Quote: Anons comments have cost him at least one sale of an 1190 this year for sure as I was definately serious about buying one and I had 2 other serious customers already inquiring with me. Harsh man,harsh.........and something I would expect from a spoiled brat that didn't get what he wanted for Christmas, let alone a professional....and on a Buell forum. You can run a great business and have records to back it up........but you have to have a business/forum personality.....you know, something like Al at American Sport Bike. With that,AL would make a terrific E.B.R. dealer......only IF SO PREPARED & QUALIFIED to take that on. (Can you imagine that?) |

You had a guy interested in possibly buying a bike.. So??? I would expect that if I wanted a dealer for my motorcycle company I would want the dealer to be patiant and be able to use good communication skills to work with people. Somehow freaking out on a webpage doesn't instill a load of confidence in said individual posessing those types of qualities. However I believe that if you are interested in dealing with people that way you could have a very successful career as a Sportster Dealer or maybe a desk clerk at the DMV. Bottom line is chill out, your parts order is not quite as important as the debut of the 1190rs on the track. Of course a true Buell fan would probably realize that without having to be told. |

I am sure all of you who are busting my chops already have your deposits down on a new 1190 so my not buying one is not going to matter to Erik Buell Racing. Good luck to everyone involved in the new bike at Erik Buell Racing and I wish all of you good lives as well. |

There was no condescension that I saw. Just a frank man to man answer. >>> for them to automatically write me off Where did anony automatically "write (you) off"? What was stated was as follows:
quote:Dannyd, I know you sent in an application to be a dealer, but it'll take a little while to review it. Not sure having a cylinder head porting service has you prepped to be a motorcycle dealer. There are a lot of state and insurance requirements. But looking for answers or poking around for whatever reason on Badweb is not going to get you the answer.
The statement "Not sure having a cylinder head porting service has you prepped to be a motorcycle dealer" is simply an expression of concern as to qualifications. The proper (productive) response would have been to address that concern and to try to alleviate it. The exact wrong response, if indeed you were truly looking to become a dealer, would be to attack the person and launch into vindictive indignation and really mean-spirited attacks. Someone above mentioned their opinion that your business is much more than a cylinder head porting service. Question: Care to clarify/correct that? Do you even perform cylinder head porting there? Do you build high performance engines there? I thought you were mostly a retail outlet these days. No? |

>>> Anons comments have cost him at least one sale of an 1190 this year for sure. That could only be true if less than the total number of EBR 1190RS motorcycles available are sold this year. Care to wager on that? As I understand it, all that are currently available have been spoken for. Delusion and arrogance make for VERY poor bedfellows. |

Blake, Like I said keep making assumptions about me and my business. many a great general has been defeated due to his underestimating his opponent. So because 30 bikes have already been spoken for that automatically means all 100 are sold at $40,000 each? I am so done with this. thanks to all for listening whether you agreed with me or not. |

>>> So because 30 bikes have already been spoken for that automatically means all 100 are sold at $40,000 each? No. It means that all produced to date at the time of that statement had been spoken for which indicates that your refusal to purchase one is most probably entirely inconsequential. |

>>> Like I said keep making assumptions about me and my business. You didn't say that, and I made no assumptions. My information is based on fact. Do you or do you not do your own head porting? >>> many a great general has been defeated due to his underestimating his opponent. I don't view you as an opponent. In fact, I'd tend to root for you versus your newest competition. I think the fix is in and you unfortunately are in a very tough position. I asked a simple question. Why not answer it? Wow. I have no dog in this fight. That said, dannyd's tone of voice in this thread would warrant a timeout on a three year old. If he treated vendors and customers like he has displayed in his tirades and outbursts here, then he has already proven that he would make a poor representative of the Erik Buell Racing product line. Buy an 1190 or not. That is your decision. You need a time out so go to your room without dinner. |

May I suggest Sacborg? They will treat you in the same vein that you have demonstrated how you treat others. They are back in business and you will find yourself in good company. You will find a comfortable fit there. However, if you haven't already blown it here, then I bet you have some great stories to share about the Salt that new people here would love to hear. Just realize that you rode into town with yer six-shooters a-blazing and neither the Marshall nor the plain townsfolk took to that kindly. |

I apologize for letting my passion get the best of me. All I had asked for was if somebody could get in contact with somebody at Erik Buell Racing and folks instead started blasting me. I should have just let it go but I have never been very good at that. But I also think if you read my first 5 posts you will see I was being very civil until folks started telling me I was just a newbie and basicallt had no right to be asking questions like i was. It is one of my flaws that I need to work on. (Message edited by dannyd on July 07, 2011) |

It is good that you apologized but you immediately took back your apology because "folks started blasting me." Apologize with no "ifs, ands, or buts" and move along. People here are incredibly forgiving and REALLY are rooting for you. |

Blake, You are correct in that the head porting is not being done in house but the current arrangement is working well so far. But I am prepared to bring it in house within 3 weeks if needed and have already made plans for just that. I have the means to purchase a CNC machine on a moments notice and have already interviewed several machinists who could start immediately. The cylinder work is already being done in house just not the heads. Thanks you for your concern as it seems to be genuine and I know what you are inferring to. Maybe it is time for you and I to bury the hatchet? |

Hey, everyone is exuberant about Erik Buell Racing and the 1190. I want everything yesterday too so your frustration IS understandable. People are here to help and you asked for help. Ignore the negative because it is omnipresent if you look for it. Luckily, positivity and passion tends to bloom on Badweb. Give us some Salty stories on the Tales forum. |

Pwnzor, Please re-read my first post. Did that. It was only after I started getting attacked by a few that things went askew. I read the whole first page of the thread over again, and you were offered advise on how to get a response. But for anon to say some of the things he did at this point has just really made me think. At this point I don't think anyone much cares what you think. I am not going to say anymore. And yet, you keep talking. Shut up and go win some more records. I can't believe I read this whole thread. It is interesting to me to have a tiny glimps of insight into what will be nothing short of history being made as we speak. Very cool stuff and one hell of a hard road for Erik Buell Racing to go down. Amazing! I'm proud to be an enthusiast of Erik Buell. It gives me personal strength and hope for the future. |
