I have an older Cub lawn tractor and need to get deck bearings (I think they're called "blade spindle assemblies"). Looking online they're freakin' $150 each - for BEARINGS!! I would like to fix this thing, but not for half the cost of a new mower...anyone out there have access to some sort of discount? I have a part number... |

Try here, these are the spindles I use when I work on commercial mowers. http://www.oregonchain.com/pro/products/oep/spindl es.htm |

Rat, can you not push out the bearings themselves to replace them, or are they plain bearings? |

Joe, I have a newer Cub Cadet mower and it has those spindle assys. also. I was able to disassemble the assys. and tap the bearings out and replace them. |

Cool, I'll look into a disassembly/bearing replacement. Thanks |

Look at eBay for bearings(or even the complete spindle). A $20.00 bearings can be had for a couple of bucks if you hit it right..but make sure they are sealed bearings and not just with dust shields. Just a guess, but a 6202 bearing sounds about right for that application.I bought a "buy it now" SKF sealed 6202-5/8"-2RS for $2.99 with free shipping. |

Even $20 is cool...they're so covered in gak, I hadn't even thought about "hey...wonder if I can just replace the bearing?". Duh. I swear...I'm not blonde... |

Nah. I was a brunette before I died in '08. Unless it skips a generation, so to speak. |
