Speaking of "New Scooter"...I will soon own another scooter. The lure of 100+ mpg struck me very hard when a $50.00 bill could not refill the 16 gallon tank on my Ranger. The local Honda shop is clearancing out some 2010 Elite 110 scooters. Liquid cooled, fuel injected. Lots of storage, perfect for 95% of my running around.
I have a 3KW E-scooter that is currently down with a controller casualty. It is good for back and forth to work, but needs to be recharged about every 35 miles.
I'm getting by with roughly 50 mpg... but I also need to be able to maintain a steady 75mph cruise or get run off the road on the Long Island Expressway (yeah... I KNOW our speed limit is only 55mph... go tell that to EVERYONE else on the road).
I picked up the new scooter yesterday. I like it a whole lot. I wish my XB had a headlight that good. The linked braking system is outstanding. It is peppy and is a complete hoot to ride.
My LEAST favorite feature of my old XB12Ss. That bike was downright SCARY to ride at night in upstate NY. At least the 1125R had a decent set of lights. My TMAX, on the other hand, has got one of the best headlights I can remember in a LONG time. It is even better than the stock headlight on my K1200LT (though on the LT I've supplemented the high beam with a set of PIAA lights).
My new scooter is officially a 100+ mpg machine at 102 mpg. I treated it to .92 gallons of non-ethanol 89 octane today. Wonder if it will improve when it is completely broken in?
No - you guys ride on the wrong side of the road. I've never been wrong about anything. :-)
It's just the alternating current of those LED lights. They don't sync the camera frames. Street signs do it too. They are on full time to the naked eye.
