Weedeating and leafblowing are the most annoying sounds, ruining the beauty and peace of the seasons... I wish everyone would at least use electrics, they're a little quieter.

JUST after the rain last nite, my neighbor's up already with his blower first thing- the frickin leaves ARE STILL WET. He's got a loud electric one too. What ever happened to a good ole rake?!

Weedeating & leafblowing sounds cannot begin to compare with the totally annoying, exotic, visceral & overwhelmingly soulful sound of a 1975 Yamaha RD250 at full song!
My fathers neighbors still comment on my arrivals & departures almost 35 years after I moved out of the family home!
(It's also wonderful in tunnels)

Zip, its been a while since I've been in an S10, but on a search of S10 interior photos I don't see anything obvious as this switch, and searching for ignition switch isn't getting me what I want! The key should just rotate counter clockwise till the steering lock engages, then you can pull it out.

I know exactly the switch (more of a small lever) Zip is talking about. I've had it on a few cars. It sticks out of the steering column right next to the ignition switch. If you don't press the lever you can't turn the key all the way to the lock position and you can't get the key out. It was designed so that you can't easily lock the steering wheel while in motion. Idiots are far more creative than that though.

I don't even see how that is possible, you have to turn the key off, past accessory, and you wouldn't even be able to get to that point with the car in gear, there is some other device stopping you. Still, I guess if they had it on his truck, there was a purpose for it.

Squids, one of the guys I ride with on occasion (he came to Buelltoberfest a while back, crazy old hippy dude named Karl), he has a bunch of 2smokes. I know the sound and smell outside of garden utilities, and I still find it just as annoying.

Manual trans. I'm pretty sure they had them on auto trans models too though. Once you got used to it, it was done without thinking about it. Your first time had you wondering WTF is wrong that I can't get the frickin' key out? It wasn't just an S10 thing either.

Lord no wonder froggy is a tech pup lol
My boat is 6 years older than Froggy ROFL

Electric fans didnt come on old Jeeps because electronically commutated fans didnt exist and Graphite brushed motors were failure prone and didnt run fast enough on 6 Volts. Bell labs didnt have the silicon scrap from the Roswell crash to steal the idea for the Germanium transistor till 48 or so.
Some of smartest folks you ll ever meet are Farmers and Old school machinists black smiths.

The U2 Sr71 Shuttle most of Stealth were designed with slide rules. Hardware changes talent develops new technology but still has to work with whats availible

98 S-10,same as my 01 Sonoma. Push button and rotate switch ccw and remove key. Not so handy with a damaged thumb.

S-10 & Sonoma. Off,park and on.

And 214,000 miles of dust/grunge...:-(

80 Pinto...two handed operation. Turn key ccw to stop, depress button lever on left side of column and turn key farther ccw to remove. Note the key is out,but the switch is on. I remove the lock tumbler pins so I don't need the key, cept to unlock the door. If they break in,ain't going to matter if they need to defeat the ignition..........they are already there....and hardly smart enuf to try and start in with out the key........Me,unlock door, put key back in my pocket and go.....no fumbling around.

The S10 is different from what I've had from GM.

The Pinto pick brings back memories... Most of them bad. I had a '76. Same damn 2 hander button though. I had managed to block that from my memory.
