Only complaint with mine is the finish on the slide isn't as good as I would expect from S&W, however in their defense, I think mine is a rare rare case. It's gone bang with every pull of the trigger regardless of ammo. I also have the sub model for ccw.
Ultimately, between the glock, xd, S&W, H&k models, it comes down to which one feels best for you. The firearms those companies make these days will outlast most of their owners
walther PPQ feel really good in my hand, and the trigger is pleasnatly short and crisp. ... but this is a motorcycle forum, not a handgun/firearm one. i'd reccomend to go try and shoot as many of them as you can before you make your decision. at least hold them in your hands and see how it feels.
any big gun shops close to you with a firing range? look up when the next gun show is, and pay the $6 at the door. it'll be worth it if you find a nice semi-auto.
I have a Ruger P94dc. Been very reliable, but its very inaccurate. Everyone that has shot it has been all over the board. But to its credit, its very solid, built very nice and decent price.
Is it for daily carry (open or concealed) or for fun?
My daily open carry is a Glock 22 RTF, it isn't pretty but it takes a beating and i'm confident it will fire when i need it to! For any other purpose it wouldn't be my first choice though!
The weapon would be used for home security and fun. I'm not that into weapons as to own... I only need one (budget minded). Love my Glock in all aspects, just want a bit more style along with the reliability and accuracy.
I have the Walther PPQ, fits the hand very nicely. Also have the XDM 3.8" barrel. Both guns are outstanding. The PPQ is a little lighter and fits the hand a little nicer. But the XDM was my first handgun and it has about 1000 rounds through it without a single problem. The PPQ was just received last week and have only 2 mag's through it. Will keep both of them for a very long time.
the m&p 40 is an outstanding pistol. i've had the kimber, glock, xd, taurus, you name it. nothing fits my hand like the m&p. and i've never in thousands of rounds had a single malfunction of any kind. it's next to the bed
and i think Hornaday has a great marketing advert going with their ZOMBIE stuff. it worked on me... while i didn't buy the zombie stuff, i got some of thier critical defense and i load it in my magazines for every day carry. Tula/federal for range/target
If they read the book they would know the zombie ammo should actually be a phosphorous core round. Burns red. Maybe they will get it right in the movie...
There are Glock upgrades... The Glock is a solid weapon. It's a tool. It may not be pretty, but it's solid, works and works some more. I like to not have to think about my tools and when it works, I don't think about it.
I think you will like the XDm. Mine has over 2K rounds through it and the only hiccups was a fail to feed during the first 50 rounds and a couple of cases that didn't clear the ejection port using some light reloads. Those are an issue with the light load not fully cycling the slide and will not happen with factory ammo.
That Hornady campaign is just plain ridiculous and certainly dishonors a quality company in my eyes. The kind of ammo buyer those adds would attract I'd rather avoid thank you.....
Sure doesn't help any reasonable argument in favor of good firearm legislation that's for sure.
Congrats on the SA XDM Boney, fine weapon.

That Hornady ad has an interesting disclaimer saying it's for use on zombies only, not humans. I can see some lawyer trying to use this against a crime victim who has rightfully defended themselves. That may sound ridiculous, but it's enough for me to never buy any ammo with that disclaimer. Sure it's just advertising that plays off of a popular horror movie genre, but if fails miserably when you then need that sort of legal disclaimer.
