...Alice's Restaurant on Skyline(south of San Fran),great hangout for meeting all kinds of bike riders(best times are a +1 to what Greg said),there you can ride to either La Honda,Felton,Santa Cruz.Great twisties there.Haven't done those rides in over 20+years.There are so many roads to ride in the Bay Area(East Bay hill and out towards the Delta..160 through the Delta)and the North Bay all around Sonoma.Another one is 58 from 101 to the coast.Goes up and over the coast range through Philo and snakes through the Redwoods(very pretty scenery). Jim,you got the best "seat" in the house.Roll up the door at the shop and plop on the couch....unless you're part of the "hill couch" gang. |

Gents Spent 12 hrs in the saddle today. Hwy 1 is a trip! I fiddled around and ended up in santa Rosa for the night. Need to see about a new front tire. Then probably head back north as Im expecting a friend to fly in next week. Hwy 1 is just gorgeous, and I had some guys on BMW and ktm sport touring bikes racing me through the corners! Come to find out one used to race sportbikes. Great day after the rain let up! |

google the map of the road, you will find why you want to repeat. It looks like someone to a ball of yarn and un ravelled it in tight hairpins with drops and climbs in elevation that have no depth on that map. it is a FUN road - and waaaaaay off the beaten path. |
