If the Zombie Apocalypse actually does come, ( and it won't since it's fictional ) people will deny it. The Gov will try and cover it up, and the talking heads on tv will support this gov in suppressing facts, right up to and including the time the Zombies are eating their brains on tv. ( some would say that a tiny meal ) Just speculation on this future, fictional, can't ever happen Zombie Apocalypse...... It will, at first probably be tossed casually away as some incident involving "Homeless" people, and the police will, of course, blame it on "drugs", claim "there was some sort of confrontation" and not release the names of the injured & dead, pending notification of kin. People will soon forget about it under the deluge of the 24 hour news cycle, political races, and the ever present War On Obesity. I could not, under such conditions suggest you check the thread on anti-zombie weapons, since, of course, they do not exist. I am locking the car doors while driving from now on. Homeless people on drugs, you know. |

Just you wait 'til the Zombies get lawyered up, then you'll be in trouble. It'll be a criminal offence to discriminate against the "differently vital". |

still don't know enough facts. Voodoo or bioagent? Slow or fast Zombie? How was he stopped? How many shots? Were head shots needed? We need a brave reporter to ask these questions of the Miami Police and ME. We have a Right To Know! We must be prepared! Slaughter, if you assume a a lack of higher brain functions, and independent will, Zombies probably already ARE married. |

Aesquire, that's similar to what's in the end of the survival guide. Watch for reports of the victim dying, more attacks, etc. I cleaned my AR last night... |

funny... bath salts aren't a hallucinogen, but LSD is. LSD is also not a stimulant. these "bath salts" are much more comparable to cocaine than LSD. (i had to sit-in on a briefing about this new drug). in other words, it's in no way like LSD. Trust the uneducated media to make LSD look bad, by an event that has nothing to do with it. |

According to the Zombie Survival Guide, far more effective than a machete and a pistol would be a crowbar and a shotgun... |

While a huge fan of Half Life ( the game that ate my summer ) and it's crowbar antics, a machete is lighter and I'm well trained in it's use. Avoid skull strikes with a machete, the preferred attack with a crowbar. Instead, concentrate on beheading. Machete's tend to stick in the skull, leaving you weaponless in mass attacks. Better yet is many ways is a good battle axe. It does require different and better technique than a crowbar or machete, and it's a rare thing to find in it's original combat style, ( yes, I have one, a version of a Tower Of London original, handforged by a Knight of the Society ) but honestly, a modern tomahawk from Cold Steel, or Benchmade, or Fiskars is probably sturdier, and far easier to obtain. Also not as offensive to the commieloving weapon phobes, especially if you stick some GreenPeace stickers on it. Pistol is handier and lighter than shotgun, but the majority will find the shotgun easier to use, and more powerful, as well as easier to find ammo for in the post civilization times. Reloading gear is a must for long term survival, and a good investment for the home, but trapped in the Mall, gleaning is your only choice. |

Aesquire -- Now you need to try out both Left 4 Dead and it's sequel. HL (the original) rocked, HL2 was even better, but if you want to mess with zombies, then you need to try out at least L4D. They have it on sale as low as $10 sometimes. Dead Island is supposed to be pretty good as well, I haven't tried it yet. I also found this earlier for some entertainment. http://adriansundeaddiary.com/ |

Beheading a corpse with a single strike of a machete or a sword is pure movie special effects. It isn't possible with a REAL human neck... undead or otherwise. Caving in a skull with a crowbar, however, is easily done. If you feel more comfortable, I think a good aluminum bat would suffice as well. I'd avoid wooden ones because they tend to break, leaving you essentially weaponless. A pistol (or any gun firing a single bullet) would require you to have dead on accuracy to pierce the brain case... something difficult to do when you're surrounded by ravening undead. A shotgun is more effective for taking the head clean off. |

Jaimec, True, beheading is a two handed sword, or axe move. A big 2 handed sword is too big to use in a hallway, and has other issues. The good news is there are classes available for the German style as there are many learning and teaching Bastard Sword. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_school_of_fenc ing http://www.thearma.org/terms4.htm That style includes grappling, and some brutal moves that would be useful in a Zombie situation. The more modern Rapier, ( think 3 Musketeers ) is too light for beheading, and is primarily a poking style. Since Zombies by most mythos can take bullets to the chest, I doubt their usefulness. A good tomahawk would be superior. Crowbars are a good multifunction tool, but one has to consider size and strength. I'm 6' 210 lbs, and would have an easier time with a crowbar than a 5'3" 130lb guy or girl. L4D is on my list of games to do, I'll have to run down to gamestop and check for it. Just a tip for the insufficiently paranoid. Remember as you read the news reports. Business as usual is the same reporting you get with deep coverups......Otherwise it wouldn't be a coverup. |
