im trying to figure out a way to watch the badweb embedded videos on it. it acts like they dont even exist, just a blank screen where a video should be. for example all of the videos in the misheard lyrics are completely blank on my phone. not even en empty box, just a empty spot where i know a video is.
if i use jenns lg optimus it pulls them right up.
if i linked instead of embedded the video i could watch it. or go straight to youtube and watch it(which on the embedded stuff doesnt work because i cant even tell what i would go to youtube to watch... lol)
anyone have a fix or an app they know of? not like its a huge deal, but it is annoying since most stuff on here is embedded.
i dont even get the black square! if i put my finger where i KNOW the video should be it will give me an orange outline... but then nothing. doesnt pull up options or ever show the video.
He rooted it. Which means he hacked his phone to get the updated firmware before its out. It works, but its risky too. Gingerbread is just the name of the 2.3.3 software
My Xoom tablet shows all the Flash objects in the default browser. Try downloading Opera Mobile, it works a lot better than the factory one that came on the older OSes. I don't think it will play flash objects yet, but it will at least let you click on them to play in a youtube app.
My Archos tablet has screen shot as an option that you can set, comes in handy now and then.
In my tablet flash shows up as a little icon, you have to tap that icon to see the flash, very similar to flash blockers in Firefox. It is running Android 2.2
Greg_e, which Archos do you have? I have the Archos 9 tablet, and I have been more than pleased with it. I have not changed much other than using firefox yet though. Carol
Archos 43it (or generation 8 if you prefer), if the firmware was good, it would be a decent machine. If you need anything from support you might as well throw it in the trash (even if it is still in warranty). I won't be buying another Archos device.
I had problems with them too. The 1st one I had was the notebook 10 and I liked it but the fan went out under warranty and their warranty sucks. They had it for 3 months and kept promising and promising I think hoping I would give up. Soon it was evident the fan was not repairable so they promised me the 9 tablet as a replacement. Never came. I started emailing and calling them every week. Finally, I called the Better Business Bureau and I had the 9 Tablet in 2 days. Funny thing is I love it and use it all the time and cringe at the thought of it needing repair!
I have an old Jukebox mp3 player that just simple worked and did it for a very long time. This made me think Archos might be a good choice for a device that had Bluetooth A2DP and if they would ever actually fix all the little bugs it just might be that device. Each formware fixes half a dozen things and breaks at least half a dozen other things. The last update broke BT so that I had a hard time getting my audio devices to connect, and if they went out of range or otherwise got disconnected I had to unpair and re-pair before they would work again. And of course you can not go back to any known working version because it says the old firmware is to old! It has not been a great experience.
