Jeremy,

I think Char agrees; see her account of relating the issue to the NC job interviewer.

If catalytic converters are for badly designed engines, then every automobile engine sold in America must be badly designed.

Certainly badly designed.

They should have steam engines.

That run on Unicorn farts and Rainbows.

Isn't that the hopey changey future?

Ok, busted, I was unaware that the 1125 series had cats.

It's still a technology with side effects when improperly maintained. ( just like the "Ride Of Steel" coaster at a local park that has spit out 2 people to their doom. One was too fat to close the restraint bar on, the other a vet who rode without his legs. Both a family tragedy. Both qualify as improper operation. Then right after they restarted the ride after the investigation, broke the chain with damage to the gear house. All you have to do to mess up a cat is feed it 110LL aviation fuel. ( used to be easier, but they finally made lead in gas go almost completely away. ))

Huh? Who knew? All these years I thought Unicorns were members of the equine family.

One other thing I'm unclear on.
How do you get a cat to eat 110LL av gas?
