There is still great things if you look for them. If all you look for is confrontation, you will find it. Just had a great get get together in Daytona at AMA races last month. Plenty of Badwebber's there of various political ideals. Just because you have a different opinion, doesn't mean you can't get along with the person. It's an election year. Political posts are bound to happen. If you don't want to read them, don't. | ||

I'm just a pee-on here, don't make the rules, can only follow them. I used to be rather involved in all of the socio-politcal BS on this board. I still read the threads and articles from time to time, but made a resolution of sorts to stop posting in them and perpetuating their existence. I don't think they belong here, at least not nearly in the capacity they exist today, so my choice is to simply ignore them. Spidey - great posts and great memories for the events I was around for. We still have a good group of people here, hope to see you around more! | ||

Aeholton, No offense but you have no idea what your talking about. I with help of others was usually at the guts of most of these gatherings for 10 plus years. Times have changed for sure. Judging by your profile you have been here awhile evidently you haven't observed completely. | ||

Maybe I don't have a 14K+ post count, but I've been lurking here since I bought my M2 back in 2002 (Joined in 2005). Just because my opinion is different doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about. Just a different opinion. Look for good and you will find it. Look for bad and you will find it. That's all I'm saying. A quick glance at the Storm Fronts section leads me to believe quite a few gatherings are still happening. Look for them. | ||

Yeah, a few too many non motorcycle threads but remember, winter is just getting over in most of the country, racing season just began, no "Bold new graphics" to talk about for a couple years nows and an election year. Summer is coming, it will get better! | ||

You ought to be thanking Blake, not castigating him. No one is stopping YOU from posting on motorcycle threads or organizing rides. All you can do is complain. Wow! We in SoCal are extremely active and have alternating monthly meetings and rides. We are now preparing for Laguna Seca on our Buells. What are YOU doing to promote Erik's ideals? For the 10000000000th time...if you object to a thread on QuickBoard that is clearly labeled political or religious or stamp_collecting, or Crusty's_got_a_brand_new_valve, then do not open that thread. There is no need to menstruate. | ||

I kind of thought the quickboard was for non-motorcycle specific stuff. In the Uly section, it's still pretty much entirely Uly stuff. In the Storm-Fronts, there are still riding groups and GTG's.  | ||

Round and round it goes. Blake is a regular participant in the political threads. Why on earth would he want to "take back the BadWeb"? The inability to separate a person's political views from their character shows a level of immaturity. The inability to wade through the various topics, read and comment on those that interest you without the need to piss on others for discussing topics that don't interest you also displays immaturity. Quite frankly, pictures of your pets or whining about your sinus infection don't interest me. SEND MONEY FEED THE ADDICTS . Look around Badweb folks are very involved with Buells Badweb is bigger and more diverse than ever. Fireman Jim is still racing out west Court is still a tease We have roll over as some stop riding or lose some to accidents like Kevin. But the things that bring us to Buells are still the same. Dave Gess we will argue politics every day with him but he breaks down or rides into a ditch we will help him and tease him at the same time! Yep, I thinking along the lines of Rocket whose slams were aimed at us as a group and not me personally. But then everyday someone somewhere insists that I'm at war with women and a racist homophobe. That I want to starve children and the elderly, poison the environment, etc, etc. But in the end I put whatever parts I desire on my bikes and vote the way I want so it all doesn't matter anyway. | ||

I, for one, for the most part agree. I have differing opinions than most who post on Quickboard, and at several different points the insults almost drove me away...  I have been told by one person that I am a lazy freeloader that should be ashamed of myself. I have been told by another person that I must be full of self hatred because I don't believe what they believe. I have also been accused of "attacking Christianity" although that was the furthest thing from my intentions, which I repeatedly explained it that thread. The really funny thing about all this is that because of the frustration, and the occasional insult, I have been able to take away from it all a really strong motivation to fight for what I believe in in my personal life and even in a political sense, take away from it a committment to get out there and try to make the world a better place. Which is a good thing. I, however, have come to the conclusion that discussing anything personal on here that really means a lot to me is just opening myself up for an emotional attack, and I will step off and frequent the place much less. Whatever... it is what it is. I remember when I first got on here in early 2002 that there was a really big mentality of a 'good old boy's club', and a lot of really obnoxious sexual discussion about women. Well, I jumped right in there and threw it right back at you guys. Which was fun. Blame it on the strict Catholic I had just gotten out of a serious relationship with that didn't even want me to curse in front of him... Funny thing is, I am closer to a lot of the badweb people than most of my other friends who know almost everything about me. So, in life, it is irony that makes it all worth while. Well, that and seeing FMJ almost smoke us out of his house by blowing out a bunch of candles on his birthday cake. Carry on...  | ||

The beauty of a news group; if you don't like it leave and start your own subject. I know there are threads that I open only to see who started it; some times that's enough for me, so I close the thread and never look again. | ||

I do find it odd that the only conservative leaning motorcycle bulletinboard that I can think of has a constant barrage of folks seeking to limit non-motorcycle discussions. I've never heard any of these complaints on the more left leaning boards. Funny that. | ||

I don't browse the 1125 board because I have no desire to read about a bike that I do not own, I don't browse the classifieds because I have no desire to read about things that I can not afford. Those who do not desire to be bombarded with non-motorcycle topics should consider avoiding the quick board.  |
