Gorgeous, fine-handling and remarkably fast, it is everything we ever wanted an American superbike to be.

This is from a magazine that has always looked for a way to badmouth Buells in the past.

I thought Motorcyclist had always been reasonably Buell-friendly. Sport Bike Rider was the one that hammered Buells.

>>>they still tried there damnedest to bust the brakes balls but just couldn't.

I observitized that . . . but . . what Geoff May did at Road America, as demonstrated by the onboard GPS splits, makes a strong case that the brakes on the 1190RS are far superior.

At this point . . . I'll say it's "my opinion" . . but the folks at the AMA, who do the timing, as shaking their heads asking "can this be right?".

Some of you saw the crowd of AMA Technical folks who scurried over to get a look at the 1190RS.

I expect my opinion will likely soon be seen as proven fact.

: )

Motorcycle sales up 7.2% 1Q . . . not an altogether bad time to bet it all on starting a motorcycle company.

The add that popped up before I could read was an HD ad with stupid illegal ape hangers. For those not in the know, in NY you can not have hand grips that are above shoulder height when sitting on the vehicle.

And after the ad went by and page not found error popped up.

Let's try this link thing again:

Josh,

I think the hardcopy article was written before they had actually ridden the bike.

Do you care to elaborate on this point? If you have some data to share, please do.

Joshinga,

That was an earlier article from before they got to ride one. I would expect they would do a more detailed print story in the months ahead. I hope! Nice online article to read; great to hear from someone who has ridden one rather than the press releases, or worse yet the meaningless blog and chat gossip.

Short story . . . he was loosing ground on the 3 long straights and gaining on everyone in the corners and braking later.

Amazing rider, amazing bike.

Geoff has REALLY taken the 1125 to it's limits. . . .

"the 3 long straights"...

Anyone and most anything can go fast in a straight line...

>>>>Anyone and most anything can go fast in a straight line...

Hahahaha , , , but in the world of racing you make that quantum leap from being "nominally" fast to the "relative: FASTEST.

In a world where all are presumed fast . . . . . a bunch of folks got together and coined the term "racing". It's a ritual wherein a young fellow (or gal as the case is becoming) speeds about a circuit in an attempt to be awarded a free hat by a tire manufacturer and be sprayed with champagne so cheap no sane person over 30 would consume it.

Everybody is fast . . . . straights and corners.

We want our kid to be the fastest.

What he'd proven is that his skills, in concert with certain elements of the bike (think handling and brakes) allow him to make a most impressive (check out all the top 10 finishes) even while down on power in a big way.

Actually quite a very cool school yard fight.

Good news . . . . his big brother is on the way which could resolve that last little problem on the straight aways.
