It's embarrassing. Last month it was a bill introduced in the state senate that would make it a crime to place unfitted sheets on hotel mattresses. http://tinyurl.com/3ksu32n This week it's a bill regulating babysitters. If this law passes you'll now have to hire two sitters to watch your kids. The second one will show up every 2 hours to give the first a 15 minute rest and/or meal break. They'll be paid minimum wage, worker's comp and given a detailed paycheck stub. http://tinyurl.com/3s8mcnj Add to this the signing of the dream act and California is truly becoming the land of fruits and nuts. |

Why isn't pushing a bill that directly affects a family member considered a conflict of interest? |

I thought the legislation making circumcision illegal was just about as imposing and overbearing as it gets. |

Fatty, that was an ordinance San Francisco was trying to get through. To its credit, the state legislature is working on a bill to prohibit cities from enacting such rules. SF also passed or tried to pass an ordinance to outlaw the sale of pets. Ironically, and apparently in deference to the large asian population, the ordinance would allow the sale of live animals for human consumption. So I can't buy a dog as a pet but I can buy it if I plan to eat. BTW, there are no pet owners here. We are "pet caretakers". My dog believes she's a "people caretaker". |

All the Dems in Cali who support this kind of overbearing legislation need to be forced to go live in Somalia for year. |

>>> Just the dems, huh? Okay, lump the greenies in there too, and the communists and all the left wing ideologues. >>> This isn't overbearing? Not in my view, but I view the murder of unborn babies a moral outrage. Killing unborn babies is far beyond mere "overbearing". In my view, it is nothing short of murder. So again, no. It is just one tiny step toward defending the most innocent and helpless human lives. |

It's a pity you aren't an unborn baby scheduled to be ripped apart, or burned in sodium solution, or have a spike driven into your brain. You might have a different view of the issue. ummm, no legal clinic does these procedures. If you were a female, raped by a stranger, brother, father, uncle, family friend, or the town pastor, I think you would want choices. I sure would. The true moral of this, is that some smart judge had the common sense to keep government from imposing themselves into, not only patients lives, but doctors as well. |

>>> ummm, no legal clinic does these procedures. Actually, they ALL do them. Those are the only means used for "aborting" unborn babies that I've ever seen reported. Shocking huh. >>> If you were a female, raped by a stranger, brother, father, uncle, family friend, or the town pastor, I think you would want choices. I sure would. A tiny minority of abortions; the vast majority of nothing but birth control after the fact, purely elective. But okay, I'll compromise; I'll give you the morning after pill, though in principle I don't even support that, why should an innocent and helpless life suffer for the act of its sperm donor? >>> The true moral of this, is that some smart left wing activist judge had the common sense lack of integrity to keep government from imposing themselves into, not only patients lives, but doctors as well legislate from the bench. Your bogus logic would have us all free from any government mandated activity. That of course fails. Bottom line is that an unborn baby deserves protection of its inalienable rights, pre-eminent among those is the right to life. |

What is really astounding is that you are entirely ignorant of how abortions are performed. Become educated. Learn truth. The acts of abortion and so-called "partial birth abortion" are incontestably the most horrific brutal inhuman acts of murder ever perpetrated on living humans. It truly is unspeakable. Of course the mainstream media won't report on it in any kind of honest detail. They are accomplices. (Message edited by Blake on September 01, 2011) |

I wonder what percent of abortions fall in to that category? 1%? less? Considering rape is probably the most unreported crime, probably more. What difference does it make? Some whack job wants to shove their ideological views down patients and doctors throats. I'm ignorant? This is coming from the guy who takes his "become educated" and "learn truth" links from a blanket google image search. Oooook, you just stay way out there in your deep, deep right field Blake. |

How do you imagine unborn babies are aborted? If you imagine they are not either ripped apart, or burned in sodium solution, or have scissors/spike inserted into their brains which are then sucked out, then you are ignorant. Prove me wrong. I dare you. |

I looked. From what I could find, it's 1% or less, depending on where you get your data. 6% are health of the mother/baby, and the rest are elective murders. |

It's not your fault though, you've simply been misled by a corrupt world and a corrupt media. >>> Some whack job wants to shove their ideological views down patients and doctors throats. Asking that a women be shown the sonogram of the unborn baby she is planning to have murdered is shoving ideology down the throats of patients and doctors? Who's the whack job? When I obtain a loan from a bank the bank is forced by law to show me and I am forced to acknowledge being shown and understanding the "truth in lending" report for the loan, but a woman looking to have her unborn baby murdered should be shielded from the truth? Explain how one is bad and the other good? |

Types of Abortion Suction Aspiration Suction Aspiration (click for image) is the most common method of abortion during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. General or local anesthesia is given to the mother and her cervix is quickly dilated. A suction curette (hollow tube with a knife-edged tip) is inserted into the womb. This instrument is then connected to a vacuum machine by a transparent tube. The vacuum suction, 29 times more powerful than a household vacuum cleaner, tears the fetus and placenta into small pieces which are sucked through the tube into a bottle and discarded. Dilation and Curettage (D&C) This method is similar to the suction method with the added insertion of a hook shaped knife (curette) which cuts the baby into pieces. The pieces are scraped out through the cervix and discarded [Note: This abortion method should not be confused with a therapeutic D&C done for reasons other than pregancy.] Dilation and Evacuation (D&E) This method is used up to 18 weeks' gestation. Instead of the loop-shaped knife used in D&C abortions, a pair of forceps is inserted into the womb to grasp part of the fetus. The teeth of the forceps twist and tear the bones of the unborn child. This process is repeated until the fetus is totally dismembered and removed. Usually the spine must be snapped and the skull crushed in order to remove them. Salt Poisoning (Saline Injection) Salt Poisoning (Saline Injection) (click for image)Used after 16 weeks (four months) when enough fluid has accumulated. A long needle injects a strong salt solution through the mother's abdomen into the baby's sac. The baby swallows this fluid and is poisoned by it. It also acts as a corrosive, burning off the outer layer of skin. It normally takes somewhat over an hour for the baby to die from this. Within 24 hours, labor will usually set in and the mother will give birth to a dead or dying baby. (There have been many cases of these babies being born alive. They are usually left unattended to die. However, a few have survived and later been adopted.) Partial-Birth Abortion Five steps to a partial birth abortion:
- Partial Birth Abortion (click for larger image)Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby's legs with forceps.
- The baby's leg is pulled out into the birth canal.
- The abortionist delivers the baby's entire body, except for the head.
- Partial Birth Abortion (click for larger image)The abortionist jams scissors into the baby's skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the skull.
- The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child's brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse. The dead baby is then removed.

Damn whackjobs wanting a woman to view an ultrasound of her unborn baby before having a money-grubbing murderer masquerading as a medical doctor dismember, crush, chemically burn, or such out its brains. |

I mean seriously, if chickens, hogs and beef cattle were killed in the same manner that abortionists kill unborn babies, people would go to prison for animal cruelty. It is absolutely #@$%ing outrageous. So many misled, the procedure disguised and made benign as possible, pushed on our society as a "right to choose." So many misled. Evil. |
