Boogie,

It WAS the first rodeo with an 1190 for EBR, May and Eslick AT Daytona. Mechanicals aside, a 205 mph posted speed, a 6th and a 9th is pretty dayum respectable in my book!!!

Forgive me if this is a repost, and I'm not sure this is the appropriate thread (I couldn't find the threads that discussed race electronics, though I know there were several) but I read in RRW yesterday that AMA has set cost caps on electronics for 2012 DSB at $13K and $18K (I think) for AMA superbike in 2013. I suspect this was in response to the rumored $100K KTM spent on their entry.

Waiting for the repost bunny...

Was that the same thread that said the race electroniccs makers had already told people how to end run that control by making sure the hardware came in under that amount, then charging 10x more for the software to run it? : (

It's always going to be hard to selectively chase the money out of high stakes racing (or high stakes politics).

From the RRW article, I gathered that the cost cap covered all hardware, software, cables, sensors, tuning software/hardware, etc. OEM sensors were excluded. An itemized list of parts and equipment must be furnished to officials, and that list will be used for spot checks and tech inspections.

Award for most untold stories. And now for the (REST) of the story.

No its just funny that Court will say things like its suppose to impress people then not finish the story.

Court has neither a need nor a desire to impress anyone. He just likes sharing, he likes people and fun stories, but time to type is scarce.

It's a pity some are compelled to badmouth such a thoughtful, giving, and considerate man. Give the professor a little respect.

A very good rule for all of us is that if we don't have something nice to say about someone, then it's usually best to avoid saying anything about them.
