Interesting that they bring up Harley... highly unlikely seeing their track record that they would even consider purchasing Ducati. It would be interesting to watch HD owned Ducatis loosing to EBRs on the track! : )

If true, I hope the buyers are motorcycle people, and not just in it for a buck.

I can do without another motorcycle company run by bean counters.

You don't actually "buy stock" in stuff like DMH (Ducati) you'd buy what's known as an ADR, or an American Depository Receipt.

Here's a down and dirty . . .

quote:

Problems with Foreign Stocks

There is the problem of how to find, evaluate, and buy a foreign stock with confidence.
Fortunately, there are a number of foreign stocks that trade on U.S. stock exchanges just like American companies.

The investing community created American Depository Receipts (ADR) over 75 years ago to facilitate the trading of foreign stock. Here’s how they work.

A U.S. bank buys a large block of stock in a foreign company and bundles the shares for reissue on American stock exchanges. You can tell the foreign stock, because they always have “ADR” after the name.

Probably not telling you you guys anything you don't know . . . . but the gal I married lives and breathes this stuff . . . . he life is calculating foreign exchange (FX) rates, and watching the off hours London and Tokyo exchanges (she had an office in London for years and did the 2 weeks here, 2 weeks there gig. Her deal now if BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China)

Too complicated for me.

The world is changing fast.

"I got off . . . but I "shorted" Obama first . . . ."

There a double entendre in there somewhere.

Nope . . the Big O is hard at work making my retirement comfy. My Grandkids will have to foot the bill but I'm set about making sure they'll be able to.

As long as you know the rules of the game . . . .even if they rules are absolute insanity . . . you can play to win.

Try explaining to your wife that you are going to get the family debt under control by doubling the amount you spend which will create demand which will induce your employer to triple your pay to meet that new demand.

It's not long ago folks would have laughed at this guy . . but, alas, that is before over 50% of the folks were on some sort of government dole . . . nearly 50% paid ZERO taxes and long before the government gave free cellphones (yew, I know that they are cheap and not the smartphones folks had demanded) as a "first amendment right",

When the majority become lazy asses . . . .it's easy to excel.

I'm chanting Gobama.
