I like it! A lot! If I could buy the frame... I'd buy a totaled XB for cheap and do it!

Just don't tell my wife

"Its been around awhile"

Yes. Makes you wonder. How could it possibly take this long to bend some tubing for a frame and slap on a gas tank? 95% of the rest of the bike is pre-engineered.

I've been following this thread on the XBoard for a while (a lot of people have).

There are a lot of parts on it that are not Buell. You have to start from the beginning to see what work went into it.

I don't condone the sacrifice of any Buell but this would be a great alternative to those dented-frame totaled bikes from the insurance companies.

It has a lot of possibilities with just the basic frame.

OK, maybe everybody's definition of 'a lot' isn't the same. The non-Buell parts make up the look of the bike and make it appear to people as a 'Harley' flat tracker. It only looks like a Buell to us. But put your hand over the bottom half of the bike's picture and nothing says 'Buell'. That's all I'm sayin really.

Am I the only one who noticed it is a BOTT, and not an HD????

...and Froggy just hates it because it has D616 tires : )

"I bet that frame gives a bit of flex"

I would bet the engine to frame mounting system gives way more flex than the frame itself.

No
I was going to say the same thing, that the title was misleading cause HD has nothing to do with this particular bike.

Its cool looking though, I like the oil cooler behind the number plate.
And yes, could be a cheap way to put some life in a 'totalled' XB

Yup, that's quite neat, a decent alternative if your frame's toast.

All they need to do now with that set-up is ditch the stupid, complicated, heavy fuel pump/fuel injection system and throw on a carb on there and you'd have a simple, light, fast v-Twin motorcycle.

Because this is a 'part time' project that Bottpower are doing for a customer. They are also building and running their own Moto2 racer for the Spanish championship along with various other engineering projects.
I'm sure if they had time to just concentrate on this particular project it would have been finished a while ago. As it is, they are making sure that everything on the project is just right and top quality before moving on to the next chapter.

There is a lot more to it than just 'bending a few tubes and slapping a tank on'.

The finished bike is going to be superb, and if previous Bottpower projects are anything to go by it will be very well engineered indeed : )

MT - 60's
the better dirtier choice
The number on the plate should be an 8 It would form around the headlights much better.

that exhaust will still kill your ground clearance for anything agressive off road.... DAMHIK

that didnt stop me from doing what I did on the CityX ......
Actually, the Blast would be better suited for that duty, a little lighter..... I wonder how well those parts would slap onto the frame that was from MAC ... are they still in biz ?

They are still in business but still haven't produced any bikes yet. Last time I spoke to them (12months +)there was a problem with supply of Blast engines, and I can't see that changing any time soon.

They did talk about using an air cooled Yamaha XT or Honda XR trail bike engine in the MAC frames, but I haven't heard anything from them in a very long time.
