Dakar Rally, and the issues they are facing. Sobering.

I eat there all the time. Good chiken. I feel uncomfortable when the girls say's "How can I serve you",... when I hear this, I wonder which cute girl is speaking thru the intercom, and my immediate thought is to say: "I'd like a foot massage please", but then I come to my senses and I remember I am hungry and make my order.

I agree with Crusty...sort of. Although it is unwise for a CEO to take a political or religious stand as everyone's money is green, it is a free speech issue and the knee jerk reaction of the left and some politicians is despicable.

At lunch, I went to our local Chic-fil-A for lunch to show my support but couldn't get in. The line went around the building.

I bet this gets ignored by the media.

It would conflict with the story they're telling, so yeah, they'll probably ignore it. Unless they find a troupe of klan members enjoying a tasty sandwich, and then they'll do a piece on how the klan is one of their biggest supporter. Anything to advance the agenda.

Chicken vendor is vilified for speaking his mind, an opinion that is shared by a majority of Americans. Anyone who does not agree with the agenda of the less than 5% who are gay is instantly a homophobe. This stuff is crazy.....

Like their chicken sammich, though.

The Chik-fil-A CEO is expressing the same opinion as Obama publicly held...until Obama "evolved" a month ago.

The CEO has every right to voice his opinion, and even contribute to organizations that he agrees with.

When our elected officials who disagree with his opinion state that they are not welcome to do business in their area, I find that reprehensible. It is as clear of a persecution of one's religious believes as I have seen from a public official in my entire life. The hypocrisy of these elected officials is astounding! I hope that this is well remembered when these bigots are up for reelection.

I've seen this company's billboards for years while driving through around the USofA. Never had the urge to stop at one. However, I expect to go out of my way to eat there simply in support of First Amendment rights for heterosexual Christians, what with this syndicate of sexual alternative folks doing their attacks on those who are not in agreement with their publicly celebration of anti-Christian and non-heterosexual activities.

Uh, wait a second. Is Constitution protection just for them, or is it for everyone?

CEO of chic fil a has the right to speak up.
Gays have a right to protest and boycott.
First amendment means all these people have a right to speak their minds. SO whats the problem?

The problem is elected officials saying that they will not be allowed to have shops in certain areas simply because the mayor doesn't agree with their religious beliefs. Ever hear of the first amendment that also protects people from religious persecution?

So whats the problem? Here is the problem.
Following Chick fil A's CEO Dan Cathy's support of traditional marriage, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, and San Francisco liberal politicians spoke out against the food chain and threatened to block Chick fil A from opening any business or further businesses in their cities.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel said that Chick fil A's values were not "Chicago values."

On Friday, supporters of same-sex marriage will have their say. They plan a “kiss-in” at Chick-fil-A restaurants across the country – encouraging gays and lesbians to share a public display of affection at the home of the chicken sandwich.

I hope that if the take up space in the restaurants that they have the decency to order something. If not the police should be called and they should be removed. They can do as they please outside on public property, but the rights of a business should be respected. I have a feeling it may not go this way.

Great pics Sifo. That's what the Chick Fil A where I live looks like ALL THE TIME (except on Sundays). I've learned to avoid the entire area during the lunch rush.

One problem is probably your news source.

Another problem is this:

quote:

"Let's say that you own a business. And let's say that as a person of faith, you decide to use the profits from that business to support, at least in some small part, traditional marriage. Now let's say that your political opponents find your position stunning and launch a boycott against your business.

"So far, no harm, no foul. It may be irritating that your political opponents choose to make your personal political predilections the basis of a crushing economic attack. But it's their right.

"But now let's say your political opponents are in government. And let's say they use the power of their office to shut down your business -- not because you violated any law or broke any regulation, but because they don't like your position on traditional marriage.

"This would be fascism."

Maybe I'll go on Friday and bring a camera.

Atlanta news radio was all abuzz today about this.

I personally don't care for Chick-Fil-A but I really like them as an organization.

Overpriced chicken, limited menu. I really feel the urge to patronize them, but I hardly ever feel like eating what they sell.

I hope they emerge from this a lot stronger than before, and if nothing else, they serve as an example to others.

waited in line for 2 hours
4 grilled chicken samichs, 2 large waffle fries and 2 large dranks... spent just about 20 bucks.

if you have ever set foot in a Chick-fil-a, I have no idea how someone would be shocked by the CEO's stance on marriage.
Just take a look around and read some of the "posters"
