Be careful. GoPro is "obsoleting" all current models and is coming out with a new one. Not sure exactly what this means as far as supporting/replacing current models but there are quite a few 'sales' of GoPro going on in just the last week or so, which is ironic given GoPro has 'blacklisted' dealers who sold them below MSRP in the past.

I'm happy with the one I have, wish I had gotten it at this price (or cheaper) when I did. Just posted this in case someone was looking for one.

Dean - Not busting your chops, amigo. GoPro is just a bit squirrely when it comes to customer and dealer support. When they work, they work great.

I read somewhere that the main improvements were in the still images - up to 12mpx - but it was online somewhere - questionable accuracy.

FWIW I got good support from my retailer when my first unit failed.

From what I read the GoPro2 has a better lens, adj wide angle also, 170:127:90 degrees.
I bought the goproHD a month ago, wish I would have waited.

Search buell394 on youtube, a few of my Uly and atv videos

I have one as a gift from a friend. I took it on a MTB ride the other day and got some great footage.
The only problem I'm having is trying to edit it. Windows Movie Maker keeps crashing and my linux laptop works using Openshot but it's really slow. The software I downloaded from GoPro is great for converting and trimming down files but I don't think it can compile, add background music, ect.
Does anyone have some suggestions for video editing software?

Notpurples2 -- What kind of angle/mounts did you do for mountain biking? Ive been playing with different mounts but cant decide what I like best. Handle bars (very shaky), fork, down tube facing sprocket, and seat post facing rear. Im using the VideoPad Video Editor trail version for now, thinking of purchasing it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UghzNAImpU4 view it 720p and dont be to harse with opinions, this is my first time playing with it. Oh, the music, its the only song I had that was as long as video so again, be nice : )

Barker,
Thanks for the update..
I checked a couple of sites and they were the same $179. The $30 gift card was a kicker.
They must be firesaleing them, motorcyclegear must not have got the email.... they are usually really decent on the prices.

Josnow,
I mounted mine under the handlebars (you're right it's shakey) using one the reflector clamp. I took off the reflector and used the bolt hole to connect a short arm of the GoPro mount.
I was able to get WinMovMaker to stop crashing with a trick I found online.
please excuse the poor quality, it's my first video ever and I think I compressed it too much. The original quality was amazing, but the youtube version looks pretty poor by comparison.

For mountain bike (and dirt bikes), a surprisingly good mount is on your chest, depending on bar position. If you ride reasonably upright, the angles work out nicely a lot of the vibration is dampened. The view is in the direction of travel, unlike helmet mounts.

The chest mount is the best aspect for most bikes.
